Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis 3LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt;
& lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;3LP Concert Recording Features Joan Baez, Elvis Costello, Jack White, Keb Mo & amp; The Avett Brothers! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;/header & gt;
& lt;p & gt;A one-night-only concert was held at New York City's Town Hall in the fall of 2014, to celebrate the music of the Coen brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis. The evening was filmed for a documentary that was broadcast by Showtime that winter, and Nonesuch
Records released a live recording of the concert, Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of & quot;Inside Llewyn Davis & quot;, on January 13, 2015. The concert, documentary, and live album were produced by Inside Llewyn Davis writer/director/producers
Joel and Ethan Coen and soundtrack producer T Bone Burnett. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;As Burnett explained, & lt;strong & gt; & quot;Inside Llewyn Davis was filled with live performances of some of the folk songs that had survived the McCarthy hearings. Some of the songs were a hundred years old; some had just been written but sounded a hundred years old. In
order to get attention for a film that was not exactly on the beat we decided to throw a concert featuring the actors and musicians who had performed in the movie and on the soundtrack. We also invited members of the extraordinary community of musicians
who have coalesced around this old music - and have kept it alive in the wake of the most recent technological revolution - to join us that night. We asked them to perform an old song and one of their new songs. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;He continued, & lt;strong & gt; & quot;Several new stars emerged from their performances that evening - The Secret Sisters, Lake Street Dive, The Milk Carton Kids, Rhiannon Giddens, and Punch Brothers all proved themselves as good as the best as they took the stage next to Hall
of Famers Joan Baez and Elvis Costello, and established younger artists like The Avett Brothers, Colin Meloy, Marcus Mumford, Conor Oberst, Willie Watson, Gillian Welch, and Jack White. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; In fact, T Bone Burnett has since produced albums by both Punch
Brothers and Rhiannon Giddens, released shortly after Another Day, Another Time. & lt;/p & gt;
& lt;p & gt;Huffington Post called Another Day, Another Time & lt;strong & gt; & quot;one of those only-in-New-York events, & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; while Rolling Stone said it was & lt;strong & gt; & quot;a bustling salute to the sounds and the idea of Sixties folk music, & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; and continued, & lt;strong & gt; & quot;For all the formality of the night, which was exceedingly well-paced and organized, the concert recalled a time when one or two people, bearing one or two unplugged instruments, could be as enthralling as the greatest rock or EDM track. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt;

Neil Young & Crazy Horse Americana 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180 Gram Audiophile Double Vinyl Set! Beautiful Matte-Finish, Gatefold Jacket with 28-Page 8.5 & quot; x 11 & quot; Lyric Book! Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the Original Analog Masters! Special 'Crazy Horse' Etching featured on Side D! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Americana is the first album to be released by Neil Young and Crazy Horse since 2003's Greendale and their first with the full Crazy Horse line-up including Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank & quot;Poncho & quot; Sampedro since Broken Arrow in 1996. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; As you'll see from the track-listing, AMERICANA is a collection of classic, American folk songs. In their day, some of these may have been referred to as & quot;protest songs, & quot; & quot;murder ballads, & quot; or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for everyman. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Some of these compositions, like & quot;Tom Dooley & quot; and & quot;Oh Susannah, & quot; were written in the 1800s, while others, like & quot;This Land Is Your Land & quot; (utilizing the original, widely misinterpreted & quot;deleted verses & quot;) and & quot;Get A Job, & quot; are mid-20th-century folk classics. It's also interesting to note that & quot;God Save The Queen, & quot; Britain's national anthem, also became the de facto national anthem of sorts before the establishment of The Union as we know it until we came to adopt our very own & quot;The Star Spangled Banner, & quot; which has been recognized for use as early as 1889 and made our official national anthem in 1931. Each of these compositions is very much part of the fabric of our American heritage; the roots of what we think of as & quot;Americana & quot; in cultural terms, using songs as a way of passing along information and documenting our past. