& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;High Quality 180g Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Tony Sheridan and various artists Opus 3 artists perform a treasure trove of gems. Artists include Maria Winther, Yamina, Bottleneck John, Roger Ekman and more. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;The Opus 3 Tony Sheridan story: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 1964, about three years after he had performed and recorded with The Beatles in Hamburg, he returned from a tour with a great band to record what was for us an unforgettable Rhythm & amp; Blues album & quot;Just a little bit of Tony Sheridan & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 2006 my old friend Anders Aslund who shared my interest in Tony's work, joined me on a trip to Hamburg where Tony was still living, to start discussions on future possibilities to make a record. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A further visit to Hamburg early in 2007, but this time together with Roger Ekman, a long time associate of Opus 3 Records, who was much appreciated by Tony as producer and bassist. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; After several meetings we realized that we had discovered a great many wonderful songs, literally a 'treasure-trove' of songs including for example & quot;Tell Me If You Can & quot; which Tony Sheridan had written with Paul McCartney during their time in Hamburg. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;The album concept: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Later in 2007 Tony came up to the Opus 3 Studio in Sweden and we recorded two songs together. & quot;Tell Me If You Can & quot; and & quot;Indochina & quot; – a song relating to his experience when he performed for the US soldiers in Vietnam during the '70s. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Sadly, Tony died at the beginning of 2013, leaving us not only with memories but also recordings which we had made of just him and his guitar in his home in Hamburg. These songs are in effect the jewels in a musical treasure created by Tony Sheridan. A treasure not locked in a vault collecting dust, but an album performed by Opus 3 artists giving exposure to Tony's creativity. The inclusion of & quot;Skinny Minnie & quot; was because it was known to be one of his biggest hits. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Roger Ekman was the driving musical force and responsible for the many different arrangements, later joined by guitarist Peter Melin. On the drums we have Robert Carlsson who was also very good in finding the right grooves! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; High Quality 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Mastered by Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; LP cut at CALYX Mastering in Berlin & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Tony Sheridan, guitar & lt;br & gt; Peter Melin, acoustic & amp; electric guitars & lt;br & gt; Bert Ostlund, acoustic & amp; electric guitars, organ, Wurlitzer and piano & lt;br & gt; Bjorn Jansson, tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone & lt;br & gt; Filip Ekestubbe, piano, pump organ & lt;br & gt; Anna Wallgren, cello & lt;br & gt; Bottleneck John, dobro guitar & lt;br & gt; Roger Ekman, electric & amp; acoustic bass & lt;br & gt; Robert Carlsson, drums & lt;br & gt; Hakan Tingshagen, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Opus 3 40th Anniversary Celebration Album 180g 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Opus 3 Celebrates 40th Anniversary With Compilation Album On 180g Vinyl 45rpm Double LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Opus 3 happily present their & quot;40th Anniversary Celebration Album & quot; which is very different from all previous samplers & quot;! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; The proof is in the pudding, the old adage goes. And at Opus 3, a Swedish record label whose catalogue includes SACDS, vinyl LPs, and first generation reel-to-reel tapes, a devotion to detail and commitment to the time-honored analog traditions, including the use of vintage mics and the Blumlein method and direct-stream digital (DSD), has led to some tasty offerings. You can hear the results on the label's recent & lt;i & gt;40th Anniversary Celebration Album & lt;/i & gt;, an 18-track compilation that blends blues, jazz, and classical recordings. On this eclectic sampler, New York City bluesman Eric Bibb rubs elbows with the Stockholm Guitar Quartet, the art song of Swedish vibraphonist Lars Erstrand, and the sonorous rumble of avant-classical organist Mattias Wager. