Taped on a hand-held cassette recorder, The Final Note captures Duane's guitar brilliance at Painters Mill Music Fair in Owings Mills, MD, on October 17, 1971, only 12 days before his fateful motorcycle accident in Macon, GA. The concert at Painters Mill was the last stop on an extensive tour by the group, which was riding a crest of popularity that stemmed from the July, '71 release of At Fillmore East, the ABB's seminal live album. Captured on this simple audience recording were eight tracks from the band's standard setlist, including smoking versions of & quot;Statesboro Blues & quot;, & quot;Hot 'Lanta & quot; and & quot;Whipping Post & quot;. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Despite the obvious limitations that come with a 50-year-old cassette tape, modern technological enhancements help restore the magic of this significant night. Complete with extensive liner notes on the origins of this album, as well as never-before-published photographs of the 10/17/71 show, The Final Note is a must-have for anyone who appreciates the musical excellence of the original Allman Brothers Band. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Double LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Black Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gatefold jacket & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Extensive liner notes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Never-before-published photos & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;LP-only bonus track & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side A: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Statesboro Blues & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Trouble No More & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Don't Keep Me Wondering & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side B: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Done Somebody Wrong & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;One Way Out & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed (incomplete) & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side C: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Hot 'Lanta & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Whipping Post & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side D - LP Bonus Track: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Stormy Monday (recorded at the Austin Municipal Auditorium, Austin, Texas, September 28, 1971) & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

Three months hence, they would return to the Fillmore East and perform the show captured on their epochal Live at Fillmore East album. So, the band playing at American University is near to the best the group could be. The set includes 'Statesboro Blues,' 'Stormy Monday,' and 'You Don't Love Me,' blues covers that would be repeated at the Fillmore and turn up on Live at Fillmore East, though the songs and the Allmans' treatment of them might have been unfamiliar to those in the audience at American University. 'Don't Keep Me Wonderin'' and 'Leave My Blues at Home' had just appeared on Idlewild South, and this release marks the first live versions of them to be released by the Allmans. There is little new here, but the playing is fierce, especially the interaction of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, and with a solid 20-plus-minute version of 'Whippin' Post,' Allman Brothers Band fans should be pleased with the band's first self-released effort. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - AllMusic & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Double LP & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Black Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Reissue of 2015 release & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Original line up & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Duane Allman, lead, slide guitar & lt;br & gt; Gregg Allman, vocals, Hammond B3 organ & lt;br & gt; Dickey Betts, lead guitar & lt;br & gt; Berry Oakley, bass guitar & lt;br & gt; Jaimoe, drums, percussion & lt;br & gt; Butch Trucks, drums, tympanies & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. This is essential listening for Allman Brothers Band fans, showcasing an early incarnation of the band with Duane Allman in full form and featuring the earliest known live concert recording of & quot;In Memory of Elizabeth Reed & quot;, which had just been penned by Dickey Betts shortly before these shows. The tapes were recorded just one year before the band's landmark At Fillmore East album from the same venue. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Long out-of-print, this set was freshly restored and mastered from original tapes in Owsley Stanley's archives. This is the second release in the award-winning & quot;Bear's Sonic Journals & quot; series and the first joint presentation by the Allman Brothers Band and the Owsley Stanley Foundation. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Limited Edition Pink Vinyl LP - 3000 Copies & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Ten Bands One Cause campaign & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;AAA All Analog Production & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Double LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Restored and mastered from original tapes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gatefold jacket with original cover artwork & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Second release in the & quot;Bear's Sonic Journals & quot; series & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Duane Allman & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;lead & amp; slide guitars & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Gregg Allman & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;vocals, Hammond B-3 organ & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Dickey Betts & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;lead guitar & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Berry Oakley & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;bass, vocals on & quot;Hoochie Coochie Man & quot; & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Jaimoe aka J.
