Audiophile 180g LP! The Sound Quality is Crisp and Clear!
"One of the BEST Sounding Guitar Recordings I have EVER heard!" - The Audiophile Voice

Eric Bibb's album Blues, Ballads And Work Songs covers the complete range of traditional folk/blues songs which were an inherent part of his childhood up to the present time with his own inimitable compositions. This collaboration between Eric Bibb and Jan-Eric Persson features bluesy, traditional songs; standards of the folk/blues scene including Stagger Lee, John Henry, and Take This Hammer.

Musical Performance 4.5/5 Stars! Sound Quality 5/5 Stars!!! (Review of SACD)
"The recording is awesome in its simplicity, with perfect engineering from Jan-Eric Persson, Opus 3's head honcho. It presents Bibb front and center, sounding perfectly natural and unexaggerated. Throughout the record he uses a number of guitars, which he denotes in each track's written introduction, and the recording is so clean that you can easily hear the differences between instruments."
- Rad Bennett, www.hometheatersound.com, October 2011

"Opus 3 co-founder and recording engineer Jan-Eric Persson says he used the same tube stereo microphone he had used on Eric Bibb's original recordings, starting in 1977. The result is very good... If you enjoy what Eric Bibb has been doing for the past 35 years, you'll want this album." - Gerard Rejskind, Ultra High Fidelity Magazine No. 90

"This new (album) from the great Eric Bibb is one of the very best-sounding guitar recordings I have ever heard... The best part of this album is Bibb’s playing, his finger-work. It’s just perfect, super accurate on which note and bending or slipping onto it, if needed, and on-the-pinhead accurate in the timing." - Gene Pitts, The Audiophile Voice, Volume 14, Issue 5 Click Here to read the entire review!

"A highly recommendable, warm-hearted and positive record." - Kari Nevalainen, www.inner-magazines.com, August 2011

"Blues, Ballads & Work Songs is an album I have been working on for most of my life. Its release coincides with my 60th birthday and it celebrates the music that first inspired me to become a guitar-playing singer. My father, Leon Bibb, was part of a wonderful folk music scene in New York City during the 1950s and '60s and his world became my world when I was very young. I still treasure a copy of one of his early LPs on the Vanguard label, "Tol' My Captain", that included the work song "Take This Hammer".

"Most of the songs on B, B & WS were "standards" of the folk/blues scene I was exposed to as a child. I heard them performed on countless occasions by my father's friends and colleagues. I often think of this music as part of my DNA. It has a lot to do with who I am today." - Eric Bibb, July 1, 2011