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...three-dimensional depth of field, natural timbre, and dynamic range. On the anniversary sampler, which is available as two 45rpm vinyl LPs or a hybrid stereo SACD, you find those qualities in the warmth and clarity of the acoustic guitar and unaffected voice of Yamina on the bossa-nova track & quot;Gentle Rain, & quot; from the & lt;i & gt;How Deep Is The Ocean & lt;/i & gt; album; the dreamy resonator that hovers above the mix on the bluesy instrumental & quot;Bentonia, & quot; from & lt;i & gt;Tiny Island, Vol. II & lt;/i & gt;; and the gentle pleading of Eric Bibb's & quot;Going Home, & quot; from his critically acclaimed & lt;i & gt;Rainbow People & lt;/i & gt;. You hear them on the jazz staple & quot;'Round Midnight, & quot; the rollicking electric blues of B.B. Leon & amp; Triple Threat's & quot;Hail Storm & quot; from & lt;i & gt;Blues Barn & lt;/i & gt;, and the 1930s swing-band arrangement of & quot;Indian Cradle Song & quot; from the quirky & lt;i & gt;Kust-bandet & lt;/i & gt;. And you hear those qualities on Kjell Ohman's dynamic B3 organ-driven soul-jazz on & quot;Blues Opus 3, & quot; from & lt;i & gt;The Hammond Connection & lt;/i & gt;, and especially on the Erik Westberg Vocal Ensemble's mesmerizing performance of J.S. Bach's & quot;Komm, suBer Tod, & quot; from the stunning & lt;i & gt;Musica Sacra & lt;/i & gt;. Tasty, indeed. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Greg Cahill, & lt;i & gt;The Absolute Sound & lt;/i & gt;, March 2018 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Opus 3 40th Anniversary Celebration Album not only looks back into their 40 year recording history, it also looks into the future! Kjell Ohman & Arne Domnerus The Hammond B-3 Connection 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;High Quality 180g Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;From Kjell Ohman: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot; When this organ album of standards came to be planned, choosing the co-performers was the best of my problems! & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Arne Domnerus & lt;/b & gt; - This was my long-awaited opportunity of making a recording with the Nestor of Swedish jazz. In the mellow sound of his alto sax, my own Hammond B3 Organ found the perfect companion. & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Rune Gustafsson & lt;/b & gt; - We played together a good deal in the '60s and '70s, but mostly in studios, and since then we have seen far too little of each other. Rune, to my ears, is one of the really oustanding masters of his instrument! & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Leif & quot;Gus & quot; Dahlberg & lt;/b & gt; - Good timing, empathy, dexterity of the brushes and a wonderful sense of fun are just a few things to be said about & quot;Gus & quot;. We have played together quite a lot in the past 10 years, and I want to keep it that way. & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Mads Vinding & lt;/b & gt; - A joyful reunion! We worked together a lot, in Svend Asmussen's Quartet, for a few years in the early 1970s. Mads is one of my favorite bass players! & lt;br & gt; I hope you will have at least half of the fun we did, making this recording for a couple of days at the end of March 1994. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Re-Mastering & lt;/b & gt; & lt;b & gt;- & lt;/b & gt; The original two-channel recording was made by Jan-Eric Persson of Opus 3 Records fame in March 1994 using Agfa PEM 468 tapes which had been preserved in perfect condition. This optimum condition of storage becomes of particular importance when considering the relatively subtle but important improvements necessary to achieve the aims of the LP version which had earlier only been available on ordinary CD. Using the M/S-technique etc. in an unusual way gave the possibility of making the overall sound picture clearer, plus adding a slight reverb opened up the sound picture. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;The Recording & lt;/b & gt; & lt;b & gt;- & lt;/b & gt; The recording was made using Opus 3's esteemed AKG C-24 valve stereo-microphone adjusted to Blumlein crossed figure of eighths capturing the total sound picture. A Neumann U-89 was used as a support for the double bass and a vintage AKG C-414 TLII on Rune's Ibanez guitar. Everything was mixed into their custom made valve mixer feeding their Telefunken M-28, 2 channel tape recorder. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;The Story: The Hammond B3 organ and the Leslie Speaker & lt;/b & gt; & lt;b & gt;- & lt;/b & gt; Mr. Don Leslie started to develop & quot; The Leslie Speaker & quot; in 1937 and it went into production in 1940. However, Mr. Laruens Hammond did not like Mr. Leslie's invention with the result that Don Leslie was obliged to start his own company, Electro Music. - But where would the Hammond Organ be without the Leslie? Mr. Hammond had designed his organ to sound like a pipe organ and this was how the Hammond Organ was developed initially, but the advent of its use together with the Leslie speaker guided its use to create a completely different kind of music to that which is normally played on a pipe organ. During the 1960s non organists discovered the Leslie and started to use it with all kinds of music to achieve the unique sounds which could be created. For example listen to Eric Clapton's Leslie processed guitar solo in the Beatles' & quot; While My Guitar Gently Weeps & quot; on the White Album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; When asked about why the Leslie sounds like it does, they will probably start talking about the & quot;Doppler effect & quot;*. & quot;I believe that how the Leslie speaker does what it does, is pretty much misunderstood, & quot; Leslie asserts. & quot; There have been many explanations that don't include what is really happening. The way the Leslie works, in