MOTU Zbox Guitar Impedence Adapter
Today & apos; s guitar amp modeling plug-ins are simply amazing in their ability to faithfully model real guitar amplifiers. From IK Multimedia & apos; s Amplitube, to Waves, to Native Instruments, to Line 6, to Digital Performer & apos; s included Custom & apos; 59, you can plug your guitar directly into your audio interface, dial up a guitar tone in your plug-in software, and play. The sound is simply stunning. But wait. They & apos; re ALL MISSING SOMETHING. In fact, they & apos; re missing a crucial element of the signal path that simply cannot be modeled in software: the proper input impedance of a real guitar amplifier. When you plug your guitar into your audio interface, the interface & apos; s impedance does not match the typical levels found on a real guitar amplifier. The result? No matter how hard you try, you & apos; ll never quite be able to replicate the true sound and "feel" of playing into a real guitar amp. The sound will be just a little more thin and unresponsive than the real thing. The solution? ZBox! ZBox matches the output impedance (”Z”) of your guitar to the impedance of a non-amp input, such as them mic/instrument preamp inputs on your audio interface. Without proper impedance matching, your guitar won’t sound natural or “feel right”. ZBox’s unique advantage? Authentic matching circuits that emulate the two-jack switching network found on many classic amplifiers, complete with analog simulation of the input tube grid. Only ZBox delivers the most authentic amplifier impedance matching available for the absolute truest sound and “feel” from your guitar.

MOTU 8pre USB 24-bit/96kHz USB Audio Interface
The one rack-space 8pre 16x12 USB audio interface turns a laptop or desktop Mac or PC into a 24-bit 96kHz recording studio with eight mic inputs, 8-channel ADAT optical digital I/O and MIDI I/O. When not connected to a computer, the 8pre can function as an 8-channel analog-to-digital converter, making it two products in one. The 8pre front panel provides a five-segment level meter, 48V phantom power button, 20 dB pad button and trim knob for all 8 mic inputs. Two banks of ADAT optical provide 8 channels digital I/O, even when recording in high definition at 88.2 or 96 kHz. The TRS main outs can be connected directly to powered studio monitors with front panel volume control. Connect the 8pre via ADAT optical to another optical-equipped interface or mixer to add 8 mic inputs, seamlessly integrated into the other device's mixing environment. If you already own an optical-equipped MOTU audio interface, the 8pre is the perfect way to add 8 mic inputs directly to your system. The 8pre as your primary audio interfaceUse the included CueMix software to mix all 16 inputs from your computer. Eight channels of ADAT optical I/O make the 8pre an ideal companion for a digital mixer. Two ADAT lightpipe connections work together to support a full 8 channels of optical digital I/O at any sample rate up to 96kHz.Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines and even effects processors. Then monitor all of these live inputs via the 8pre's main outs or headphone jack - with virtually no monitoring latency and no processor drain on your computer. You can even create separate monitor mixes for the main outs and headphones. Control everything, including talk-back and listen-back, from the included CueMix Console software, just like a large studio console. The 8pre includes a 16-channel MIDI interface. Or you can use the included AudioDesk workstation software for Mac OS, with 24-bit recording/editing and 32-bit mixing/processing/mastering.The 8pre as a microphone preamp expansion interfaceThe 8pre is really two products in one. When it is not connected to a computer via USB, the 8pre functions as an eight-channel analog to digital (optical) converter. Connect the 8pre to your MOTU 828, 896, Traveler or even another 8pre via the optical "lightpipe" connection to add eight high-quality microphone pre-amps to your system. Since the connection is digital, 100% pristine sound is maintained, down to the very last sample. The 8pre is the perfect way to instantly add eight more mic inputs to any audio interface or digital mixer with optical I/O. If you have a MOTU interface with on-board CueMix DSP mixing, such as the 828 (mkII or mk3), 896 (HD or mk3) or Traveler (original or mk3), the 8pre inputs appear directly in the host interface's CueMix mixer to becomes a transparent extension of your system, operating together with your primary interface as a single, integrated unit - even when the host interface is not connected to a computer and is instead operating as a stand-alone mixer. If you have an 828mk3, 896mk3, 2408mk3, digital mixer or other audio device that supports 96kHz optical and also has two optical inputs, the 8pre connects to it via both optical ports to provide a full eight channels of analog to optical conversion at the 88.2 or 96kHz sample rates.

