Technologically, it's difficult to make something similar to paper cups from alternative fibers. We are currently researching to see if paper cups and bowls can be made from a mix of alternative fibers, recycled fibers, and responsibly managed wood/paper fibers to create a more sustainable product. In the meantime we carry lines that have improved on the standard paper cup. The traditional white paper cup line is achieved using Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) paper; paper bleached without using elemental chlorine. We offer this line in FSC Certified paper as it helps reinforce our commitment to responsible forestry. Our newer double walled cup line reduces the need for a paper cup sleeve. These double walled cups are also made with Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) paper. World Centric cups are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute and meet ASTM standards for compostability. Our paper & Ingeo products are guaranteed to break down in 2-3 months in industrial facilities. Please check locally for an available facility.
