The seventh studio album by Green Day was co-produced with Rob Cavallo. It was one of the most anticipated and controversial albums of the year in 2004 when it was originally released. Scathing yet self-effacing as it tells the tale of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, American Idiot is a punk rock epic.