MOTU MX4 Version 2 Multi Synthesizer Virtual Instrument (Mac Only)
A virtual instrument plugin for MOTU DP4 (MAS), Pro Tools (RTAS) and other Mac OS X audio hosts (Audio Units). MX4 features a unique, hybrid synthesis engine that combines several forms of synthesis, including subtractive, wavetable, frequency modulation (FM), amplitude modulation (AM) and analog emulation. MX4’s flexible programming and advanced modulation architecture provide the intimacy of a vintage synth, the flexibility of a modular synth, and the innovation of a virtual synth. Version 2 is packed with major new features and hundreds of new presets that instantly expand your sonic palette. Best of all, MX4 Version 2 is a free upgrade to all MX4 Version 1 users! It all starts with the pulsating, rhythmic textures of MX4 V2's new Pattern Gate. More built-in effectsBuilt-in effects allow you to incorporate the effect into your programmed presets, rather than having to apply them separately. MX4 Version 2 adds a flanger, phaser and all-important reverb. All of these effects are CPU efficient and add a broad new sonic palette for you to work with. Stereo DetuneTry this: load a mono preset in MX4 Version 2 and listen to it—a pad for example. Now click the stereo button and play it again. Hear how it widens? Now drag the Stereo Detune slider to about 30%. What you'll now hear is nothing short of huge, spread across the stereo field. Now set the Unison Multiplier to 4, and get ready for really huge... Anti-aliased (band-limited) wavetablesMX4 Version 2 gives you the best of both worlds: MX4 version 1's classic wavetables are perfect for that sought-after, searing aliasing effect. And Version 2's new anti-aliased wavetables give you the pure, pristine sound of every included wavetable, even in the highest registers. Hundreds of new factory presetsVersion 2 delivers hundreds of new presets in a wide range of categories, neatly organized into sub-menus for easy browsing. Many take full-advantage of the hottest new features, like the pattern gate, arpeggiator and pattern sequencer. Mods pageThe Mods page represents an entirely new dimension in multi-synth programming. You now have unprecedented control over the sounds you can sculpt and design in MX4, all just a click away. The inspiration for MX4 came from legendary subtractive synthesizers like the Prophet-5, PPG Wave and Moog Modular! Then MOTU took the concept further using today’s powerful computer software technology. The result is a unique, hybrid synthesis engine that delivers both fresh and vintage synths sounds alike. Whether you’re looking for killer synth presets or intense synth programming, MX4 is for you. As a plug-in, MX4 operates efficiently and provides unlimited voices, polyphony and instantiations (subject to the processing resources of the host computer). Playback is sample-accurate with supporting host applications, such as Digital Performer 4. MX4’s 32-bit internal resolution provides wide dynamic range, and it supports all standard sample rates up to 192kHz. Users can work fast and intuitively in a single, efficiently organized window labeled with real-world values like semitones, decibels, etc. All settings are saved with host software projects for instant recall. MX4’s basic synthesis architecture provides 3 oscillators with modulatable waveform symmetry and hard sync, 2 variable topology multimode filters, 4 variable waveshape LFO’s and 4 ADSHR envelopes. OscillatorsMX4 provides all standard analog synthesizer waveforms, but every waveform has adjustable symmetry. This allows users to create standard pulse width modulation effects, as well as waveform “morphing” effects, such as smoothly changing from a triangle waveform to a sawtooth. Changing the symmetry of simple sine waves can even create interesting and unique spectra. Each of the three oscillators can use a wavetable instead of a standard waveform. Dozens of wavetables are supplied, and users can also

