Dr. John, The Night Tripper Gris-Gris Mono LP (Green Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt;
& lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Original 1968 Mono Mix On Limited Edition Green Vinyl LP! & lt;br & gt;
Sourced From The Original Master Tapes! & lt;br & gt;
Mastered by Kevin Gray & amp; Pressed at RTI! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;/header & gt;
& lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;1968 debut album from the king of the psychedelic bayou - the hypnotic, mystical and powerful sound of the swamp coming to life. & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;Upon your first entry to the world of Dr. John's debut album, Gris Gris (1968), prepare to have your expectations shattered and your mind expanded. As he became Dr. John (real name Mac Rebennack), it was his LA session work with musicians like Sonny & amp;
Cher, Canned Heat, and Zappa that allowed him to start conjuring up his visions of guitar psych-pop to walk alongside his authentic New Orleans upbringing. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;While Gris Gris contains moments that make it a type stamped symbol of its era, it might have well been made in outer space. Recorded in its own psychic and stylistic vacuum, the album borrows as heavily from the New Orleans musical culture in which he
grew up as it does the looming continuous pulse of war, heavy drugs, and the end of the free love/hippie movement. The album was taken under the wing of a small percentage of the & quot;underground & quot; upon its release in 1968 and did not find a true following
for years. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.allmusic.com & quot; & gt;
The set's masterpiece is saved for last, the nearly nearly eight-minute trance vamp in 'I Walk on Gilded Splinters' (covered by everyone from Humble Pie, Cher, and Johnny Jenkins to Paul Weller and Papa Mali). Dr. John is brazen about the power of his
spells in a slippery, evil-sounding boast. Congas, tom-toms, snaky guitar, and harmonica underscore his juju, while a backing chorus affirms his power like mambo priestesses in unison. A ghostly baritone saxophone wafts through the turnarounds. Droning
blues, steamy funk, and loopy R & amp;B are inseparably entwined in its groove.

of CBGB became their manager. The Dead Boys debut studio album, Young, Loud and Snotty, was recorded and released in 1977 and quickly became one of the definitive US Punk Rock albums. & lt;/p & gt;

Martin Denny Quiet Village LP (Black Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt;
& lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;The Big Kahuna Of Tiki On Black Vinyl LP! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;/header & gt;
& lt;p & gt;Martin Denny 'Quiet Village' originally released in 1959. Iconic album artwork reflected the fantasy of Denny's Influential fusion of tropical moods. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.allmusic.com & quot; & gt;
Despite its ubiquitous appearance in thrift stores (it is the Whipped Cream and Other Delights of exotica), this record packs quite a few surprises. First, the final track is a re-release of the number four hit and Denny signature tune, 'Quiet Village' (originally on the first Exotica LP). 'Coronation,' 'Firecracker,' and 'Sake Rock' - covered by 1990s group the Cocktails - are representative of the standard Denny oeuvre: birdcall 'Polynesian' exotica, Chinese, and Japanese. Most intriguing, however, is the self-parody treatment of 'Little Grass Shack' set to a cha-cha-cha beat and punctuated with an absurd duck call instead of the usual birds.

Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters & Bo Diddley The Super Super Blues Band LP (Color Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt;
& lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Electric Chicago Blues At Its Finest On Limited Edition Color Vinyl LP! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;/header & gt;
& lt;p & gt;Super Super Blues Band started out merely as Super Blues, a conglomerate of blues pillars & lt;strong & gt;Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters & lt;/strong & gt; and Little Walter. When Little Walter bowed out and was replaced by & lt;strong & gt;Howlin' Wolf & lt;/strong & gt;, they rightfully threw
another Super on the name, and went on to release this burning, irreverent and even sometimes hilarious set of drunken, wild-eyed electric blues. Long form jams roll on in a trance as the trio of blues legends flex egos, talking shit to each other,
trading off leads and ducking blasts of unexpected wah-wah guitar lines. Songs are peppered with an incredible level of banter between the trio of bandleaders that predicts the call and response sing-talking of early hip hop, laced with random screams
in the background that teeter between celebration and danger. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;That these three ever got into the same room together is a miracle, and that they produced something so intense, energetic and weird is another almost unbelievable feat. The record is special enough as a stand-alone document of this meeting/melting of
the minds before you find out the backing band consists of & lt;strong & gt;Hubert Sumlin, Otis Spann & lt;/strong & gt;, and freaking & lt;strong & gt;Buddy Guy & lt;/strong & gt;. Lordy. Might have needed one more & quot;Super & quot; in there. & lt;/p & gt;
