In 1987, Group B cars could no longer compete in rallies. In a rush, Audi replaces its legendary S1 Quattro by a 200. The large saloon won out over the Quattro Coup & eacute;. It was a surprising choice, revealed shortly before the start of the Monte Carlo season. The imposing saloon has no wide kit or imposing spoiler. Group A is the opposite of Group B, and the Audi 200 is surely the best example of this. Officially announced as having 'only' 238 bhp, it doesn't seem suited for rally.
