Drive-By Truckers Third Man Live LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Recorded Straight to Tape! Southern Rock! Includes & quot;Used To Be A Cop & quot;! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Live recording from the performance at Third Man Records on 01.30.10. Exclusive live LP recorded straight to tape from the Drive-By Truckers concert at Third Man Records, Nashville. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Drive-By Truckers are an alternative country/Southern rock band based in Athens, Georgia, though two out of five current members (Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley) are originally from The Shoals region of Northern Alabama, and the band strongly identifies with Alabama. Their music uses three guitars as well as bass, drums, and now keyboards. Like many alternative country acts, the Drive-By Truckers record in analog (using 2 inch, 16-track open reel tape recorders). However, unlike the majority of their contemporaries, the Drive-By Truckers have consistently pushed their labels to also release the band's records in a vinyl format. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Boasting a mix of Southern pride, erudite lyrics, and a muscled three-guitar attack, Drive-By Truckers became one of the most well-respected alternative country-rock acts of the 2000s. Led by frontman Patterson Hood and featuring a rotating cast of Georgia and Alabama natives, the band celebrated the South while refusing to paint over its spotty past. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Andrew Leahey, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Live Album & lt;br & gt; • Recorded Straight to Tape from the Drive-By Truckers Concert at Third Man Records, Nashville & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;img src= & quot;/content/images/drivebytruckers.jpg & quot; hspace=15 align= & quot;right & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;John Neff, guitar, pedal steel guitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; Shonna Tucker, bass, guitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; Patterson Hood, guitar, bass, vocals & lt;br & gt; Mike Cooley, guitar, bass, vocals & lt;br & gt; Jay Gonzalez, keyboards, guitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; Brad Morgan, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;1. No Editing. Direct-To-Acetate Recording. Mixed in Real Time & amp; Instantly Cut to Vinyl Using a 1953 Scully Lathe, Formerly of King Records. The Blue Room is One of the Only Live Venues in the World with Direct-To-Acetate Capabilities. & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Shins' story begins in Albuquerque, NM, in 1996. Brought together by a genuine love of pop music – and subsequent eschewal of college aspirations – singer/guitarist James Mercer, drummer Jesse Sandoval, keyboardist Marty Crandall and bassist Dave Hernandez formed The Shins. Mercer had taught himself to play the guitar as a teenager, while listening to bands like My Bloody Valentine and Echo & amp; The Bunnymen. With time, he developed a more pronounced interest in ‘60s pop and the art of well-crafted songwriting. Mercer’s aesthetic, paired with the like-minded sensibilities of his bandmates, gave rise to this most friendly troupe of disbelieving pop heroes. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; What can be said about The Shins that hasn't already been said in miles of press? They're one of the best bands out there today and Third Man Records are still honored thinking back to the night James Mercer and his band came to the Blue Room to play live and record a live LP for them, October 8, 2012. This show holds a particularly special place in their hearts, as it was the inaugural groove-carving voyage of their 1953 Scully Lathe that previously churned out masters for Cincinnati’s legendary King Records. The 8 tracks on this live recording mark their first ever cut live direct-to-acetate, and they couldn't be more pleased with the way this turned out. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;We believe that this new/old method of recording is as honest as it gets, bringing listeners as close to the experience of the performance as possible (of course, that is until our team of talented engineers and tinkerers manage to gather all the necessary parts to get our time machine and teletransporter back up and running.) & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Third Man Records & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;//www.youtube.com/embed/eOx6BcWQgno & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • Mixed in Real Time on a Rupert Neve 5008 Console by Grammy Award-winning Engineer Vance Powell & lt;br & gt; • Instantly Cut to Vinyl by Master Cutter George Ingram using a 1953 Scully Lathe (previously used by Cincinnati's King Records) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Quentin Tarantino The Hateful Eight Soundtrack 180g 2LP Third Man (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;The Absolute Sound Top New Vinyl Release of 2016! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;180g Vinyl Double LP Soundtrack To 2015 Film! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Hateful Eight is the 8th film by two-time Academy Award winner Quentin Tarantino, and the first time he has made a film with a dedicated score. Who better to help create and coordinate his first dedicated score than the legendary film composer and Academy Award winner, Ennio Morricone? Tarantino has used Morricone pieces in each of his most recent six films, including Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. The Hateful Eight marks the first time the two have collaborated throughout the production of the film to create a complete picture: bringing together the sounds, sights, and passionate grit to fabricate a truly well rounded piece of smart art. Morricone started writing music at the age of six and has been composing critically acclaimed film scores since the 1960s when his career was launched after composing the score to The Man with No Name trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. Morricone established himself as the master of spaghetti western scores and later on began working in all genres of film with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Federico Felini, Roman Polanski, and Roland Joffe putting him on par with the major composers and establishing him as one of the all-time greats, composing soundtracks for over 400 film and TV projects. He has made his mark on film by blending jazz, folk, blues, funk, and classical music to make for brilliantly simple scores that set him apart from the rest. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In Tarantino's tradition of not confining his soundtrack selections to space or time periods, the soundtrack also features songs from Roy Orbison, David Hess, and The White Stripes to round everything out. Hateful Eight is the most sweeping and narrative soundtrack Tarantino has released yet, and is sure to become a classic. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; The maestro himself conducted the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in a recording session at Abbey Road, presented here with a sound and mix that simply could not be better. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Mark Milano, & lt;i & gt;The Absolute Sound & lt;/i & gt;, 4/5 Music, 4.5/5 Sonics & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 60''x12'' poster & lt;br & gt; • 36''x12'' poster & lt;br & gt; • 12-page booklet insert with stills from the movie & lt;br & gt; • Tri-fold reversible jacket with soft-touch finish & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;br & gt; Side A & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. This material finds Jack White expanding his musical palate with perhaps his most ambitious work thus far, a collection of songs that are simultaneously timeless and modern. Written and conceived while holed up in a Spartan apartment with literally no outside world distractions, White exclusively used the same kind of gear he had when he was 15 years old (a quarter-inch four-track tape recorder, a simple mixer, and the most basic of instrumentation). The album explores a remarkable range of sonic terrain -- crunching rock ‘n’ roll, electro and hard funk, proto punk, hip hop, gospel blues, and even country -- all remapped and born anew to fit White’s matchless vision and sense of restless experimentation. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; BOARDING HOUSE REACH was produced by Jack White III and recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN, Sear Sound in New York, NY, and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, CA. The album was mixed by Bill Skibbe, Joshua V. Smith, and White at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN. The album features White on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars and drums, organ, and synthesizers. He’s backed by a remarkable new lineup of musicians that includes: drummer & lt;b & gt;Louis Cato & lt;/b & gt; (Beyoncé, Q-Tip, John Legend, Mariah Carey), bassists & lt;b & gt;Charlotte Kemp & lt;/b & gt; Muhl (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger) and & lt;b & gt;NeonPhoenix & lt;/b & gt; (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), synthesizer players & lt;b & gt;DJ Harrison & lt;/b & gt; and & lt;b & gt;Anthony & quot;Brew & quot; Brewster & lt;/b & gt; (Fishbone, The Untouchables), keyboardists & lt;b & gt;Neal Evans & lt;/b & gt; (Soulive, Talib Kweli, John Scofield) and & lt;b & gt;Quincy McCrary & lt;/b & gt; (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pitbull), percussionists & lt;b & gt;Bobby Allende & lt;/b & gt; (David Byrne, Marc Anthony) and & lt;b & gt; Justin Porée & lt;/b & gt; (Ozomatli), and backing vocalists & lt;b & gt;Esther Rose & lt;/b & gt; and & lt;b & gt;Ann & amp; Regina & lt;/b & gt; & lt;b & gt;McCrary & lt;/b & gt; of Nashville’s beloved gospel trio, The McCrary Sisters, as well as longtime collaborators like drummers & lt;b & gt;Daru Jones & lt;/b & gt; (Nas, Talib Kweli) and & lt;b & gt;Carla Azar & lt;/b & gt; (Autolux, Depeche Mode, Doyle Bramhall II). Singer-songwriter & lt;b & gt;C.W. Some were fully finished, some just started. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The odyssey of Hank Williams' notebooks is recounted in the album's liner notes, penned by Michael McCall from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, who observes, & lt;b & gt; & quot; The history of Hank's notebooks is as complex as the legend himself. Yet, in the end, what matters most are the songs, and these new works rise from the ether with ghostly relevance. As with his many standards, these new recordings tap straight into the soul of man. This is songwriting at its most artful and most powerful. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The release of The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams provides an audio companion to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Family Tradition: The Williams Family Legacy, a 5,000 square foot exhibition presenting an intimate portrait of a great American musical dynasty. Family Tradition, which opened in March 2008, is the largest and most popular temporary exhibition in the institution's history with over 3 million visitors. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Bonus CD included & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. While the A-side of & quot;Hating & quot; manages genre hop as well as anything Mr. Hansen has done in the past, the flip side of & quot;Blue Randy & quot; has a certain timeless quality that feels like it would equally be at home on any past release whether it be & quot; One Foot in the Grave & quot; or & quot;Sea Change. & quot; & lt;br & gt; Beck is one of the greatest artists of our time and we are beyond honored to be able to release such a pivotal record in his already-golden catalog. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Both tracks were recorded in 2011 while Beck was in Nashville working on new material for his long awaited next album. The songs spontaneously came together at the Third Man studio on Beck's final day in town. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Remember funny Nineties Beck? (As opposed to bummed-out Sea Change Beck?) That dude is back! Working with his buddy Jack White, Beck lays down a goofy, side-fueled country stomp, [I Just Started Hating People Today] that's a sun-soaked taste of Mellow Gold grooviness. Blind Willie McTell Complete Recorded Works Vol. 1 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180 Gram Vinyl! Includes & quot;Statesboro Blues & quot;! One of the Most Accomplished Guitarists and Lyrical Storytellers in Blues History! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Born William Samuel McTell in 1901, Blind Willie lost his sight in late childhood, yet earned the status as one of the most accomplished guitarists and lyrical storytellers in Blues history. Blind Willie became an accomplished musical theorist, able to both read and write music in Braille, through an encouraging family and strong faith. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; While few of his recordings ever earned mainstream popularity, his influence on the modern music and art scene is widely known. His songs (Statesboro Blues, Broke Down Engine Blues, etc…) have been recorded by famous artists such as the Allman Brothers, Taj Mahal and others. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; He left the music scene for the pulpit in later life and the details of Blind Willie’s death remain nebulous; nonetheless, his legacy grows exponentially each year. You have to maintain a certain tolerance for ambiguity to understand how a disabled African American from central Georgia in the early part of the 20th century could inspire the likes of the most successful and influential Blues, Jazz and Rock musicians of our time. While accomplished and appreciated in his day, Blind Willie was never truly successful by today’s standards. His real claim to success has been realized in his gift to future generations. In his lifetime, overcoming physical and social adversity was part of the program. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Blind Willie McTell's Volume 1 from Third Man's highly-anticipated Document Records reissue series on black 180-gram vinyl, remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson features brand new artwork by Grammy-award-winning designer Rob Jones. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The recordings we'll be presenting in this reissue series are the building blocks and DNA of American culture. The Mississippi Sheiks Complete Recorded Works Vol. 1 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180 Gram Vinyl! Includes & quot;Sitting On Top Of The World & quot;! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Mississippi Sheiks consisted mainly of the Chatmon family, who came from Bolton, Mississippi and were well known throughout the Mississippi Delta. The father of the family, Henderson Chatmon, had been a & quot;musicianer & quot; (someone with good technical ability on his or her instrument adept at sight-reading written music) during slavery times, and his children carried on the musical spirit. Their most famous (although by no means permanent) member was Armenter Chatmon - better known as Bo Carter - who managed a successful solo career as well as playing with the Sheiks, which may have contributed to their success. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; When the band first recorded in 1930, the line-up consisted of Carter with Lonnie and Sam Chatmon, and Walter Vinson. Charlie McCoy (not to be confused with Charlie McCoy, a later American musician) played later, when Bo Carter and Sam Chatmon ceased playing full time. It was Lonnie Chatmon and Vinson who formed the real center of the group. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Bo Carter's solo work is notable for being sexually suggestive in songs and this is carried on to an extent with the group. They primarily earned their income like Robert Johnson and Skip James. They toured throughout the Southern United States, but also reached as far north as Chicago and New York. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Their first and biggest success was & quot;Sitting on Top of the World & quot; (1930), later to be recorded by Bob Wills (numerous times), Howlin' Wolf, Nat King Cole, Bill Monroe, Harry Belafonte, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Cream, Grateful Dead, Jeff Healey, John Lee Hooker, Bill Frisell and Jack White, and re-done by Robert Johnson, as & quot;Come On in My Kitchen & quot;. The song was also the theme to the film A Face in the Crowd (1957) produced by Elia Kazan and starring Andy Griffith. Throughout their five active years, the Mississippi Sheiks recorded over seventy songs for the Okeh, Paramount and Bluebird labels. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Mississippi Sheiks' Volume 1 from Third Man's highly-anticipated Document Records reissue series on black 180-gram vinyl, remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson and features brand new artwork by Grammy-award-winning designer Rob Jones. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The recordings we'll be presenting in this reissue series are the building blocks and DNA of American culture. Now Third Man and Revenant proudly bring you The Rise & amp; Fall of Paramount, Volume Two - already being hailed by Wired as & lt;b & gt; & quot;the ultimate box set of iconic American music. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Volume One (1917-27) chronicled Paramount's improbable rise from also-ran to jazz-blues juggernaut, launching the recording careers of giants like King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Alberta Hunter, Blind Blake, Ethel Waters, Ma Rainey, Papa Charlie Jackson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Fats Waller. But just as it seemed Paramount might be losing steam, it began a second act that threatened to dwarf its first. This astonishing second act is the subject of The Rise & amp; Fall of Paramount, Volume Two (1928-32), the final chapter in their commemoration of America's greatest record label. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In its final 5 year push from 1928-32, Paramount embarked on a furious run for the ages, birthing the entire genre of Mississippi Delta blues recordings and issuing some of the most coveted records in the history of wax - a staggering playlist including Skip James, Charley Patton, Son House, Tommy Johnson, Willie Brown, King Solomon Hill, Tampa Red, Lottie Kimbrough, Rube Lacy, Meade Lux Lewis, Buddy Boy Hawkins, Jaydee Short, George & quot;Bullet & quot; Williams, Cow Cow Davenport, Clifford Gibson, Ishman Bracey, Louise Johnson, Geeshie Wiley & amp; Elvie Thomas, The Mississippi Sheiks. and hundreds of other artists. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Paramount simply killed. But more than that, it changed how this country thought of itself. It was the first enterprise of any kind to capture what America really sounded like in the 1920s and '30s - on its street corners, at its fish fries and country suppers, in its nightclubs and dance halls and showtents. In the process, it was profit-minded Paramount - not a preservationist body like the Library of Congress - that inadvertently created the most significant repository of this young nation's greatest art form. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Volume Two contains six LPs, a sculpted metal USB drive with 800 digital tracks, two definitive large-format books. All housed in a polished aluminum case evoking the era's high art deco stylings and America's own Machine Age take on modernist design. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;//www.youtube.com/embed/d0w4otJ1uVw?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 6 x 180g LPs pressed on alabaster-white label-less vinyl, each side with its own hand-etched numeral and holographic image & lt;br & gt; • Polished aluminum and stainless steel cabinet, evoking 1930s high art deco stylings and America's own Machine Age modernism & lt;br & gt; • 800 newly-remastered digital tracks, representing 175 artists & lt;br & gt; • 90+ fully-restored original 1920s-30s Paramount ads from Chicago Defender & lt;br & gt; • 250 pg. large-format clothbound hardcover book featuring original Paramount art and the label's curious tale & lt;br & gt; • 400 pg. encyclopedia-style softcover field guide containing artist bios & amp; portraits and full Paramount discography & lt;br & gt; • First-of-its-kind music and image player app containing all tracks and ads, housed on sculpted metal USB drive & lt;br & gt; • Dimensions: 19 & quot; x 19 & quot; x 11 & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP Tracklist & lt;br & gt; LP 1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The answer lies in ‘The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records 1917-1932,’ this epic, two-volume omnibus of art, words and music housed in a limited-edition, hand-sculpted cabinet-of-wonder, jointly released by Jack White’s Third Man Records and John Fahey’s Revenant Records. ‘Volume One,’ covers the label’s improbable rise from 1917-1927. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Paramount Records was founded on a modest proposition: produce records as cheaply as possible, recording whatever talent was available. Over its lifetime, the label would become a “race records” powerhouse, its sound and fortunes directly linked to the Great Migration. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The first volume in this collection was called & quot;spectacular & quot; (New York Times), & quot;unprecedented & quot; (Rolling Stone), & quot;breathtaking & quot; (Boing Boing), and & quot;a cabinet of wonder, indeed & quot; (Pitchfork). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Volume One (1917-27) chronicles Paramount's improbable rise from also-ran to jazz-blues juggernaut, launching the recording careers of giants like King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Alberta Hunter, Blind Blake, Ethel Waters, Ma Rainey, Papa Charlie Jackson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Fats Waller. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The ‘Rise and Fall’ wonder-cabinet gives equal status to page-turning narrative and new scholarship; original and newly created graphic art; industrial design; and compelling analog and digital music experiences. ‘Volume One’ contains the following: & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• 6x 180g vinyl LPs pressed on burled chestnut colored vinyl w/ hand-engraved, blind-embossed gold-leaf labels, housed in a laser-etched white birch LP folio & lt;br & gt; • Handcrafted quarter-sawn oak cabinet with lush sage velvet upholstery and custom-forged metal hardware & lt;br & gt; • 800 newly-remastered digital tracks, representing 172 artists & lt;br & gt; • 200+ fully-restored original 1920s ads and images & lt;br & gt; • 250 page deluxe large-format clothbound hardcover art book & lt;br & gt; • 360 page encyclopedia-style softcover field guide containing artist portraits and full Paramount discography & lt;br & gt; • First-of-its-kind music and image player app, allowing user mgmt of all tracks and ads, housed on custom-designed USB drive & lt;br & gt; • Dimensions: Length 18.5 & quot;/ Width 16 & quot;/ Height 5.75 & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Dead Weather Dodge and Burn LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;2016 Grammy Nominee! Vinyl LP From Jack White & amp; Company! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The musical adventure by Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), epitomizes the alt-rock ethic--do the music you love, do it yourself, and do it fast. The Dead Weather brings together lead singer Alison Mosshart (half of the London-based lo-fi post-punk duo The Kills), Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita, The Raconteurs' bassist Jack Lawrence, and White on drums and vocals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Born as a one-off collaboration between friends and tour mates, The Dead Weather has since evolved into one of the most vital and provocative bands in contemporary rock ‘n’ roll. Together Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita, and Jack Lawrence have created a dark magic all their own, a heady brew of melding heavy riffs, thick beats, and blues snarl with raw soul power and unrelenting sexual energy. Dodge and Burn – the band’s third album and first full-length release in five years – sees The Dead Weather pushing their creative line of attack to its very limits on ferocious tracks like “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles)” and the brutally beautiful “Buzzkill(er).” & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded in Nashville during breaks in each member’s ever-busy schedules, Dodge and Burn was heralded back in October 2013 as the band and Third Man Records announced an innovative long-term plan that would see a series of Dead Weather 7-inch singles released via The Vault in the year and a half leading up to the album’s 2015 release. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Direct-to-board single pocket gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; • Printed insert & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Alison Mosshart, vocals & lt;br & gt; Jack White, drums, vocals & lt;br & gt; Dean Fertita, guitar & lt;br & gt; Jack Lawrence, bass & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The album, arranged in chronological order, includes acoustic songs made famous by The White Stripes, beginning with “Sugar Never Tasted So Good” (originally found on The White Stripes’ second-ever 7-inch single) and then lighting upon favorites like “Apple Blossom” and “I’m Bound To Pack It Up” (remixed here from the original recordings on 2000’s & lt;em & gt;De Stijl & lt;/em & gt;), “Hotel Yorba” and “We’re Going To Be Friends” (from 2001’s & lt;em & gt;White Blood Cells & lt;/em & gt;), “You’ve Got Her In Your Pocket” and “Well It’s True That We Love One Another” (from 2003’s Grammy® Award-winning & lt;em & gt;Elephant & lt;/em & gt;), “Forever For Her (Is Over For Me),” “White Moon” and “As Ugly As I Seem” (from 2005’s & lt;em & gt;Get Behind Me Satan & lt;/em & gt;) “Effect & amp; Cause” (from 2007’s & lt;em & gt; Icky Thump & lt;/em & gt;), and the Beck-produced “Honey, We Can’t Afford To Look This Cheap,” first found on the B-side to The White Stripes’ final single, 2007’s “Conquest.” & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; “City Lights” was written for The White Stripes’ & lt;em & gt;Get Behind Me Satan & lt;/em & gt; but then forgotten until White revisited the 2005 album for Third Man’s Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue and finished the recording in 2016. The track is the first new, worldwide commercially released White Stripes song since 2008. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Also featured are “Never Far Away” (recorded for 2003’s & lt;em & gt;Cold Mountain: Music From The Miramax Motion Picture & lt;/em & gt;) and “Love Is The Truth” (written and recorded for Coca-Cola’s 2006 & lt;em & gt;What Goes Around & lt;/em & gt; campaign) as well as the Bluegrass Version of “Top Yourself” and an acoustic mix of the epic murder ballad, “Carolina Drama,” both written by White and Brendan Benson for The Raconteurs’ Grammy® Award-winning 2008 album, & lt;em & gt; Consolers Of The Lonely & lt;/em & gt;. White’s two chart-topping solo albums, 2012’s & lt;em & gt;Blunderbuss & lt;/em & gt; and 2014’s & lt;em & gt;Lazaretto & lt;/em & gt;, are represented by a remarkably diverse range of material including “Love Interruption,” “On And On And On,” “Blunderbuss,” “Entitlement,” “Want And Able,” and alternative mixes of “Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy,” “Just One Drink,” “I Guess I Should Go To Sleep,” and B-side, “Machine Gun Silhouette.” & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;strong & gt;“This, like (Son House’s) ‘Grinnin’ In Your Face,’ is mirror-music,” & lt;/strong & gt; writes renowned music journalist Greil Marcus of “City Lights” in the album’s exclusive liner notes, & lt;strong & gt;“the singer talking to himself, trying to tell himself the truth, which he’s going to need if he’s going to step out of his door, walk into the world, and fool himself, for just a second, that he’s ready to take it on. As you listen, it’s no surprise at all that it took most of White’s music-making life to bring the song home.” & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The 26 tracks featured on Jack White & lt;em & gt;Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 & lt;/em & gt; were remastered by Andrew Mendelson at Nashville, TN’s Georgetown Masters. All songs were written and produced exclusively by Jack White, except “Never Far Away” (produced by T Bone Burnett), “Honey, We Can’t Afford To Look This Cheap” (produced by Beck), “Top Yourself (Bluegrass Version)” and “Carolina Drama” (written & amp; produced by White & amp; Brendan Benson), and “Machine Gun Silhouette” (written by White & amp; Rob Jones). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • Remastered by Andrew Mendelson at Nashville, TN’s Georgetown Masters & lt;br & gt; • Includes limited time digital download card & lt;br & gt; • 12 & quot; x 12 & quot; Insert & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold Jacket & lt;/p & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; 1. & lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;Classic Debut Album Reissued on Vinyl LP Features Guest Artist Joe Venuti! & lt;br & gt; Album Cover Designed by Animator Chuck Jones! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Third Man Records is proud to announce the release of jazz and roots legend Leon Redbone's debut album On the Track. The news of the Third Man release follows the recent announcement of Leon Redbone's retirement from both public appearances and recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On the Track – Leon Redbone's debut LP – was originally issued on Warner Brothers Records in 1975 and is reissued exclusively on vinyl by Third Man Records. Long Way From Home was recorded in 1972 by Dave Benders for WBFO Radio at the University of Buffalo and features some of the earliest known Leon Redbone recordings. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On The Track is among the most remarkable debut albums of 1975 or any other year, a reverent and remarkably authentic revival of late 19th century and early 20th century popular music, spanning Roaring Twenties radio ditties, Depression-era ragtime, the folk-jazz of World War II, and still-sung favorites by songwriters like Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael & amp; Johnny Mercer, Fats Waller, Al Dubin & amp; Harry Warren, Lonnie Johnson, and Jimmie Rodgers. The album – which sees Redbone accompanied by such studio luminaries as drummer Steve Gadd, percussionist Ralph MacDonald, and the great double bassist Milt Hinton – was an across-the-board success, reaching #83 on Billboard’s overall “Top LPs & amp; Tape” chart amidst widespread critical acclaim. TMR’s exclusive vinyl reissue of ON THE TRACK comes in a 12” single pocket, direct-to-board replica of the original Warner Bros. Records release, with classic cover art featuring a Chuck Jones illustration of Merrie Melodies star Michigan J. Frog. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Album Cover by Animator Chuck Jones & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Muddy Waters Rollin' Stone/Walkin' Blues 45rpm 7" Vinyl
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;45rpm 7 & quot; Vinyl Single! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Originally released as a 78rpm 10'' shellac in 1950, this now-legendary Chicago blues A-side changed the course of Western Music. This one song's influence has been felt all over the world, not to mention its place as the early, primary inspiration for Mick Jagger and company to launch as The Rolling Stones. Anything that made the Stones engage an entire generation of young people can ultimately be traced back to Muddy Waters and this song is ground zero for the rock-n-roll that blew everyone's minds. Walkin' Blues, the B-side, is a standard 12-bar blues song that kicks off with 4 high-pitched staccato strums of the guitar and riffs on the everyday struggle of getting yourself to walk out the door one more time in the morning. This one's straightforward, stirring and maybe even more relatable in the 21st century. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm 7 & quot; Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side A: & lt;/b & gt; Rollin' Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side B: & lt;/b & gt; Walkin' Blues

This song is a staple in the Chicago blues subgenre and also served as a particularly important inspiration for loads of young British musicians, leading up to what would become the British Invasion of the 1960s. Notably, this is the only recording not featuring frequent collaborator Little Walter on harmonica (but was one of the few recordings with & lt;b & gt;Junior Wells & lt;/b & gt;) during what was arguably Waters' most fruitful creative period for single blues hits. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The swelling, adoring screams of women during the chorus makes this the ideal version. The B-side Young Fashioned Ways was written by friend and bandmate Willie Dixon and is another essential collaboration between the two pillars of the Chicago blues scene. & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Soulful Retro-Country Singer On Vinyl LP! & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;2019 Grammy Award Nominee: & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Best New Artist & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Featuring Willie Nelson On & quot;Learning To Lose & quot;! & lt;br & gt; One of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Albums of 2017! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A lot can change in a year: markets boom and bust, trends come and go, presidents get elected. In 2015, Margo Price was a country underdog just trying to keep enough gas in the tank to get to the next gig, but by the end of 2016, she was one of the genre's most celebrated new artists and a ubiquitous presence on late night television and at major festivals around the world. It's the kind of year most musicians can only dream of, and the arrival of Price's spectacular sophomore album, All American Made, proves that she hasn't taken a moment of it for granted. Delivering on the promise of her debut and then some, the record finds Price planting her flag firmly in the soil as a songwriter who's here for the long haul, one with the chops to hang with the greats she so often finds herself sharing stages with these days. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A prolific writer with a knack for candid self-reflection, Price has never had to look too far for inspiration, and on All American Made, she and her songwriting partner/ husband, Jeremy Ivey, continue to depict the trials of everyday life with unflinching honesty, painting poetically plainspoken portraits of men and women just trying to get by. Highs and lows, long nights and hard days, wild women and cocaine cowboys, politics and sexism, it's all in there, singularly filtered through Price's wry, no-bullshit perspective. Throughout the album, her contemporary take on classic sounds is at once familiar and daring, an infectious blend of Nashville country, Memphis soul, and Texas twang that tips its cap to everyone from Waylon and Willie (who makes a guest appearance) to Loretta and Dolly, all while flipping a middle finger to the cookie-cutter pop that dominates modern country radio. Rich with swirling pedal steel, honky-tonk rhythms, and Price's stop-you-in-your-tracks vocals, All American Made is deeply reverent of tradition even as it challenges conventions, a nuanced exploration of conflicted emotions for our deeply conflicted times. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; It's tough to find a truer voice than Margo Price. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Vice Noisey & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A singular voice, aching with desperation and resolve. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - NY Times Magazine & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Margo Price's 2016 debut, Midwest Farmer's Daughter, established her as one of the sharpest songwriters in Nashville, but her second LP upped the ante in remarkable fashion. All American Made is a fierce protest album about the ways that the American dream has failed so many – see the feminist ballad 'Pay Gap,' where she channels Loretta Lynn and Donna Summer for a frank discussion of capitalism's double standards. It's also a reverent tribute to music's past, featuring a tender duet with Willie Nelson and a slew of other songs that recall his Seventies heyday. No other country act, and precious few from any genre, went nearly as deep as Price did this year. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Rolling Stone, 50 Best Albums of 2017 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Sam Phillips Recording, Memphis, TN & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The album, which Chess originally released in 1968 has not seen a legitimate domestic vinyl release since 2002, despite its enormous influence on generations of blues rockers. It features members of Rotary Connection as Muddy's backing band and was very controversial upon its release for its fusion of electric blues with psychedelic elements. Of writing & quot;Connected By Love & quot;, White tells Rolling Stone that & quot;I just started humming notes out loud, staring out the window. After that, you really can't explain it. You just have to get out of the way and let it happen. And you don't really notice it as it's happening. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; The four-year wait is over. On Wednesday, Jack White released 'Connected by Love,' the blistering first single from his upcoming new album Boarding House Reach. The song is a woozy plea for forgiveness from a lover who has burned all his bridges. Recorded with musicians who regularly play in the hip-hop world, 'Connected by Love' sounds more modern than his previous solo material, albeit with a psychedelic edge. Alongside 'Connected by Love,' White also unveiled 'Respect Commander,' a polyrhythmic rocker that opens with a nod to classic Detroit techno before morphing into a slow-burn guitar-heavy track. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/WyWqEFeKX2E & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm 7 & quot; Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side A: & lt;/b & gt;Connected By Love & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side B: & lt;/b & gt; Respect Commander

Caetano Veloso Caetano Veloso 180g LP (Mono) (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;TAS Rated 5/5 Music, 3.5/5 Sonics in the October 2019 Issue of The Absolute Sound! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g Vinyl Mono LP! & lt;br & gt; Remastered From Original 1967 Mono Mixes! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Tropicália art movement of the late 1960s, with flourishes in visual art, poetry, theatre and music, is one of Brazil’s most adored cultural concoctions. It was a movement which began out of necessity, shortly after a repressive military dictatorship seized power after 20 years of peaceful democracy. The term Tropicália first came from the mind of Brazilian visual artist Hélio Oiticica, whose eponymous piece consisted of a sandy maze bordered by tropical Brazilian flora and, at the end, a television set. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Through satirizing symbols of their homeland and rejecting a pre-established national culture, the Tropicalists constructed a new form of “aggressive nationalism” outside of an innately anti-imperialist Left and an unthinkingly patriotic Right. By refusing to accept underdevelopment as their identity and & lt;br & gt; excitedly “devouring” disparate culture (low and high brow, domestic and foreign, etc.), the Tropicalists carved out a unifying creative space, a universal sound, different from the older, bourgeois bossa nova movement and the newer, undiscerning rock movement. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Caetano Veloso’s self-titled debut solo album is one of the most important and influential Brazilian (and, dare we say, South American) albums of all time. With the release of this seminal album, Veloso would become the leading voice of Tropicália. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The songs on this album immediately connected with people. Alegria, Algeria was his breakout hit that gained traction as a hymn for liberty advocates, juxtaposing images of Coca Cola, guerrilla groups, bombs and Brigitte Bardot as part of the everyday experience. The album’s first song Tropicália was & lt;br & gt; an anthem for the whole movement; it’s a fragmented allegory, a structure borrowed from friends in the concrete poetry scene, touching on divergent cultural symbols, events, allusions and idioms, nimbly representing and critiquing the many contradictions in the new Brazilian dictatorship. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Superbacana (translated as “Supergroovy”) follows a hyperbolic superhero’s use of technology to fight a gang of cowboys led by the money-hungry Uncle Scrooge, serving as allusions to American imperialism and greed felt in their country, all in the rapid-fire structure of a comic book. The subtext in all these songs, which the dictatorship would not immediately catch, were that these repressed but glaring contradictions, not the bountiful sunny paradise that the military regime was pushing, were the true national identity. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Unfortunately, these cleverly veiled jabs in Veloso and his contemporaries’ bodies of work gained greater and greater exposure as the movement became more and more popular, leading to the arrest, imprisonment and forced exile of Veloso and many of his cohort. Despite these difficulties, the Tropicalists continued creating in exile, strongly influencing artists both at home and abroad. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This is the first authorized North American vinyl issue of Caetano Veloso. Whether you’re a longtime fan or first-time listener, Third Man Records could not be more proud to spread the compelling story of this album, this artist and the Tropicália movement. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Remastered from 1967 mono mixes by Warren Deferrer, Bill Skibbe (Third Man Mastering) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;At a remove of five decades, Caetano Veloso's second album, and first solo effort, sounds like light entertainment with its hip-swinging Latin rhythms and frothy performances. At the time of its release in Veloso's native Brazil, though, albums like this and the music being made by his cohorts in the Tropicalismo movement were viewed as one of the biggest threats to the military dictatorship in the country. And it wasn't just infusing the traditional sounds of the region with psychedelia and pop. Veloso's lyrics are brash and razor-sharp, delivered in a smooth tenor that only makes the medicine of lines like, 'Before the permanent night spreads through Latin America/the name of the man is the people' and 'In the faces of presidents/in big kisses of love/of teeth, legs, flags/bombs and Brigitte Bardot' sting even more. This album has never before been giving a proper vinyl release here in the States, but thanks to the good people at Third Man Records and their careful, almost artisan-like treatment of recorded music, this vital document of a cultural movement and one of the most important figures within it has not lost an iota of its artistry and urgency. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Paste Magazine & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...Remastered from original mono mixes at Third Man Mastering in Detroit, the vinyl skillfully captures an artist who seems fascinated by all the things a studio can do; seldom has mono sounded so rich and full. You feel the excitement of someone eager to explore, experiment, take chances; though the message is sometimes dead serious, the album abounds with playfulness, a reverence for pop culture, and the joy of music making. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Jeff Wilson, & lt;i & gt;The Absolute Sound & lt;/i & gt;, October 2019 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Mono & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; First ever authorized North American vinyl release & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Remastered from the original 1967 mono mixes by Warren Deferrer, Bill Skibbe (Third Man Mastering) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Rhythmically, this older version's beat is an opiate, repetitive and soothing, that's gotta be played three times in a row for full effect. The B-side Sad, Sad Day would later be found on the London Muddy Waters Sessions dressed in draping psych, but this original version is a candid and teary-eyed lament complete with perfectly warbling guitar and harmonica interplay. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm 7 & quot; Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side A: & lt;/b & gt; She's All Right & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side B: & lt;/b & gt; Sad, Sad Day

From their inauspicious start as the long-forgotten Primettes, to their ascension past the moniker of & quot;no-hit Supremes & quot; through the ranks of Motown's rank-and-file to globe-trotting superstars, this group is as pure and quintessential Detroit Motor City as you can get. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Originally released on 2xCD in in 2008, the Supremes & quot;Supreme Rarities & quot; from the Motown Lost & amp; Found Series collects from the depths of the label archives to showcase the rarities, the outtakes and the incomparable live recordings from this inimitable group of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Listen to the story unfold from the innocent teenaged doo-wop of & quot; You Can Depend On Me & quot; from 1960 all the way through the slick, socially-conscious refinement of & quot;I’m Livin' in Shame & quot; from 1969. Aside a handful of forgotten vinyl releases decades ago, the majority of this material has not been released on vinyl. Until now. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Third Man, in a unique partnership with Universal Music, has taken this double-CD and turned it into a glorious 4xLP collection housed in an impeccably-designed slipcase, all watercolor pastel vibrant photos highlight how absolutely impeccable this group is. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Of particular interest is that & quot;Supreme Rarities & quot; are the first Motown records EVER pressed in the city of Detroit. Diana Ross attended high school at Cass Tech, a mere mile away from Third Man Pressing where these this title was lovingly pressed, which is also just a mile away from the Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects where Ross and fellow Supremes Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard all grew up. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The 48 tracks included here include the earliest Primettes tracks, invigorating covers of The Rolling Stones' & quot;Satisfaction & quot; and the Beatles' & quot;I Saw Her Standing There & quot;, along with renditions of hits for OTHER Motown artists like & quot;Mickey's Monkey & quot; and & quot;Uptight (Everything's Alright) & quot; in addition to alternate vocal takes of stone cold certified smashes like & quot; You Can't Hurry Love & quot; and & quot;Someday We'll Be Together & quot;. And if you want the hits medley, & quot;Come See About Me & quot;, & quot;Baby Love & quot; and & quot;Stop! In the Name of Love & quot; will wonderfully whet your appetite. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180 gram vinyl. & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180 Gram Vinyl! Includes & quot;Pony Blues & quot;! Remastered by Document's Very Own Gary Atkinson and Features Brand New Artwork by Grammy-Award-Winning Designer Rob Jones! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Charley Patton, also known as Charlie Patton, was an American Delta blues musician. He is considered by many to be the & quot;Father of the Delta Blues & quot;, and is credited with creating an enduring body of American music and personally inspiring just about every Delta blues man. Musicologist Robert Palmer considers him among the most important musicians that America produced in the twentieth century. Many sources, including musical releases and his gravestone, spell his name “Charley” even though the musician himself spelled his name & quot;Charlie. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 1900, his family moved to the legendary 10,000-acre Dockery Plantation sawmill and cotton farm near Ruleville, Mississippi. It was here that both John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf fell under the Patton spell as well as Willie Brown, Tommy Johnson, and Fiddlin' Joe Martin. At Dockery, Charley fell under the tutelage of Henry Sloan, who had a new, unusual style of playing music which today would be considered very early blues. Charley followed Henry Sloan around, and, by the time he was about 19, had become an accomplished performer and songwriter in his own right, having already composed & quot;Pony Blues, & quot; a seminal song of the era. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Robert Palmer describes Patton as a & quot;jack-of all-trades bluesman & quot; who played & quot;deep blues, white hillbilly songs, nineteenth-century ballads, and other varieties of black and white country dance music with equal facility & quot;. He was extremely popular across the Southern United States and also performed annually in Chicago, Illinois and, in 1934, New York City. In contrast to the itinerant wandering of most blues musicians of his time, Patton played scheduled engagements at plantations and taverns. Long before Jimi Hendrix impressed audiences with flashy guitar playing, Patton gained notoriety for his showmanship, often playing with the guitar down on his knees, behind his head, or behind his back. Although Patton was a small man at about 5 foot 5, his gravelly voice was rumored to have been loud enough to carry 500 yards without amplification. Patton's gritty bellowing was a major influence on the singing style of his young friend Chester Burnett, who went on to gain fame in Chicago as Howlin' Wolf. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Charley Patton's Volume 1 from Third Man's highly-anticipated Document Records reissue series on black 180-gram vinyl, remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson and features brand new artwork by Grammy-award-winning designer Rob Jones. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The recordings we'll be presenting in this reissue series are the building blocks and DNA of American culture. Third Man Records is proud to present these landmark albums in conjunction with Document Records, with brand new, jaw-dropping artwork by Rob Jones and new insightful liner notes, on vinyl for the first time in decades. Every record collection should have ample room for these highly important and endlessly listenable albums. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Complete Recorded Works in Chronological Order: June 14, 1929 to Late November/Early December 1929. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• 180 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson & lt;br & gt; • Brand New Artwork by Grammy-Award-Winning Designer Rob Jones & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;1. Charley Patton Complete Recorded Works Vol. 2 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180 Gram Vinyl! Father of the Delta Blues! Influenced Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker and Many More! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Charley Patton's Volume 2 from Third Man's highly-anticipated Document Records reissue series on black 180-gram vinyl, remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson features brand new artwork by Grammy-award-winning designer Rob Jones. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• 180 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Remastered by Document's very own Gary Atkinson & lt;br & gt; • Brand New Artwork by Grammy-Award-Winning Designer Rob Jones & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;1. Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g Vinyl LP! & lt;br & gt; 2005 Best Country Album Grammy Winner! & lt;br & gt; 2005 Best Country Collaboration With Vocals Grammy Winner! & lt;br & gt;Produced And Arranged By Jack White! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album features members of The Greenhornes, The Raconteurs, and Blanche. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For fifty years now, Loretta Lynn has fashioned a body of work as artistically and commercially successful — and as culturally significant — as any female performer you’d care to name. Except it was her song craft that established a sweet, clever, and combative lyricism that, when paired with her effortless melodies, inevitably helped define any and all relevant country music that emerged in its wake. Her music has duly confronted many of the major social issues of her time and ours, while her life story is a rags-to-riches tale familiar to pop, rock and country fans alike. The Coal Miner’s Daughter — the tag refers to a hit single, an album, a best-selling autobiography, an Oscar-winning film, and to Lynn herself — has journeyed from the poverty of the Kentucky hills to Nashville superstardom, to her current status as an honest-to-goodness American icon. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This 2004 album paired the legendary Loretta Lynn with Jack White at the production helm and was met with overwhelmingly glowing praise. With all songs penned solely by Lynn, the vibe here is both raw and heartfelt. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Her most recent album, the Jack White-produced Van Lear Rose, has reminded the world yet again of Lynn’s power as a vocalist and her prowess as a songwriter. As she puts it on “Story of My Life,” the new album’s closing track: & lt;b & gt;“Not half bad for this ol’ KY girl, I guess… Here’s the story of my life. Listen close, I’ll tell it twice.” & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Tip-on sleeve & lt;br & gt; • Printed inner sleeve & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The day prior, Yusuf took to another Nashville stage entirely and performed to no one in particular - a set for himself, of two songs from his earliest days. That stage was the Third Man Records Blue Room, and that set, consisting of the A-sides from Stevens' first two singles, was recorded direct-to-acetate on Third Man's 1955 Scully lathe and is now released as the second offering in Third Man's Blue Room Sessions series. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; With artwork by world renowned illustrator Jess Rotter, this double A-side 7 & quot; features & quot;I Love My Dog & quot; and & quot;Matthew and Son & quot; performed by Yusuf and his pared-down touring band with palpable intimacy and a rare calm in the midst of a busy world tour. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm 7 & quot; Vinyl single & lt;br & gt; • Direct to Acetate & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Even so, the savvy combination of his gritty and powerful & quot;chest voice & quot; singing style coupled with his mastery of slide guitar (some report he regularly used a knife as a slide) has given him a notably influential legacy, specifically with later bluesmen Howlin’ Wolf and Robert Johnson. His story is one of high-highs and low-lows, from serving stints in prison after killing a man in a fight for a woman’s heart, but then eventually earning early release by entertaining his fellow prison-mates and penning a song for the governor, thus cementing his reputation of singing his way out of prison. Folklorists John and Alan Lomax were early supporters that brought Lead Belly to the attention of Ivy Leaguers as well as a European audience. In & quot;THE AMERICAN EPIC SESSIONS, & quot; the team has reassembled the very first electrical sound recording system from the 1920s, and invited Jack White and T Bone Burnett to produce an album of recordings by twenty of today’s greatest artists. In this beautifully filmed musical feature, these artists are given the chance to pass through the portal that brought the world into the modern era. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Engineer Nicholas Bergh has reassembled this recording system from original parts and it is now the only one left in the world. The system consists of a single microphone, a towering six-foot amplifier rack, and a live record-cutting lathe, powered by a weight-driven pulley system of clockwork gears. The musicians have roughly three minutes to record their song direct to disc before the weight hits the floor. In the 1920s, they called this & quot;catching lightning in a bottle. & quot; All the musical performances in this film are live. The audio you hear on the soundtrack is taken directly from the discs they were recorded to, with no editing or enhancements. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; American Epic: The Sessions soundtrack features Alabama Shakes, The Americans, Ana Gabriel, Ashley Monroe, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Bettye Lavettte, Bobby Ingano, Elton John, Frank Fairfield, Jerron & quot;Blind Boy & quot; Paxton, Los Lobos, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Nas, Pokey LaFarge, Raphael Saadiq, Rhiannon Giddens, Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Taj Mahal, Jack White, and Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • 3LP Set & lt;br & gt; • 20-page photo booklet & lt;br & gt; • Trifold jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
