Norton Motors Ltd was founded in 1898 by James Lansdowne Norton, but it is from 1907, after Rem Fowler won on the Isle of Man TT racetrack, that the sporting tradition of this iconic British brand begins. Between 1930 and 1937 Norton won 78 of the 92 Grand Prix races. After World War II, expressly created for the competition from which takes its name (Isle of Man TT), the Norton Manx was born. In order to adapt it to the racetrack, it is the first one to opt for a double cradle frame (Featherbed), which, between 1947 and 1954, collects a long line of successes. The legendary single-cylinder Manx 500 was ridden to victory in the Isle of Man TT by the intrepid Geoff Duke, who was awarded for the World Championship in 1950 and 1951.

The Volkswagen Golf is an iconic vehicle designed and produced by the Wolfsburg car manufacturer. It was first introduced in Spring 1974 and immediately became a highly successful commercial product. The first series (1974-1983), offered leading edge technical capabilities to a very receptive consumer market of that period, including a water-cooled front engine, front-wheel drive, solid and robust bodywork with a functional but equally attractive design. The high quality to price ratio was the real & ldquo;competitive edge & rdquo; that made the Golf so successful however. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1975, the sporty version Golf GTI was introduced which incorporated the high performance 110 HP 1,600 cc engine. The following year saw the mass production of the Golf GTI and in just two months it achieved notable commercial successes in many European and non-European countries. The version used by the German Police during the 1970s and early 1980s was symbolic of everyday life during that period.

The "Land Rover" was certainly one of the best known symbols of "made in England" on 4 wheels and is in fact a milestone in the history of off-road vehicles. It was born immediately after the war, with the first prototypes made in 1947, to satisfy both civil and military tasks. Inspired, even if not directly, by the American Jeep, it was characterized by 4x4 all-wheel drive and a sturdy and reliable structure capable of tackling the most difficult and demanding routes. The aluminum body made it lighter but, at the same time, more resistant to corrosion and a long service life. In 1971, when the Series III was introduced, more than a million units had already been produced and built for both civil and military use, both in the 88-inch "standard wheelbase" version or in the 109 "long wheel base" version inches, the latter reproduced in the kit.

The LC2 was built by the Italian manufacturer Lancia to compete in the World Sport Prototype Championship at the beginning of & lsquo;80s. Characterized by a clean and elegant design able to optimize the aerodynamic performance, the Lancia LC2 adopted a Ferrari V8 twin-turbocharged engine, prepared by Abarth, with a displacement of 2,599 Cm3 (later increased to 3,014 Cm3). The car made its debut in 1983 competitions where it was able to compete in terms of speed and performance to the Porsche cars, reference point in racing competition at those time. However the lower level of reliability affected the results. A lot of Italian drivers raced on the Lancia LC2 before to became famous in Formula 1 racing as Patrese, Alboreto and Nannini.

This more than 50 year old US-truck manufacturing company has an excellent reputation for quality and beautiful design of their products. In 1981 Daimler-Benz AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, one of the worlds biggest truck manufacturers, purchases the Freightliner Corporation. The company will continue all activities under the original Freightliner name. Daimler-Benz has also imported several models to Europe for demonstration purposes and truck shows. The Diablo was produced between 1990 and 2001. During this period, Lamborghini introduced several variations of the Diablo concept, the first being the Diablo VT (Visco Traction), which featured an all-wheel drive. The Diablo was destined to become the worthy heir of the renowned Miura and Countach. This newsupercar was wide, low and futuristic. And just like its predecessors, the Diablo soon became a favorite among car enthusiasts across the world. The Diablo models helped build the legend of Lamborghini and sold well. Almost 3,000 units across all series and variations found their buyers in those eleven years of evolution. The Lamborghini bosses had wished for a maximum speed of at least 320 kph, and the engineers made this wish come true: With a top speed of 325 kph and an acceleration from 0-100 in 4.5 seconds the Diablo claimed the pole position in the super sports cars segment. It delivered its power via a rear-wheel drive and came with a newly developed V12 engine. Four valves per cylinder, a computer controlled multi-point fuel injection and a displacement of 5.7 liters helped produce a maximum of 492 HP.

The Ford Escort Mk 2 was launched on the market in 1975. It was a decisive evolution compared to the Escort Mk 1 presented at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show. The previous version retained the high quality mechanics but was completely revised in the design that he interpreted the aesthetic and stylistic taste of the 70s. The Fiat 131 Abarth was built on the frame of the two-door Fiat sedan. The development made by Abarth considered several modifications and improvements starting from the reduction of the body weight using lighter materials. Then some new fenders, to permit the adoption of larger wheels, were installed and new air-intakes on the hood and on the sides to optimize the cooling of the mechanics were designed. The engine was a 4-cylinder longitudinal engine characterized by the use light alloy head and 4 valves per cylinder. The Fiat 131 Abarth was built from 1976 and it was used in the World Rally Championship where achieved important results as three manufacturers & rsquo; championship, one pilots & rsquo; championship and one FIA trophy. It took part in international competitions until 1982 when it was replaced by the Lancia brand cars.

The Lancia Delta HF four wheels-drive is considered an Icon of the Rally Competitions History. The Delta HF was produced in the second half of the 80s and participated in the World Rally Championship from 1987 to 1988 winning two world titles and achieving important results in a lot of competition as the Rallye de Monte-Carlo and the Rallye San Remo. The Lancia Delta Integrale was the evolution of the Delta HF. It was introduced in 1988 and dominated the World Rally Championship winning several constructors & rsquo; championship and an impressive number of competitions up to 1993. Updated in many aesthetic details that made it more muscular and aggressive, as the enlarged fenders and the new designed air intake on the engine bonnet, the Lancia HF Integrale was also improved in driving and engine performance. The 1995 cm3 turbocharged engine increased its power up to 185 hp. The Lancia Delta Integrale dominated the World Rally Championship between the 80s and early 90s, bringing many famous pilots as Miki Biasion or Juha Kankkunen to victory.

The Ford Escort Mk 2 was launched in 1975. It was a significant evolution compared to the Escort Mk 1 that debuted at Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. It used the reliable mechanical components as the Mk 1 but adopted a new design based on a squared-style look able to be in line with the aesthetic and stylistic taste of the 70s. The product range was wide, declined in three body styles (2 doors, 4 doors and 3 doors station wagon), five type of engines and a significant variety of settings and configurations. The Escort Mk 2 was mainly produced in the Ford Group German plants and achieved a good commercial success. In addition to the more classic version, it was also released the Escort Sport version characterized by a more aggressive look and distinctive sport interiors. To compete, successfully, in World Rally Championship, a dedicated model, the RS 1800, was introduced to complete the line up. Successful results has been achieved. The team Waldeg & aring;rd Bj & ouml;rn - Thorszelius Hans, that got the second place in the Wordl-famous Monte Carlo Rally in 1979, won the World Rally Championship at the end of the year. The Motosport team also achieved excellent results with the other team, ranked fifth in the Monaco 1979 sport event, formed by Mikkola Hannu and Hertz Arnee.
