The score to King of Thieves has a robust big band sound in the same vein as classic 1960s heist scores.

From the producers of Legend and Baby Driver, and featuring an all-star cast of home grown legends led by Sir Michael Caine, King of Thieves is the darkly funny, incredible true story of the Hatton Garden robbery, the most daring heist in British criminal history. James Marsh (The Theory of Everything) directed the film.

Scoring duties on King of Thieves came to Golden Globe, BAFTA, Grammy and Emmy nominated composer Benjamin Wallasch. Wallasch’s career spans over 70 feature films, most recently including Denis Villeneuve’s critically acclaimed Blade Runner:2049, in collaboration with Academy Award winning composer and regular collaborator Hans Zimmer; Andy Muschietti’s It, the most successful horror film of all time; Academy Award Best Picture nominee, Hidden Figures in collaboration with Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer).

For King of Thieves, Wallasch composed a big band score with a Quincy Jones vibe in the best tradition of 1960s film scores. It’s homage to masters such as Henry Mancini, John Barry and Lalo Schifrin.