my opinion, is that it creates motion. We have two ears, and that lets you respect motion. That's why pipe organs sound so big without overwhelming you with volume. It does not have to hurt your ears. They generate this big feeling because of the constant changing of the source, and your ears respect that. The rotating horns in the Leslie speaker simulate that. They are constantly changing position so it relieves you of that fixed, rigid-position effect. Everyone describes it as the Dopplef effect, but they really don't understand what it is doing. there's a complex situation going on with moving speakers. When the speaker moves toward you, the pitch will be going up. At the same time, there's radiation going over a wall and reflecting back to you and that sound is going down in pitch. The Leslie creates a broad sound made up of an almost infinite number of frequencies from all of these changing reflections which are bounding off the walls. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; *The Doppler effect, sometimes known as the Doppler shift, is the change in frequency or wavelength of a wave in relation to an observor who is moving relative to the wave source. It is named after the Austrian physicist Christian Doppler, who described the phenomenon in 1842. A common example of Doppler shift is the change of pitch heard when a vehicle sounding a horn approaches and recedes from an observor. Compared to the emitted frequency, the frequency is higher during the approach, identical at the instant of passing by, and lower during the recession. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Recording Equipment: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Microphones: AKG C-24 Vacuum tube stereo condensor, AKG C-414 TL II and Neumann U-89 & lt;br & gt; Audio Console: Opus 3 Valve Electronics by Kjell Malmberg, AV-utveckling & lt;br & gt; Monitor Speakers: Totem Acoustics, Model One and Mani-2 Signature & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; High Quality 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Re-Mastering by Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering & amp; Jan-Eric Persson at Opus 3 Studio & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; LP Cutting by Lupo at Calyx Recording in Berlin & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Printed in Germany & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Kjell Ohman, Hammond B3 organ & lt;br & gt; Arne Domnerus, alto saxophone & lt;br & gt; Rune Gustafsson, guitar & lt;br & gt; Leif & quot;Gus & quot; Dahlberg, drums & lt;br & gt; Mads Vinding, upright bass & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Eric Bibb Just Like Love 180g LP (Vinyl)
We are pleased to present, Just Like Love, the latest Opus 3 recording of Eric Bibb. Since Eric's breakthrough album on Opus 3, Spirit & amp; The Blues in 1994, and the highly acclaimed follow up album Good Stuff, Sunday Times album of the year 1997 (UK), he has also made two studio albums and a live recording on other labels. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Quite a few of these songs were recorded just weeks, days and even hours after landing in my notebook. I intentionally chose to share them at this early stage, prior to performance, because of my fondness for the unique energy of newborn songs. In order to capture these spontaneous moments of creativity, a collaboration was set up between ARM/Manhaton and my old friend Jan-Eric at Ops 3 Records, whose natural recording techniques are perfectly suited to these intimate, moments. & quot; - Eric Bibb & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • High Quality Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;1. & lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;A Swingin' and Dynamic Performance from Sweden's Jazz Pianist Extraordinaire Jorgensen! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Knud Jorgensen, one of Sweden's best swing pianists, here together with Sture Akerberg on bass and Johan Dielemans on drums. Knud offers his own, personal and dynamic interpretations of numerous classics of swing: Satin Doll, Too Late Now, You Look Good To Me, My Heart Stood Still, etc. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Come now, there aren't any volcanoes in Denmark! & quot; I hear you cry. As every schoolboy ought to know, the highest mountain in Denmark is so small that, standing on tiptoe, you can plant your flag on the summit without climbing an inch. True indeed - but you are forgetting Knud Jörgensen! Naturalized Swede he may be, but he makes no secret of his antecedents. His way of speaking tells you as much, though his musical language is international. This, then, is the Danish volcano. Do not be deceived by the titles on this record. No question here of easy jazz or cocktail piano. Musical Molotov Cocktails would be an adapter description. Primitive power, dynamite, and dynamics. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Lars O'Månsson & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; The fact is, the piano playing is so abundantly varied that the recording is quite un-turn-offable. The Sound Quality is Crisp and Clear! & lt;br & gt; & quot; One of the BEST Sounding Guitar Recordings I have EVER heard! & quot; - The Audiophile Voice & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Eric Bibb's album Blues, Ballads And Work Songs covers the complete range of traditional folk/blues songs which were an inherent part of his childhood up to the present time with his own inimitable compositions. This collaboration between Eric Bibb and Jan-Eric Persson features bluesy, traditional songs; standards of the folk/blues scene including Stagger Lee, John Henry, and Take This Hammer. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musical Performance 4.5/5 Stars! Sound Quality 5/5 Stars!!! (Review of SACD) & lt;br & gt; & quot; The recording is awesome in its simplicity, with perfect engineering from Jan-Eric Persson, Opus 3's head honcho. It presents Bibb front and center, sounding perfectly natural and unexaggerated. Throughout the record he uses a number of guitars, which he denotes in each track's written introduction, and the recording is so clean that you can easily hear the differences between instruments. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rad Bennett, www.hometheatersound.com, October 2011 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Opus 3 co-founder and recording engineer Jan-Eric Persson says he used the same tube stereo microphone he had used on Eric Bibb's original recordings, starting in 1977. The result is very good... If you enjoy what Eric Bibb has been doing for the past 35 years, you'll want this album. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Gerard Rejskind, Ultra High Fidelity Magazine No. 90 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; This new (album) from the great Eric Bibb is one of the very best-sounding guitar recordings I have ever heard... The best part of this album is Bibb’s playing, his finger-work. It’s just perfect, super accurate on which note and bending or slipping onto it, if needed, and on-the-pinhead accurate in the timing. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Gene Pitts, The Audiophile Voice, Volume 14, Issue 5 & lt;a href= & quot;http://www.cartnear.com/Opus322111TAVreview1.pdf & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#0000FF & quot; & gt;Click Here to read the entire review! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A highly recommendable, warm-hearted and positive record. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Kari Nevalainen, www.inner-magazines.com, August 2011 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Blues, Ballads & amp; Work Songs is an album I have been working on for most of my life. Its release coincides with my 60th birthday and it celebrates the music that first inspired me to become a guitar-playing singer. My father, Leon Bibb, was part of a wonderful folk music scene in New York City during the 1950s and '60s and his world became my world when I was very young. I still treasure a copy of one of his early LPs on the Vanguard label, & quot;Tol' My Captain & quot;, that included the work song & quot;Take This Hammer & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot; Most of the songs on B, B & amp; WS were & quot;standards & quot; of the folk/blues scene I was exposed to as a child. I heard them performed on countless occasions by my father's friends and colleagues. I often think of this music as part of my DNA. It has a lot to do with who I am today. & quot; - Eric Bibb, July 1, 2011 & lt;/p & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• High Quality 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Lupo at Dubplates and Mastering in Berlin & lt;b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Eric Bibb, guitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; Kahanga & quot;Master Vumbi” Dekula, electric guitar (12) & lt;br & gt; Christer Lyssarides, electric slide guitar (13), Mandola (14) & lt;br & gt; Roger Ekman, Höfner violkin bass, Vintage 63 (12, 13) & lt;br & gt; Bo Juhlin, Sousaphone (14) & lt;br & gt; Svante Drake, Mouth-percussion & amp; shaker (12, 13) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;img border= & quot;0 & quot; src= & quot;/content/images/soundsampletitle.jpg & quot; width= & quot;260 & quot; height= & quot;27 & quot; & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;img border= & quot;0 & quot; src= & quot;/content/images/selectionstitle.jpg & quot; width= & quot;110 & quot; height= & quot;20 & quot; & gt; & lt;table border=0 & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;td & gt; & lt;a href= & quot;http://ed2.cartnear.net/audioclips/opsa22111/01.mp3 & quot; target='_blank' & gt; & lt;img src= & quot;/content/images/mp3.gif & quot; border=0 height=15 & gt; & lt;/img & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;/td & gt; & lt;td class='plaintext' & gt; 1. Driftwood & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; B.B. Driftwood's first album on the Opus 3 label is called “Southward Bound”, a stew spiced with country, soul, blues and gospel mixed with brazilian and cuban rythms. The words of wisdom, confusion, hope and joy are backed by various stringed instruments, upright bass, percussion and underlined by soulfull backing vocals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;No One But Myself To Blame & quot; & amp; & quot;Sticks & amp; Stones & quot; - Rebecka Sjoberg/Sticks & amp; Stones & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Bluegrass Music is a form of American roots music and is a sub-genre of country music. It has mixed roots in Scottish, music of African-American and the English, Welsh and Irish traditional music. But music is a living thing, constantly changing, evolving and influencing young contemporary, creative musicians. Bluegrass continues to inspire beyond the borders of the countries of its origins with a new band from Sweden adding another facet to the jewel of Bluegrass... Sticks & amp; Stones. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Sophisticated Shade & quot; - Eric Bibb & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; “It’s all about a hat up in Santa Fe! I once told my friend Dave Perkins about an unforgettable Panama I’d seen in one of my favourite hat shops. Dave was driving me around California at the time and we turned the story into a song as we were cruisin’ along. I finally got around to recording it with the wonderful Bo Juhlin on Sousaphone and Christer Lyssarides on Mandola.” - Eric Bibb & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;I Can Heart It & quot; - Therese Mercedes Myrhed & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Tess has been singing all of her life at events great and small and her professionalism makes her much in demand for studio work. Her main sources of inspiration have been the female vocalists from the 50's and 60's, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Patsy Cline and Dusty Springfield and closer to home Swedish vocalists Siw Malmqvist and Inger Berggren. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Grey Hound Ride & quot; - Dan & amp; The Electros & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; The production and recording of the album that this track is coming from is unique in the sense that it combines the delicate balance between the rather special sounds achieved during the period from 1955–1963 while at the same time taking advantage of contemporary recording techniques. This track is a tribute to Dick Dale (USA), who is known as “The King of the Surf Guitar”. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Come Back Baby & quot; - Eric Bibb & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; “I started playing this song almost forty years ago, using Dave Von Ronk’s famous arrangement as my point of departure. I’ve recorded it before and I’ll surely record it again. It’s just one of those songs (like “Goin’ Down Slow”) that always takes me to new places.... [T]his one’s played on a Danelectro baritone guitar through my trusty little Vox Pathfinder amp. The vibe is a little swampier, allowing the vocal to lay a little heavier in the hammock. I hear some Lightnin’ Hopkins in there somewhere.” - Eric Bibb & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; The Milky Way & quot; - East & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; The breadth and range of styles, techniques and genre of “Pathfinder” album makes it a unique guitar album in the sense that it cannot be labelled – though perhaps “the complete guitar album” could be considered even though this was not the original aim. Bert “East” Östlund’s musical journey takes us not only to Detroit and Nashville in the USA and Newcastle in England but also to Rio and Paris! The music has all been composed and arranged by “East” himself with music of outstanding quality and featuring his considerable collection of guitars both acoustic and electric and where the Telecaster and Strat play leading roles. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; We'll Be Together Again & quot; - Maria Winther & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Maria Winther is a singer/composer from Stockholm who grew up in the regions of Borås. Winther was introduced to Opus3 Records by the late pianoplayer Gösta Rundqvist and in 2006 they recorded the album “Dreamsville” together. Also appearing on the record are the renowned musicians Joakim Milder on Tenor sax, Christian Spering on Double bass and Ola Hultgren on Drums. The songs on “Dreamsville” are some of Maria's favorite songs from The American Songbook, melodies that have been part of her for a very long time. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Blues avec un Pont & quot; - Tomas Ornberg's BLUE FIVE & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Milton Mesirow, better known as Mezz Mezzrow (1899–1972), was an American jazz clarinetist and saxophonist from Chicago. Mezzrow is well known for organizing and financing historic recording sessions with Tommy Ladnier and Sidney Bechet. Mezzrow also played and recorded a number of times with Bechet and briefly acted as manager for Louis Armstrong. However, he is remembered as much for being a colorful character in his autobiography Really The Blues as for his music. His composition Blues avec un Pont (Blues with a Bridge) always appealed to Tomas Örnberg and fits his soulful and emotional way of playing the Clarinet and Soprano Saxophone. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Cake Walkin' Babies From Home & quot; - Eva Taylor & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; We think that Magic is the word which comes to mind in connection with this recording. It was certainly a magic night at The Pawnshop (Stampen) in March, 1976 when a young lady of 81 completely captured and entranced the audience with her stage presence and vibrant personality. Her communication with the musicians and audience combined to elevate her artistry beyond the aural level to include that indefinable ingredient... atmosphere. This atmosphere was retrieved from our vaults from 36 years ago and like a good wine has aged well as lovers of jazz from the twenties will appreciate. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; It's Never Too Late & quot; - Dan & amp; The Electros & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; This song is a tribute to Santos & amp; Johnny who wrote the song “Sleepwalk” in 1959 which also inspired The Shadows who recorded it on their first LP (1961) and will always be associated with this song. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; B.B. Yamina How Deep is the Ocean 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g High Quality Vinyl LP Featuring & quot;My Foolish Heart, & quot; & quot;Gentle Rain & quot; and & quot;Little Mermaid! & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; If you love high quality recordings you will now be able to enjoy another new record from OPUS 3. The singer Yamina has chosen to be recorded by this Swedish quality record company, which is usually synonymous with enjoyable listening. Whether it is true in this case you can read in the review below. We suggest that you start by pouring yourself a glass of your favorite wine. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Enjoyable listening - naturally via a high quality stereo system - can really make your day. For many vinyl fans the audiophile records mean something very special and the status in their record collection is high. Jan-Eric Persson, the owner of the record company OPUS 3 since the 70's (at that time still together with Bo Hansson), is fully aware of this. For him the sound quality has always been vital - and as a consequence also the pure acoustic music - and this is certainly still true today. And this is true when It comes to & quot; How Deep Is The Ocean & quot; - in all respects! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Six Swedish musicians, no doubt unknown here in Germany, show us once again which potential there is in the country of the moose and the blond inhabitants. Yamina, with her dark hair, sings in a way that rather makes you think of an American diva. The material on & quot; How Deep is The Ocean & quot; is in fact partly retrieved from the American music treasure and her own compositions are also very close to this style. Her voice is soft but full of character, enriched by dark tones. She manages to capture magical moments and emphasizes them through the perfect pitch. All the twelve songs are recorded as ballads, elegant and spiced with elements of smooth jazz orchestrated with a little Latino and songwriter music. Yamina also plays piano, accompanied by Björn Jansson on the tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, the cellist Anna Wallgren, Mats Andersson on acoustic guitar, Robert Erlandsson on contrabass and Thomas Wingren on percussion. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Somewhat unexpected, this record has a concept which builds on the fairy tale about & quot; The Little Mermaid & quot; by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. On the album cover you can read the song lyrics as well as Yaminas explanations. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; As already mentioned, this LP is exactly what a pretentious vinyl fan could wish for. It offers precise recreation of the different instruments, clean, spatial depth and with the finest timbre. This was, among other things, obtained by having everybody playing simultaneously (as at a live concert) and because the sound technicians Jan-Eric Persson and Erik Nordström did not want to use any musical add-ons. This is not a pure analogue recording, instead the extreme high quality DSD128 8-channel process is employed. Thereafter, however, an analogue mixing was done - so here many listeners will get it right. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot; How Deep Is The Ocean & quot; feels like diving down into an ocean of acoustic delight, musically as well as sonically. Yamina has appeared as a new name on the radar and with this LP we have discovered a real gem! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; It is the first album recorded in 8-channel native DSD128 for Opus 3 Records and, of course, mixed 100% analogue, i.e. it has never been in the PCM domain which is also what & quot;native & quot; stands for. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded Live in Jarna Kulturhus Concert Hall, Sweden, August, 2015. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Recording and Mixing Equipment: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;MICROPHONES: AKG Vacuum tube condenser microphones:AKG C12VR and AKG C-24 (stereo).AKG-D-12, Beyer Dynamic M-160 and Thuresson condenser microphones, CM-402 and CM-504 (stereo-microphone) & lt;br & gt; MICROPHONE PREAMPLIFIERS: Thuresson 4-channel custom made, and Opus 3 Records Vacuum Tube, custom made by Kjell Malmberg & lt;br & gt; ANALOGUE AUDIO MIXER: Sony MX-P61 & lt;br & gt; DIGITAL EQUIPMENT: 4 x Tascam DA-3000 used in pure DSD128 & lt;br & gt; MONITOR SPEAKERS: Totem Acoustics, Mani-2 Signature & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • High Quality Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering & lt;br & gt; • Mixed by Jan-Eric Persson and Erik Nordstrom & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Yamina, vocals, piano & lt;br & gt; Bjorn Jansson, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet & lt;br & gt; Anna Wallgren, cello & lt;br & gt; Mats Andersson, 7-string guitar & lt;br & gt; Robert Erlandsson, double bass & lt;br & gt; Thomas Wingren, percussion & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Jem Beachwood Canyon 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Smooth, Velvety Female Vocals On 180g Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Beachwood Canyon, Jem's third studio album is a beautifully constructed 9-track odyssey into 1960s classic songwriting. Also showcasing her production skills, the record delivers a continuous feeling of yesteryear, reminiscent at times of the alluring sounds of Simon and Garfunkel, The Byrds and the Beatles. The glow of California echoes throughout the music while Jem's velvety vocals and insightful lyrics serenade. Playful doo-wop girl group harmonies take stage along with a very timely 'call to peace' song, further evoking the spirit of the '60s. The album's roots were established when Jem lived in LA's renowned Beachwood Canyon, famed for being the winding road that leads to the Hollywood Sign. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The majority of the album was recorded at the legendary Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, CA, where fittingly Jem's idol, Stevie Wonder, wrote his seminal & quot;Songs in the Key of Life & quot;. Jem's platinum debut (with ubiquitous song & quot; They & quot;) has sold over a million copies worldwide, she's amassed millions of views on YouTube, and her music from both Finally Woken and Down To Earth still rings out daily in shopping malls and coffee shops around the globe. Her songs have been featured in numerous films, trailer, TV shows and commercials from Sex and the City : The Movie, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Julie and Julia, Friends With Money, Closer, Admission, Eragon, Ultraviolet, Damages, The O.C., Gossip Girl, Medium, Six Feet Under, Lexus, Fiat, Pantene, Special K and many more. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Jem's performed high-profile sets at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch! and the UK's Glastonbury and V festivals. She's played stadium shows across the US supporting Dave Matthews Band and shared billing with Kanye, The Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, the Pixies, Arcade Fire, P!nk, Ray LaMontagne and performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; ABOUT JEM: Growing up in a small town outside the Welsh capital, Jem later moved to Brighton and obtained her law degree while DJing and club promoting, pioneering the city's early Drum 'n Bass scene. She went on to label manage a small breakbeat imprint before assisting at acclaimed club night 'Big Beat Boutique' which launched the DJ career of Fatboy Slim. Moving into her lifelong calling of making music, Jem learnt to navigate a simple bedroom-studio set up and spent several years recording and pounding pavements in London and New York trying to secure a record deal. Her earliest break came when a chance encounter led to her writing & quot;Nothing Fails & quot; for Madonna's American Life album. Still unsigned, a trip to Hollywood in 2002 proved pivotal when she dropped her self-made demo at the door of KCRW, LA's revered radio station, where it quickly became the No.1 listener requested. Moving across the Atlantic to Los Angeles in 2004, she's never looked back and the rest is history. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. B.B. Leon & Triple Threat Blues Barn 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;High Quality 180g Vinyl LP! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;Opus 3 is happy to release their first real Rock/Blues album, Blues Barn, with B.B. Leon & amp; Triple Treat. It is more or less a live studio recording and the mixing is 100% analog. Two tracks included here were sampled on the 40th Anniversary Celebration Album from Opus 3. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Bo Nordin's (B.B. Leon) father, Ingvar, was a musician and his role model, which resulted in a five year old playing the drums to his Jerry lee Lewis-inspired father's piano playing. On this album, & quot;Boogie For Dad & quot; is his tribute to his father, whose Boogie-inspired piano playing had been such an inspiration to Bo. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;At the age of ten he took up the piano followed some years later by the guitar - the change being induced by problems with the grand piano in the rehearsal room. His first band where he is on piano was All Night Sam and The Twelve Bar Sisters in 1978. In 1981 Bo bought his first guitar, a 1977 Gibson Les Paul. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;With the band Hound Dogs in 1982 he started to play Blues. First with Ian Haugland on drums and then in 1989 Mic Michaeli joined on keyboards - both of these two gentlemen have been part of the Swedish hard rock band Europe. It was with this band that Bo began writing songs, initially together with other band members but then eventually on his own. In 1992 he started to play with Thomas Lingman, who plays drums on this album. Lasse Falck joined on bass in 2005 and Mattias Lundqvist on Hammond organ and piano in 2016, when B.B. Leon and Triple Treat was founded. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;High Quality 180g Vinyl LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastering by Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;LP Cutting by Lupo at CALYX Mastering, Berlin & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gatefold jacket & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;B.B. Peder Af Ugglas Autumn Shuffle 180g LP (Vinyl)