It can also be controlled from the Mackie Control Universal Pro work surface, or any HUI-compatible controller. Additionally it provides talkback and listen back features, along with a range of software analysis tools. The 4pre can be daisy chained to another pre or MOTU audio interface. Direct SMPTE time code sync is supported without the need for a separate synchronizer. The included SMPTE Console software (for Mac OS X and Windows) provides a complete set of tools to generate SMPTE for striping, regenerating or slaving other devices to the computer. Four mic preamps The 4pre packs four mic inputs into an impressively small half-rack form factor, along with a healthy complement of additional professional-grade audio connections. Just think of the possibilities. You can record and mix vocals plus guitar for two musicians simultaneously. Or mic a drum kit with overheads and close-ups. Or record lead and background vocals in one take. With an interface this flexible, capable and great-sounding, you'll be ready for any situation your music throws at you. Compact size The 4pre is an impressively small 8.5 by 7 by 1.75", which means that it slides easily into your backpack. It also sits nicely next to your laptop or desktop computer. Flexible combo-style inputs The four inputs are not just for mics: they are combo jacks that also accept a quarter-inch plug. Inputs 1-2 take line-level signals, such as the output from a synth or keyboard. Inputs 3-4 are "hi-Z" DI inputs with proper impedance for plugging in your electric guitar directly, without an amp or cabinet, to process your guitar sound through amp and cab simulation plug-ins in your host software. Universal connectivity Thanks to MOTU's Hybrid interface technology, the 4pre connects to any Mac or PC via FireWire or high-speed USB 2.0. Connect your mic, guitar, keyboard and digital input and you are ready to make pro-quality recordings. Bus-powered FireWire The 4pre can draw power from its FireWire connection to the computer, so you can operate remotely on laptop battery power. High-speed USB 2.0 The 4pre can record and play all channels simultaneously and high-speed USB 2.0 provides plenty of bandwidth, even at 96 kHz. Mixing made simple

To obtain a copy of the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty for this item prior to purchasing the item, & bull; Restores natural guitar tone & bull; No extra cables required & bull; No power required & bull; No software or drivers required & bull; Simple to useThe MOTU ZBox matches the output impedance (Z) of guitar to the impedance of a non-amp input, such as the mic/instrument preamp inputs on audio interface. Without proper impedance matching, guitar won't sound natural or feel right. ZBox's unique advantage? Authentic matching circuits that emulate the two-jack switching network found on many classic amplifiers, complete with analog simulation of the input tube grid. Only ZBox delivers the most authentic amplifier impedance matching available for the absolute truest sound and feel from guitar. To support a wide range of guitars, ZBox provides authentic "Hi-Z" and "Lo-Z" inputs, just like the ones found on many classic guitar amps, complete with analog simulation of the input tube grid. ZBox is the missing link for digital guitar processing, providing the hardware-driven input characteristics required to truly emulate a real guitar amp. If use Digital Performer's Custom 59 amp model plug-in, or a third-party guitar plug-in product like IK Multimedia Amplitube, Waves GTR, Native Instruments Guitar Rig, or similar guitar modeling software, use ZBox to further enhance the authenticity of the tones play from these products! Today's guitar amp modeling plug-ins are simply amazing in their ability to faithfully model real guitar amplifiers. From IK Multimedia's Amplitube, to Waves, to Native Instruments, to Line 6, to Digital Performer's included Custom '59, can plug guitar directly into audio interface, dial up a guitar tone in plug-in software, and play. The sound is simply stunning. But wait. They're all missing something. In fact, they're missing a crucial element of the signal path that simply cannot be modeled in software: the proper input impedance of a real guitar amplifier. When plug guitar into audio interface, the interface's impedance does not match the typical levels found on a real guitar amplifier. The result? No matter how hard try, 'll never quite be able to replicate the true sound and "feel" of playing into a real guitar amp. The sound will be just a little more thin and unresponsive than the real thing. The solution? ZBox! What types of devices can use ZBox with? - can use ZBox with pretty much any device that has an "instrument" or preamp input suitable for a guitar. Examples include: ¢Audio interfaces¢Mixers¢Recording devices¢Wireless transmitters¢PA systems¢Effects processors Use ZBox with any of these devices to sweeten guitar tone and make it feel more like playing into a real guitar amplifier. ZBox is NOT a computer-related device and does not require any software drivers. It does not even require a power source! Simple!
