The debut album by the sensational new rock/blues, guitarist/singer-songwriter Jimmy D. Lane. While the listener will hear echoes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan in Jimmy's playing, he is his own man, a fact recognized recently by Eric Clapton when, after playing together with Jimmy on a forthcoming tribute album to Jimmy's father, blues legend Jimmy Rogers, Clapton proclaimed Jimmy Lane an "incredible guitarist." Indeed, the strongest influence on Jimmy's musical development has been his father. Long Gone features Jimmy Lane with bassist Freddie Crawford (also a verteran member of Jimmy Rogers band and Jimmy Lane's regular group) and legendary drummer Jim Keltner, who has performed and/or recorded with everyone from John Lennon and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. The group is joined on one number by producer/guitarist John Koenig. Jimmy Lane's repertoire on Long Gone is made up of his own originals and covers by blues and rock greats including Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Rogers, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Albert King.
