The Black Crowes Warpaint 180g Black Vinyl LP
The Black Crowes release their first new album in seven years! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Mention the Black Crowes to any music fan and you will get a jaw-dropping response! They have been called & quot;The Most Rock n' Roll & quot; Rock n' Roll band in the world! Warpaint is the band's first album of all-new studio material in seven years. From the beginning, the Black Crowes have done things their own way. Chris Robinson says the album's title signifies & quot;The revolution that could take place in all our souls & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Warpaint marks the recording debut of two new band members, second guitarist Luther Dickinson, of North Mississippi Allstars, and keyboardist Adam MacDougall, who join Chris and Rich and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. The album, which is being independently released on the band’s own newly-formed Silver Arrow Records, distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG, builds compellingly on the band’s trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by Chris and Rich Robinson, except “God’s Got It” by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. “Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution” is the album’s first single. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Black Crowes have sold over 20 million albums and are known as one of rock’s best live acts. Their panoramic live shows feature alternating set lists and signature incendiary musical explorations. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g Black Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Nonetheless, since their 1990 debut, this Georgia band, led by frontman Chris Robinson and his guitarist brother Rich, have proven to be a popular touring act, churning out sensual blues-rock that recalls the Rolling Stones and other classic-rock groups. The Black Crowes disbanded during the early years of the 21st century but have recently reformed to put out new music. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The iconic and influential band, The Black Crowes, release the live album & quot;Wiser For the Time & quot; on Silver Arrow/Megaforce Records. The Chris Robinson Brotherhood Phosphorescent Harvest 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Chris Robinson, Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, George Sluppick & amp; Mark Dutton On Double LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Chris Robinson Brotherhood release their third studio album Phosphorescent Harvest on the Silver Arrow Records label. The band consists of Chris Robinson, Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, George Sluppick, and Mark Dutton. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Phosphorescent Harvest is a treasure trove of 10 songs (including several band road-tested over the last few years) that advances the band's kaleidoscopic sound, which is deeply soulful, rootsy and spacey all at once. There's strong songcraft here, with a free-flowing delivery; it is music that is in no hurry to reach its destination but firmly knows where it is going. From the beginning, the CRB set out to do something different from what they had done before, creating their own scene with a musical prowess, cohesive songwriting and a unified commitment to experimentation, both in the studio and on the road. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Phosphorescent Harvest follows the release of the companion albums Big Moon Ritual (June 2012) and The Magic Door (September 2012). The group continues to record with producer Thom Monahan and Robinson wrote all of the songs with Casal except the two that are Robinson solo compositions ( & quot;Tornado & quot; and & quot;Jump the Turnstiles & quot;). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Rolling Stone editor David Fricke picked the Chris Robinson Brotherhood as one of his favorites of 2012 and praised their live performance in New York City, saying & lt;b & gt; & quot;...the singer's acid-country Brotherhood, with ex-Ryan Adams guitarist Neal Casal, were a sublime time onstage and across these two albums, recorded at the same sessions and issued six months apart. The Irving Plaza show was a characteristic live high. In the second set, Robinson steered out of a rattling 'Tough Mama', from Bob Dylan's Planet Waves, into the long reverie 'Girl On the Mountain', a song from an earlier side trip, New Earth Mud, given fresh air and a new coat of DayGlo paint (1/30/13). & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Double LP & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Black Vinyl & lt;/br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; 1. The Chris Robinson Brotherhood Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel Double LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Double LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Fourth Studio Album Pressed On Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; When the Chris Robinson Brotherhood headed into the studio to begin recording their album Any Way You Love, We Know How You Feel, no one knew just what to expect. These would be the band's first recordings with new drummer Tony Leone (Ollabelle, Levon Helm), their first since the departure of founding bassist Mark & quot;Muddy & quot; Dutton, and their first time producing themselves. But as anybody who's been following the CRB can attest, this is a band that thrives on the unexpected. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Heading into the studio for Any Way You Love, Robinson purposely left as much open-ended as possible, embracing the lineup changes and leaning into the virtuosic improvisational chemistry that’s always made their live shows such enthralling spectacles. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Instead of seeing these things as challenges, we started to see them as something exciting, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; explains Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;It was an opportunity to see where our expression could take us. Some people get really uptight when they’re making records, but for us, the looser it gets the better. It’s all about taking our intuition and following it to where our ideas can really manifest themselves. This turned out to be the most spontaneous record I’ve ever been a part of. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Not coincidentally, Robinson also cites it as perhaps the best recording experience of his life. The band relocated to northern California for the sessions, recording on the side of a mountain overlooking the foggy Pacific Ocean and channeling the natural majesty and melancholic weather of their surroundings into the album's eight, epic, immersive tracks. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album kicks off with & quot;Narcissus Soaking Wet, & quot; a psychedelic toe-tapper that marks Robinson's first co-write with keyboardist Adam Macdougall and touches on everything from Dylan and Parliament Funkadelic to Southern rock and Chicago blues. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;For me, its the centerpiece of the record, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;It’s got all our CRB things we love, especially the groove, and it's the first time I ever played harmonica on one of our songs. The lyrics are about control and egotism and false idolatry, about what happens when you’re a musician who puts yourself above the natural flow of harmony and music. It becomes the same mythic mistake that all the tragic heroes made. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Some of Robinson’s finest writing to date arrives in the album’s final minutes, with the soulful, southern, gospel-tinged closer & quot;California Hymn, & quot; which finds him singing & lt;b & gt; & quot;Glory glory hallelujah / It’s time to spread the news / Though my good words may sound profane to some. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;That whole chorus is about being a part of our community, our little CRB culture, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; explains Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;These are our services when we play our music. And when it’s at its best, we feel like the music makes a connection with people that’s on a level that has nothing to do with commerce or nostalgia. There’s some other gravity that keeps us all together in those moments, and I think this song is representative of that kind of magic spell. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Indeed, the whole album is something of a magic spell, and now that it’s been cast, it's time for services to resume in the psychedelic church of the CRB. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Robinson's voice is in great form throughout, plaintive and just craggy enough on songs like the serene 'Some Gardens Green.' The band (with Neil Casal on guitars, Adam MacDougall on keys, Tony Leone on drums, and Jeff HIll on bass) finds various ways to showcase its quirky aesthetic: a 70s funk feel on 'Narcissus Soaking Wet,' a danceable, riff-based blues on 'Leave My Guitar Alone,' and a positively trippy aura on 'Give Us Back Our Eleven Days.' 'California Hymn' is the highlight, with guitars, piano and harmonies melding seamlessly in that loose-tight blend. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Karen Bells, The Absolute Sound, Music 4.5/5, Sonics 4.5/5 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Chris Robinson, vox, guitar & lt;br & gt; Neal Casal, guitar, vox & lt;br & gt; Adam MacDougall, keyboards & lt;br & gt; Tony Leone, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Chris Robinson Brotherhood Barefoot In the Head 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Fifth Studio Album On 45rpm 2LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Chris Robinson Brotherhood release their studio album 'Barefoot In The Head' in the midst of one of their most prolific periods. The 10-track effort, self-produced by the band, marks a third collection of new material in only two years' time. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;They say the only people who know true freedom are musicians and gangsters, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; Chris Robinson says with a laugh. & lt;b & gt; & quot;And Bob Dylan said to live outside the law you must be honest. We're living in these anxiety-filled times, in an era of 'no truth,' but what our music represents is this truly honest way of communicating with people, and that's a really freeing thing. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; If their stellar album, 'Barefoot In The Head,' is any indication, freedom suits the Chris Robinson Brotherhood well. 'Barefoot In The Head' finds the band pushing boundaries and breaking new ground with more joy and wonder than ever before. The album showcases the continued growth of Robinson's songwriting partnership with his bandmates (guitarist & lt;b & gt;Neal Casal & lt;/b & gt;, drummer & lt;b & gt;Tony Leone & lt;/b & gt;, keyboardist & lt;b & gt;Adam MacDougall & lt;/b & gt;, and bassist & lt;b & gt;Jeff Hill & lt;/b & gt;), while reveling in the kind of playful adventurousness that can only come from five artists tuned in to the same sonic wavelength. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album opens with the Americana funk of & quot;Behold The Seer, & quot; which sounds like something of a mission statement for the CRB as Robinson sings, & quot;If you want to keep your engine humming / Keep your eyes wide ahead and don't look back. & quot; On the dreamy & quot;She Shares My Blanket, & quot; Robinson crafts cinematic scenes from a winter love affair in the mountains, while elegant pedal steel added by special guest Barry Sless on & quot;Blonde Light Of Day & quot; casts a warm, romantic haze and & quot;Blue Star Woman & quot; sounds like T-Rex dressed in overalls living on a West Coast commune. Throughout the album, Robinson and the band deftly intertwine country, blues and psychedelia, even channeling freewheeling 1960's folk on & quot;Hark The Herald Hermit Speaks, & quot; a breakneck stream of consciousness that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. On the English psych inspired & quot;Glow, & quot; which Robinson calls & lt;b & gt; & quot;one of the most special things I've ever done in the studio, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; The CRB are joined by the celebrated sarodist Alam Khan (son of the legendary Ali Akbar Khan). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The music that we make, the concerts that we play, it's this world we've created for ourselves and our people, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; explains Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;We want everybody to understand that no matter where you are in your life that you can always be barefoot in your head. There's always this other place you can go. Is that place it real? That’s your decision to make, what you're going to let be real to you. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; That may ultimately be the true definition of freedom: not what's bestowed upon you by others, but rather what you bestow upon yourself. For the CRB, that means the ability to follow their muse unfettered by expectation or preconceptions, the ability to measure their success purely in terms of artistic fulfillment and the bonds of brotherhood. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;After six years of solid touring with this band, we can still roll into Fayetteville, AR on a Tuesday night and have the most fun of any musical thing I've ever been a part of, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;We don't have the weight of responsibility or nostalgia, which means we're in the very psychedelic situation of getting to be totally honest and create everything in the moment. That's freedom. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; • Made in the Czech Republic & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. A gateway swings wide open to a universe that the band has been tirelessly constructing for eight years through extraordinary musicianship, endless touring and a roving, seemingly bottomless wizard’s chest of sonic magic. The CRB's 8th studio effort since forming in 2008—spread out over six full length albums and two EPs— sets aside the studio explorations of their more recent work and turns inward to the heart of the band's universe. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The band's 8th studio effort since forming in 2011—spread out over six full length albums and two EPs—sets aside the studio explorations of their more recent work and turns inward to the heart of the Brotherhood's universe. Of the origin concept for Servants, bandleader Chris Robinson explains: & lt;b & gt; & quot;I let my head go to a Saturday night at the Fillmore, and said, what's the best set we could play? & quot; & lt;/b & gt; And in following that guiding principle the CRB bottled their pure essence into 10 new songs, a distillation of their journey so far. & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g 45rpm Companion Piece to The Debut Album Big Moon Ritual! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 2011, after more than 20 years of intense gigging and recording, Chris Robinson set off to shape something new, a fresh rock mythology, a breathing kaleidoscopic thing stuffed with chooglin' soul, bedrock boogie and shuffling wisdom birthed in intimate clubs and amongst the tall trees of the Golden State and eventually taken nationwide as the Chris Robinson Brotherhood evolved. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; What began as an experiment without expectations turned into a 118-show journey for Robinson, Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, George Sluppick, and Mark Dutton that surprised these seasoned pros as music of unshakeable solidity and exuberant reach poured out of them, a New Cosmic California sound with tendrils reaching to the original Fillmore West, Topanga Canyon and outwards towards far horizons. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In June 2012, following the 118-show journey, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood released their debut album Big Moon Ritual. It is a & lt;b & gt; & quot;roots-o-licious collection of tunes with beautiful guitar tones, inventive in parts, gorgeous solos, and killer vocals all around, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; praised Guitar Player (June 2012), while Relix similarly raved by describing the album as & lt;b & gt; & quot;a full immersion into Southern psychedelics, nine-minute song swoops, extended grooves and wailing vocals & quot; & lt;/b & gt; (June 2012). The fruits of the band's hard-charging January 2012 recording session with producer Thom Monahan are heard not only on Big Moon Ritual but in its companion album The Magic Door also. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Each album spotlights seven tunes, with The Magic Door containing six originals plus a cover of Hank Ballard's & quot;Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go & quot;, a CRB set list staple. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;“Thom had encouraged us to remain true to the arrangements we had been playing all year on the road.” said Robinson, “We inevitably had some longer pieces and felt that the performances were strong enough that we didn’t want to edit them for any extraneous reasons.” & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Chris says he realized “within the first two days” of recording, that there was enough material for two albums. Certainly nothing new for Robinson, as his other band, the Black Crowes, also have a history of recording more than will fit on the plate. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Dave Swanson, ultimateclassicrock.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Chris Robinson, Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, George Sluppick and Mark Dutton create exciting musical sparks throughout The Magic Door. & quot; & lt;b & gt;We really feel these records set the stage for another full year, where we'll see how far we can go with it, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Robinson. & lt;b & gt; & quot;We already feel successful because we have the freedom to do what we want. And it's always cosmic. The times demand it. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; 45rpm & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Both discs pressed on black vinyl & lt;/br & gt; & amp;bull; Mastered & amp; Pressed at GZ in the Czech Republic & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Chris Robinson - lead vocals, guitar & lt;br & gt; Neal Casal - guitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; Adam MacDougall - keys, vocals & lt;br & gt; George Sluppick - drums & lt;br & gt; Mark Dutton - bass, vocals & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Chris & Rich Robinson Brothers Of A Feather: Live At The Roxy 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Intimate Live Set On Double LP! & lt;br & gt; & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;Brothers Of A Feather: Live At The Roxy is a live album by Chris and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes, originally released on CD July 10, 2007 and later followed by a DVD release with extra tracks. A compilation from several shows at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, California, recorded during the 2006 Brothers Of A Feather tour, the album included two new songs, some old Black Crowes songs and some covers. Most songs feature only one or two guitars and vocals, with occasional accompaniment from Mona Lisa Young and Charity White, the Black Crowes' backing-vocals duo, as well as a guest appearance by Tenor Saxophonist Dave Ellis of The Left Coast Horns. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.allmusic.com & quot; & gt; Compiled of highlights from their three-night stint at the Roxy in Los Angeles, Brothers of a Feather does distinguish itself from the growing list of official live Black Crowes-related projects just by its intimate nature: hearing the brothers Robinson alone (it's not quite acoustic, since Rich often plays an otherwise unadorned electric) is unique and surprisingly revelatory, illustrating that both Chris and Rich can be sensitive interpreters when stripped down to the bone. But even if there are many soft, almost folky moments -- including a good cover of John Martyn's 'Over the Hill,' Rich's solo spotlight 'Forgiven Song,' and a winding version of 'Driving Wheel' -- there's plenty of grit and good vibes here, best heard on the roaring opener, 'Hosehead,' and a down-n-dirty 'Darling of the Underground Press.' Most of Brothers of a Feather works a middle ground between the ruminative and the rowdy, whether it's on a beautiful reading of Lowell George's 'Roll Um Easy' or an epic take on their own 'Thorn in My Pride,' which proves that they can find a new spin on their old warhorses. And that sentiment applies to Brothers of a Feather as a whole: it's familiar in its sound yet fresh in its approach and certainly worth a listen for Black Crowes fans, no matter if they're hardened hardcore fans or fans who are a bit less dedicated yet no less enamored of the Robinsons' old-time rock & amp; roll. & lt;footer & gt; -AllMusic & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Double LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Recorded live at The Roxy Theatre, Los Angeles, CA 2006 & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Made in the Czech Republic & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Chris Robinson & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Rich Robinson & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;vocals, guitar & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Mona Lisa Young & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;backing vocals & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Charity White & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;backing vocals & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;/table & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side A: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Horsehead & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Curved Diamond & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Over The Hill & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Magic Rooster Blues & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side B: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;My Heart's Killing Me & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Forgiven Song & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Someday Past The Sunset & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Roll Um Easy & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side C: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cold Boy Smile & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Driving Wheel & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Leave It Alone & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Polly & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side D: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Darling Of The Underground Press & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Thorn In My Pride & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;
