Beachwood Canyon, Jem's third studio album is a beautifully constructed 9-track odyssey into 1960s classic songwriting. Also showcasing her production skills, the record delivers a continuous feeling of yesteryear, reminiscent at times of the alluring sounds of Simon and Garfunkel, The Byrds and the Beatles. The glow of California echoes throughout the music while Jem's velvety vocals and insightful lyrics serenade. Playful doo-wop girl group harmonies take stage along with a very timely 'call to peace' song, further evoking the spirit of the '60s. The album's roots were established when Jem lived in LA's renowned Beachwood Canyon, famed for being the winding road that leads to the Hollywood Sign.

The majority of the album was recorded at the legendary Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, CA, where fittingly Jem's idol, Stevie Wonder, wrote his seminal "Songs in the Key of Life". Jem's platinum debut (with ubiquitous song "They") has sold over a million copies worldwide, she's amassed millions of views on YouTube, and her music from both Finally Woken and Down To Earth still rings out daily in shopping malls and coffee shops around the globe. Her songs have been featured in numerous films, trailer, TV shows and commercials from Sex and the City : The Movie, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Julie and Julia, Friends With Money, Closer, Admission, Eragon, Ultraviolet, Damages, The O.C., Gossip Girl, Medium, Six Feet Under, Lexus, Fiat, Pantene, Special K and many more.

Jem's performed high-profile sets at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch! and the UK's Glastonbury and V festivals. She's played stadium shows across the US supporting Dave Matthews Band and shared billing with Kanye, The Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, the Pixies, Arcade Fire, P!nk, Ray LaMontagne and performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

ABOUT JEM: Growing up in a small town outside the Welsh capital, Jem later moved to Brighton and obtained her law degree while DJing and club promoting, pioneering the city's early Drum 'n Bass scene. She went on to label manage a small breakbeat imprint before assisting at acclaimed club night 'Big Beat Boutique' which launched the DJ career of Fatboy Slim. Moving into her lifelong calling of making music, Jem learnt to navigate a simple bedroom-studio set up and spent several years recording and pounding pavements in London and New York trying to secure a record deal. Her earliest break came when a chance encounter led to her writing "Nothing Fails" for Madonna's American Life album. Still unsigned, a trip to Hollywood in 2002 proved pivotal when she dropped her self-made demo at the door of KCRW, LA's revered radio station, where it quickly became the No.1 listener requested. Moving across the Atlantic to Los Angeles in 2004, she's never looked back and the rest is history.
