Don Cherry Live At Bracknell Jazz Festival, 1986 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Exceptional 1986 Live Set On Double LP! & lt;br & gt; Limited Edition - Only 500 Copies! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The mid-1980s were a pivotal period for Don Cherry. Much of his energies had been devoted to co-op projects like Codona and Old and New Dreams and he also helped jumpstart the Leaders. The time being ripe to form his own ensemble, Cherry created Nu, a quintet with saxophonist/flutist Carlos Ward, bassist Mark Helias, percussionist Nana Vasconcelos and drummer Ed Blackwell. Live at the Bracknell Jazz Festival, 1986 confirms Nu to be an ensemble that vigorously and cogently articulated the various aspects of the multi-instrumentalist's multicultural aesthetic. This exceptional concert recording fills a significant gap in Cherry's discography. Pretty Woman & quot;! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; By the time The Second Album was released in 1966, the Spencer Davis Group had exploded onto the British music scene thanks in no small part to the incredible talent of its young organ player and singer, a kid named Stevie Winwood who had already begun drawing comparisons to some of the greatest R & amp;B singers in history of music. The LP, again produced by Chris Blackwell, included their first No. 1 hit, a version of Jamaican singer Jackie Edwards' & quot;Keep On Running & quot;, which allowed the young Stevie to finally purchase his own Hammond. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Featuring 5 bonus tracks, including their 1966 hit single, & quot;Gimme Some Lovin' & quot; b/w & quot;Blues In F & quot;, & quot;Back Into My Life Again & quot;, the Hammond-heavy & quot;Trampoline & quot;, and their version of Roy Orbison's classic & quot;Oh! Bill Evans From Left To Right: Playing The Fender-Rhodes Electric Piano & The Steinway Piano LP (White Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Limited Edition White Vinyl Import LP! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;In the '60s the jazz pianist Bill Evans would occasionally record an orchestral & quot;easy listening & quot; session to pay the bills, with predictably mediocre results. But FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, while certainly easy on the ears, is also one of Evans' most intriguing & quot;lost & quot; records. The novelty is that Evans plays both Fender Rhodes and acoustic piano simultaneously in real time, trading off themes and improvs with deliberative taste and, of course, rare skill. The sessions were produced by Evans' long-time, protective manager Helen Keane, so there was little danger of & quot;selling out. & quot; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Unobtrusively arranged by Michael Leonard, this 1969 release resembles nothing so much as famed bossa nova composer Antonio Carlos Jobim's series of shimmering instrumental albums with arranger Claus Ogerman, even without those gently relentless rhythms driving every tune. Still, the highlight of this album is the dancing two-part & quot; The Dolphin - Before & amp; After & quot;, a non-Jobim bossa nova which allows Evans his only extended improvisations.