Starting at an early age Peder taught himself boogie-woogie on piano later turning to classical music. However the call of rock and jazz became predominant with the music of Louis Armstrong, Jan Johansson and the Rolling Stones among the main sources of his inspiration. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Later the guitar became his main instrument. Nevertheless, all types of keyboards and piano continues to play a significant role in his musical productions. He has worked together with many prominent Swedish artists, including Louise Hoffsten, Anders Widmark, Stefan Sundström and Sara Isaksson, producing several of Stefan's albums and Sara's latest. He also played in the Bob Manning band for a number of years. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Most recently he has composed the music for exhibitions of the work of artists Christer Themptander and Hasse Lindroth, as well as composing music for both cinema and television films. His approach to his own music is characterized and very much influenced by impressions and experiences, atmosphere and feelings. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Together with harmonica-player and vocalist Björn Hamrin, who was co-producer of this album, he has the band Topolinos - a band from which many of the musicians on this album are drawn. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Playing all variety of acoustic and electric guitars and keyboards and accompanied by a varying group of instruments, from harmonica to Hammond organ to trombone, Ugglas presents a program of folksy, bluesy originals. Opus 3 captures close-up, his touch on the strings and the resonance of the instruments. & quot; - Kalman Rubinson, Stereophile May 2005, page 52. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • High Quality Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;br & gt; Peder af Ugglas, electric guitars & amp; slide, acoustic guitars & amp; slide, mandolin electric bass, keyboards, cümbüs percussion and piano & lt;br & gt; Malte Sjöstrand, Hammond B3 and Fender Rhodes & lt;br & gt; Henrik Wartel, drums and percussion & lt;br & gt; Bo Nordenfeldt, upright bass & lt;br & gt; Patrik Silvereke, accordion & lt;br & gt; Dave Wilczewski, tenor sax & lt;br & gt; Lars Höbinger, trombone & lt;br & gt; Björn Hamrin, harmonica & lt;br & gt; Mattias Wager, organ (Hedvig Eleonoras Church in Stockholm) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Eric Bibb & Needed Time Good Stuff 180g 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
Since Eric Bibb's breakthrough with the Opus 3 recording & quot;Spirit & amp; The Blues & quot; in Autumn of 1994, a great deal has happened in Eric's life. In Spring of 1996 he was an outstanding success at the London Blues Festival (April) and later he was equally well received in Canada at the Vancouver Folk & amp; Blues Festival (August). On both occasions the plaudits were shared by slide guitarist Göran Wennerbrandt who, as well as playing on both of the albums, also produced this release. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On the new album we have in general the same musicians who contributed to the success of & quot;Spirit & amp; The Blues, & quot; including the gospel quartet The Deacons. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; One of the main features of this new album is that Eric has written ten of the fourteen songs himself, with credits shared on three of the others. The remaining instrumental Blacksmith Island was written by the band Needed Time. In style the album has retained the musical breadth of & quot;Spirit & amp; The Blues & quot; while being a little more & quot;bluesy & quot; in feeling. Also included are the radio singles Shingle By Shingle and Good Stuff. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A must ! - Eric Bibb's acoustic blue/gospel goes straight to the heart. Calmly and dexterously Eric Bibb, together with the superlative group Needed Time, give listeners 14 good reasons to continue wandering in Lonesome Valley. Where The Green Grass Grows is my personal favourite, a gospel with a delightful pedal organ and The Deacons gospel choir, and a glorious slide guitar solo by Göran Wennerbrandt. But exactly as on their first album Spirit & amp; The Blues there isn't a single bad track on Good Stuff. Buy both, no blues collection is complete without them. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Sydsvenska Dagbladet & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Double LP, 45rpm & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
