50th anniversary of Grateful Dead's first album to be certified Gold. Original album tracks, newly remastered by GRAMMY ® Award-winning engineer, David Glasser with Plangent Process Speed Correction. On 180-gram, Black Vinyl with Stoughton Tip-On
Jacket & Sticker Insert. Produced for release by David Lemieux.
The band's second live double album, it was their best selling album until the compilation Skeletons From The Closet was released in 1974. Originally, the band wanted the album's title to be "Skull Fuck," but Warner Bros refused, so the album was left
without an official title. As a result, it has lovingly become known as Skull And Roses due to its famous cover art.