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist, the emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what's going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. The lyrics reflect the same concerns and are still remarkably meaningful to a society going through economic and cultural upheaval, especially during an election year. They are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Recorded on a Universal Audio tube console and to Studer two-inch eighttrack analog tape, thick chords and rough-and-ready riffs hang, wander, growl, gurgle, and toss around in the dirt; drum beats smack and slap like wet towels whapped against a cement wall. Everything, save for several well-placed choir vocal passages, is captured in the moment, fortifying Americana as the sound of a real, live band performing in a real space. After the collectives nine-year hiatus, the dynamic is refreshing and reinvigorating to experience once again, even if its now been in commission for fourplus decades. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Bob Gendron, TONEAudio, No. 46, May 2012 & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;On Young's first studio LP with the full Crazy Horse lineup since 1996, the garage-rock heroes rip through furious, feedback-drenched takes on folk standards from & quot;Oh Susanna & quot; to & quot;This Land Is Your Land. & quot; Most of the covers boast haunting new melodies, and Young's raging, Ragged Glory-ish solos tangle with ghostly harmonies from a children's choir. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - www.rollingstone.com, April 2012 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;At the Slamdance Film Festival earlier this year, Young talked about the album. & quot;A very young choir of children plays with Crazy Horse [on the album,] & quot; he said. & quot;They're songs we all know from kindergarten, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Andy Greene, rollingstone.com, March 2012 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...[O]ne of Young's best efforts, as he and the band are obviously enjoying themselves throughout these vibrant sessions. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Greg Cahill, The Absolute Sound, October 2012 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; AMERICANA was produced by Neil and John Hanlon along with Mark Humphreys, and engineered by John Hanlon with John Hausmann and Jeff Pinn. It was recorded at Audio Casa Blanca by John Hanlon. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Signal Path A-A-A. Recorded on Universal Audio Tube Console and Neve BCM 10 Junior Console. On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. Were excited for the world to hear Turn Blue. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This is the eighth full-length album from the duo and follows 2011s critically and commercially acclaimed El Camino, which is now certified RIAA Platinum. Internationally, El Camino is Gold in Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Holland; Platinum in Ireland, France and the UK; and double Platinum in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The record also resulted in three awards at the 55th annual Grammy AwardsBest Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album. Hes a musical universe unto himself, expanding at a nearly immeasurable rate, ever more hard to define as a mind-blowing guitarist, a dazzling songwriter and engagingly soulful singer. With his debut album Blak And Blu he became the first artist ever recognized by the Recording Academy with Grammy Award nominations in both the rock and R & amp;B categories for the same album in the same year, winning the latter: Best Traditional R & amp;B Performance - Please Come Home (from the album Blak And Blu). Rolling Stone dubbed Clark The King of the Summer Festivals as he captivated audiences from Coachella to Glastonbury, Lollapalooza to the New Orleans Jazz & amp; Heritage Festival, from Metallicas Orion Festival to Jay-Zs Made in America, and of course his hometown Austin City Limits Festival, where he his band set a daytime attendance record. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The chosen one. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;One hell of a mean guitar tone, playing solos that claw and scream their stories with ornery splendor...but Clark won't be genre-bound. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The most exciting blues-based instrumentalist to emerge since Jack White. Originally released in 1975 and representing not only a rebirth of the band, with the edition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham but really a second debut for a group firmly rooted in the rock genre, now reinventing themselves into a pop rock force in a way that few other artists can lay claim to... Includes the iconic songs, & quot;Rhiannon, & quot; & quot;Say You Love Me, & quot; and & quot;Over My Head & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This is the first Fleetwood Mac album to feature Lindsey Buckingham as guitarist and Stevie Nicks as vocalist, after Bob Welch departed the band in late 1974. The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 over a year after entering the chart, and set a record for most weeks on the chart before reaching the top position. The album launched three top twenty singles: & quot;Over My Head & quot;, & quot;Rhiannon & quot; and & quot;Say You Love Me & quot;, the last two falling just short of the top ten, both at No. 11. In 1986, it was certified 5x platinum by the RIAA representing shipments of five million units. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Cut for vinyl at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the original analog tapes and pressed on vinyl at 33rpm for the very best in audio presentation. A collectible and definitive version for any generation. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and his missus, Christine, had been through myriad lineups before finding California couple Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. The Dead Weather Sea Of Cowards 180g LP (Vinyl)
Sea Of Cowards is a robust and vigorous second act, filled with primal, bone quaking rock rhythms and the same stellar urban blues and throbbing sleaze as its predecessor; but this time The Dead Weather push their sound even further, brilliantly building upon their raw chemistry to create the most vital sounding album you'll hear all year. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The latest musical adventure by Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), epitomizes the alt-rock ethic--do the music you love, do it yourself, and do it fast. The Dead Weather brings together lead singer Alison Mosshart (half of the London-based lo-fi post-punk duo The Kills), Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita, The Raconteurs' bassist Jack Lawrence, and White on drums and vocals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Single pocket Gatefold & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Wilco Wilco (The Album) 180g LP & CD (Vinyl)
Alternative rock band Wilco release their 7th studio album & quot;Wilco (The Album) & quot;. The recording features the first duet for Wilco, & quot;You and I & quot;, which was recorded with Canadian indie folk artist & quot;Feist & quot;. & amp;nbsp; The LP is pressed on audiophile-quality, 180-gram vinyl and includes the full album on CD. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The new offering by the Chicago sextet features, among other things, eleven new songs, a duet with Canadian songwriter/vocalist Leslie Feist and a camel named Alfred as its cover star. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The new songs find Tweedy juxtaposing heady, heavy themes like disillusionment (Country Disappeared), martyrdom (Ill Fight) and homicide (Bull Black Nova) with acceptance (You Never Know), love (You and I), humor (Wilco (the song)) and more. Sonically the album draws on many of the best elements of Wilco's wide-ranging previous work, while incorporating Tweedy's objective to & quot;use the studio as another instrument. The result is a unique, complex endeavor. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; After several weeks of writing and recording in Auckland where they were invited to participate in the 7 Worlds Collide benefit album, one by one, band members returned to Chicago. Joined by Jim Scott and loaded with inspiration and vision, the full band reconvened at the Loft in Chicago. From there the process was swift. Together with Scott, the six members worked, collaborating further on what they had started in October (following the release of Sky Blue Sky) and expanding on what was recorded in New Zealand. Feist made a guest appearance at the Loft in February to record a duet that Tweedy had sent her months earlier, and the new record was done. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...musically, Wilco (the album) offers a little bit of everything while making good on frontman Jeff Tweedy's stated goal to use 'the studio as another instrument. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Billboard & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 180 Gram High-Performance Audiophile Vinyl! & lt;br & gt; Mastered from original tapes & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; CD of the entire album & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Tori Amos Little Earthquakes 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Tori's 1992 Debut Solo Album Remastered and Reissued on 180g Vinyl! & lt;br & gt; Half Speed Master Cut at Abbey Road Studios! Available for the First Time in the US! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Little Earthquakes features the singles & quot;Silent All These Years, & quot; & quot;China, & quot; & quot;Winter, & quot; and & quot;Crucify! & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Despite the disappointing reaction to Y Kant Tori Read (former music group), Tori Amos still had to comply with her six-record contract with Atlantic Records, who in 1989 wanted a new record by March 1990. The initial recordings were declined by the label, which Amos felt was because the album had not been properly presented. The album was reworked and expanded under the guidance of Doug Morris and the musical talents of Steve Caton, Eric Rosse, Will MacGregor, Carlo Nuccio, and Dan Nebenzal, resulting in Little Earthquakes, an album recounting her religious upbringing, sexual awakening, struggle to establish her identity, and sexual assault. This album became her commercial and artistic breakthrough. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Little Earthquakes was released in the UK on January 13th, 1992 and in the US in early February. The album was preceded by two singles, Me And A Gun in October 1991 and Silent All These Years in November. Little Earthquakes produced a treasure trove of singles as well as covers, remixes, and live cuts. Little Earthquakes reached platinum record status in the US, and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A classically trained pianist and songwriter, Tori Amos has spent... years challenging expectations and the very concept of 'mainstream-friendly.' As an icon of the '90s alternative boom, she sang openly about religion, rape and the steamy underbelly of femininity, mounting her piano bench like so many rock stars straddled their guitars. In the process, she has sold 8.4 million albums, according to Nielsen SoundScan, inspired a legion of loyal fans and reclaimed the piano as an instrument of resistance. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -billboard.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;With her haunting solo debut Little Earthquakes, Tori Amos carved the template for the female singer/songwriter movement of the '90s... Amos' musings on major personal issues -- religion, relationships, gender, childhood -- were just as likely to encompass rage, sarcasm, and defiant independence as pain or tenderness; sometimes, it all happened in the same song... Amos draws strength from her relentless vulnerability, and that's why the constantly shifting emotions of the material never seem illogical -- Amos simply delights in the frankness of her own responses, whatever they might be... Little Earthquakes is the most accessible work in Amos' catalog, and it's also the most influential and rewarding. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Steve Huey, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Tori Amos's songs are smart, melodic and dramatic; the deeper you listen, the hotter they get. Amos shares common ground with artfolk songstresses like Kate Bush and Jane Siberry, but while they often deal in abstruse, poetic terms, Amos has a tendency to cut to the quick, to face facts, to call a rape a rape. Little Earthquakes is an often pretty, subtly progressive song cycle that reflects darkly on sexual alienation and personal struggles. Aiming for a delicate balance between the earthy and the ethereal, Amos shifts from a whispering coyness to full-throated earnestness... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Josef Woodard, Rolling Stone, Rated 4/5 Stars & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Remastered & lt;br & gt; Half Speed Master cut at Abbey Road Studios & lt;br & gt; Available for the first time in the US & lt;br & gt; New liner notes & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Ceaseless Roar & quot; is his label debut with Nonesuch and features 11 new recordings, nine of which are original songs written by Robert Plant with his band, The Sensational Space Shifters Justin Adams: bendirs, djembe, guitars, tehardant, background vocals; John Baggott: keyboards, loops, moog bass, piano, tabal, background vocals; Juldeh Camara: kologo, ritti, Fulani vocals; Billy Fuller: bass, drum programming, omnichord, upright bass; Dave Smith: drum set; and Liam Skin Tyson: banjo, guitar, background vocals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar is Plants first record since 2010s Band of Joy, which followed 2007s six-time Grammy Awardwinning collaboration with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand. Justin Adams and John Baggott of The Sensational Space Shifters appeared on Plants 2002 release Dreamland, while all but Camara and Smith appeared on 2005s Mighty Rearranger. The line-up for the album & quot;lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar & quot; recently toured the world before recording the album at Helium Studios in Wiltshire and Real World Studios in Bath, UK. The track Rainbow was recorded in Contino Rooms in London. Tchad Blake mixed all but three tracks on the album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Its really a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep, & lt;/b & gt; Plant says. & lt;b & gt;The whole impetus of my life as a singer has to be driven by a good brotherhood. I am very lucky to work with The Sensational Space Shifters. They come from exciting areas of contemporary music... I have been around awhile and I ask myself, do I have anything to say? Is there a song still inside me? In my heart? I see life and whats happening to me. Along the trail there are expectations, disappointments, happiness, questions and strong relationships, Plant explains, ... and now Im able to express my feelings through melody, power and trance; together in a kaleidoscope of sound, colour, and friendship. & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Plants writing and performing reflects his infinite artistic and intellectual curiosity, fed by his global travels, with influences from West Coast psychedelic rock, roots blues, African music, and traditional American and European folk. His recent collaboration with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand, further expanded his horizons. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the album won six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. His most recent release, Band of Joy, was co-produced by Buddy Miller and revived his 1967s bands name. It featured several stellar country/Americana musicians performing music from Low, Townes Van Zant, Richard Thompson, and others. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;//www.youtube.com/embed/F3L0EUbRJGk?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; Includes album on CD & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 - Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Genesis Duke 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g Vinyl Reissue! Half Speed Mastered & amp; Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Duke is the tenth studio album from the English rock band Genesis, released in March 1980 on Charisma Records. Duke is one of Genesis' groundbreaking albums and their biggest selling one after stripping down to the threesome of Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford. Duke was Genesis first ever No.1 album and it finally provided them with a firm foothold in the USA via some of the great singles from the album, namely, the strutting Turn It On Again, the sprightly Duchess, and the excellent Misunderstanding. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Duke was the album via which Genesis finally managed to shed their heavy progressive rock tag and start to branch out a bit more - especially with the additional confidence of Phil Collins' vocals after replacing Peter Gabriel. The result was an album which boosted their worldwide audience massively and paved the way for both Genesis and Phil Collins' later success. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Genesis have always been known for their sense of spectacle and their groundbreaking live shows, as much as their ambitious studio albums like the evergreen Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Over the last four decades, the group has sold 150 million albums worldwide and has influenced the likes of Elbow, The Flaming Lips, and Jeff Buckley. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...this is a major leap forward in distinguishing the sound of Genesis... & quot; & lt;/b & gt;-Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Deluxe Edition & lt;br & gt; 180g Audiophile Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Half Speed Mastering & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; 2008 Mixes by Nick Davis & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Eagles Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Premium HQ 180 Gram Vinyl, Cut from the Original Analog Master Tapes & amp; Original Packaging with Embossed Cover! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Greatest Selling Greatest Hits Album of All-Time!!! The Eagles are, without a doubt, one of the most influential American bands of all time. Direct from L.A., these musicians brought together various influences and melded them into a sound that established a new musical direction in both rock and country. Whether it is the opening guitars driving the beat of Take It Easy or the lilting melody of Best Of My Love, the Eagles' tight harmonies, smooth lead vocals and masterful musicianship enable THEIR GREATEST HITS to play like a jukebox in country-rock heaven. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The pre-Hotel California years were arguably the best for The Eagles (though there were, thanks to Joe Walsh, some stellar future moments). Their mix of country, folk, and rock had a harder, grittier edge, and helped define what would become known as the Southern California sound. There was just enough of a country feel in the beautiful harmonies of & quot;Best of My Love, & quot; to blur the edges between the genres. The twang that characterizes the guitar intro to & quot;Already Gone & quot; and the leads in & quot;Witchy Woman & quot; and & quot;One of These Nights, & quot; also pays tribute to country's guitar greats. Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 houses a scant ten singles, but not only does it illustrate the magic of the collaboration between Glen Frey and Don Henley, it shows the breadth of The Eagles impact on the many who would follow their lead. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; Premium HQ 180 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Cut from the Original Analog Master Tapes! & lt;br & gt; Mastered at The Mastering Lab & lt;br & gt; Pressed at RTI & lt;br & gt; Original packaging with Embossed Cover! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris Trio 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;2x Grammy-Winning Album Returns On 180g Vinyl Double LP! & lt;br & gt; Re-Mastered For Vinyl by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab & amp; Pressed at RTI! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Originally released in 1987, Trio sold over 4 million copies worldwide and received two Grammy Awards - for Best country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Produced by George Massenburg, the trio of Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris collaborated to create an award-winning album. & quot;Trio & quot; produced four huge Country hit singles including the remake of Phil Spector's & quot;To Know Him Is To Love Him & quot;. The album hit #1 on the US Country album chart where it stayed for five consecutive weeks. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Bringing together Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt for the album Trio was a truly inspired idea, and not simply because they were three of the finest voices in country and pop music at the time... The three vocalists display an obvious affinity and respect for one another's talents, inspiring superb performances in one another, and while they all shine in their solo spots, some of the album's most pleasurable moments are when the three harmonize, with their distinct but equally impressive voices melding into a whole that's more than the sum of its parts. Harris, Parton, and Ronstadt also make the most of a set of fine songs (certainly a better program than Parton or Ronstadt had taken on in the studio in a while), and producer George Massenburg lined up a wonderfully subtle and intuitive backing group, with Ry Cooder, David Lindley, and Albert Lee picking gloriously without calling undue attention to themselves. In short, Trio is that rare example of an all-star collaborative effort that truly shows everyone involved to their best advantage, and it ranks with the best of all three headliners' work. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Re-Mastered For Vinyl by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab & lt;br & gt; Pressed at RTI & lt;br & gt; Stoughton heavy board jacket with custom dust sleeve & lt;br & gt; Original Package Replicated & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Dolly Parton, vocals & lt;br & gt; Linda Ronstadt, vocals & lt;br & gt; Emmylou Harris, vocals & lt;br & gt; Ry Cooder & lt;br & gt; David Lindley & lt;br & gt; Albert Lee & lt;br & gt; Marc O'Connor & lt;br & gt; Russ Kunkel & lt;br & gt; Kenny Edwards & lt;br & gt; Steve Fishell & lt;br & gt; Bill Payne & lt;br & gt; Herb Pedersen & lt;br & gt; Leland Sklar & lt;br & gt; John Starling & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Wilco A.M. 180g LP & CD (Vinyl)
When Uncle Tupelo, the band that defined '90s alt-country, split into two camps, Jay Farrar's Son Volt took the relatively arty road while Jeff Tweedy upped the rock & amp; roll grit quotient with Wilco. Wilco's debut album, with it's alternative country style, was released in March 1995 and was their only album to feature Brian Henneman as lead guitarist. This album is chock full of country goodness, from the rousing opener & quot;I Must Be High & quot; to the reflective closer, & quot;Too Far Apart. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Wilco's no-frills recipe for heartfelt Country & amp; Western rock is most satisfying, just as Tweedy spells it out in & quot;Blue Eyed Soul & quot;: & quot;Can you keep it simple/Can you let the snare crack/Can you let it move without holding back. & quot; Wilco have done that and more. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Holly George-Warren, Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Pressed at RTI & lt;br & gt; Bonus CD of the entire album & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. They were formed in 1970 in and around Houston from rival bands the Moving Sidewalks (Gibbons) and American Blues (Hill and Beard). Their first two albums reflected the strong blues roots and Texas humor of the band. Their third album (Tres Hombres) gained them national attention with the hit & quot;La Grange, & quot; a signature riff tune to this day, based on John Lee Hooker's & quot;Boogie Chillen. & quot; Their success continued unabated throughout the '70s, culminating with the year-and-a-half-long Worldwide Texas Tour. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Exhausted from the overwhelming workload, they took a three-year break, then switched labels and returned to form with Deguello and El Loco, both harbingers of what was to come. By their next album, Eliminator, and its worldwide smash follow-up, Afterburner, they had successfully harnessed the potential of synthesizers to their patented grungy blues groove, giving their material a more contemporary edge while retaining their patented Texas style. Now sporting long beards, golf hats, and boiler suits, they met the emerging video age head-on, reducing their & quot;message & quot; to simple iconography. Becoming even more popular in the long run, they moved with the times while simultaneously bucking every trend that crossed their path. As genuine roots musicians, they have few peers; Gibbons is one of America's finest blues guitarists working in the arena rock idiom -- both influenced by the originators of the form and British blues-rock guitarists like Peter Green -- while Hill and Beard provide the ultimate rhythm section support. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Pure Americana: This song cycle about burning rubber, high heels and adrenaline took fuzzed-out Texas blues guitar and lashed it around rollicking boogie. ZZ Top's megaplatinum album also had a high-gloss Eighties sheen and singles like 'Sharp Dressed Man' that would help it sell some 10 million copies. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;ZZ Top had reached the top of the charts before, but that didn't make their sudden popularity in 1983 any more predictable. It wasn't that they were just popular -- they were hip, for God's sake, since they were one of the only AOR favorites to figure out to harness the stylish, synthesized grooves of new wave, and then figure out how to sell it on MTV. Of course, it helped that they had songs that deserved to be hits... The Black Keys Brothers 2LP & CD (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;2011 Grammy Award Winner for: & lt;br & gt; 'Best Alternative Music Album' & lt;br & gt; 'Best Recording Package' & lt;br & gt; 'Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical' (Danger Mouse) & lt;br & gt; 'Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals' (Tighten Up) - Track: Tighten Up & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;TAS Rated 4/5 Music, 4/5 Sonics in the December 2010 Issue of The Absolute Sound! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The maturation of the Black Keys as record makers and performers has been both subtle and startling. With their 2008 Nonesuch release Attack & amp; Release - the fifth album of their eight-year career - guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney illustrated the durability of their few-frills sound, a mysterious and heavy brew of seventies-vintage rock, classic R & amp;B and timeless, downhearted blues. Producer and pal Danger Mouse, their first outside collaborator, didn't try to reinvent their sound but further isolated its essence with the help of a few carefully chosen guest players and some retro-modern electronic gear. It didn't need to get slicker to get better, or, as the Boston Globe put it, & quot;Attack & amp; Release proves that cleaning up the boys still won't stop them from tracking mud all over the house. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Danger Mouse returned to co-produce & quot;Tighten Up & quot; on Brothers, but for the most part, the duo was on its own, spending ten days at the legendary Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama and coming up with the an even more intensely focused, deeply soulful set that includes a cover of Jerry Butler's & quot;Never Gonna Give You Up. & quot; The performances are inventive and impassioned: Auerbach extends his vocal range to falsetto on lead-off track & quot;Everlasting Light & quot; and & quot;The Only One & quot;; & quot;Howlin' For You & quot; opens with a Gary Glitter-style drum riff and the chorus practically invites singing along. The tunes offer a surprising amount of lyrical candor and more than a little dark humor; the grooves alternate between ballsy swagger and bluesy rumination. The album reflects where Auerbach and Carney have been lately, most recently collaborating with a who's who of New York City MC's, including RZA, Q Tip, Mos Def and Raekwon on the 2009 BlakRoc super-session organized by hip-hop impresario and Black Keys fan Damon Dash. They've also pursued projects on their own, Auerbach with his solo Keep It Hid album and tour, Carney with his band Drummer and its debut disc, Feels Good Together. Their maturation didn't happen just in the studio, though. Carney admits, & quot;Dan and I grew up a lot as individuals and musicians prior to making this album. Our relationship was tested in many ways but at the end of the day, we're brothers, and I think these songs reflect that. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Brothers was primarily cut in Muscle Shoals, a setting that turned out to have more in common with the Akron, Ohio factories where the Black Keys used to record. The place was desolate, the town depressed, so once again the duo slipped into a world all its own. They did additional recording at Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound System in Akron and The Bunker in Brooklyn. The album was mixed by engineer Tchad Blake, a veteran of sessions with Los Lobos, Pearl Jam and Peter Gabriel. Says Carney, & quot;The way he approaches mixing is the same way we approach making music. Respecting the past while being in the present... & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;I listened to the record on vinyl, and I love its vibrant sound; even with reverb piled on it still has plenty of punch. And the songwriting is so solid that several songs on the first three sides of the LP could have been released as singles. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Jeff Wilson, The Absolute Sound, December 2010, Issue 208, pg 160, 4/5 Music, 4/5 Sonics & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Double LP & amp; Bonus CD & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Furnace/Pallas & lt;br & gt; SIngle pocket Stoughton jacket with expanded spine & lt;br & gt; Poster insert & lt;br & gt; Bonus CD in babypak & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Pat describes it like this: & lt;b & gt; & quot;I wanted to record some of the music that was on my radar before I ever wrote a note of my own, or in a few cases, even before I played an instrument. Every one of these tunes has something going on that is just hip on a musical level, no matter how you cut it. They have all stuck with me over the years. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;This time out, it's something so intimate and stunningly beautiful it would appear the boy from Lee's Summit, Missouri, has been touched by angels. A sublime revue of relaxed guitar interpretations of familiar and fetching pop melodies from the 60s, What's It All About has Metheny performing on a warm-sounding baritone guitar that allows him to cover his own bass lines, lending a rich, orhcestral texture to the proceedings & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Bill Milkowski, The Absolute Sound, October 2011, Issue 216, Pg. 132 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...he makes Zen-like use of space with his amazing 42-string Pikasso guitar on a stirring interpretation of & quot;The Sound Of Silence. & quot; with strategically placed microphones in a resonant space, and just a hint of reverb, this is also one of the most gorgeous recordings of the year. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Bill Milkowski, The Absolute Sound, October 2011, Issue 216, Pg. 132 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; After nearly 40 recordings under his name, this marks the first time there is not a single Metheny composition represented. Rather, Whats It All About comprises 10 classic songs, some very well known, that hold personal meanings for the guitarist. This 180g Double LP edition includes two additional tracks. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny is featured in the Guardian's series 50 Great Moments in Jazz History, which examines Metheny's many contributions to his craft through his virtuosic playing, genre-defying collaborations, high-tech experimentation, and more. & lt;b & gt; & quot;Metheny is that rare jazz musician who combines a pop-composer's instinct for an anthemic melody with a virtuoso ability to play extended spontaneous solos without repeating himself, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says the Guardian. & lt;b & gt; & quot;More than any other jazz guitarist of the post-bop era, Pat Metheny has given the instrument as natural and prominent a place in jazz as a trumpet or a saxophone. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded February 2011 in New York, NY. Recorded by Pat Metheny, Pete Karam, and David Oakes. Mixed by Pete Karam. Mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, New York, NY. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;This is a straight solo baritone guitar record (except instrument changes as noted); edits but no overdubs. And as in the previous solo baritone guitar record, & lt;i & gt;One Quiet Night & lt;/i & gt;, the basic tuning used throughout this recording is A D G C E A. The relative intervallic relationship of the strings is the same as a conventional guitar tuned down a fifth. However, as in a & quot;Nashville & quot; tuning, the 3rd and 4th strings are restrung and tuned an octave higher than usual. In the case of this tuning, the 5th and 6th strings are quite low in pitch. The longer scale of the baritone guitar accommodates this, but heavy bass guitar strings are still required. For this recording, I varied the tuning by keeping the same intervallic relationship but moving the entire tuning up and down on a tune-by-tune basis in a range from Ab to C. I first learned about this tuning many years ago from Dr. Ray Harris, a great guitarist and inventor from my hometown of Lee's Summit, Missouri. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Pat Metheny & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;No overdubs, no other instruments, just one of the world's pre-eminent guitarists taking a long, lone journey through dusk, twilight and into the long hours. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - The Independent, London & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180-Gram Audiophile Quality Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Plated and Pressed at Pallas, Diepholz, Germany & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny, Solo Baritone Guitar (Except *42-String Guitar, **6-String Guitar, ***Nylon-String Guitar) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; 1. Linkin Park A Thousand Suns 2LP (Vinyl)
Linkin Park, formed in 1996, rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and have won two Grammy Awards. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The fourth studio album by Linkin Park, A Thousand Suns, features 15 tracks written by the band and co-produced by Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin. The concept album deals with themes of war including nuclear warfare. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A Thousand Suns grapples with the personal cycle of pride, destruction, and regret. In life, like in dreams, this sequence is not always linear. And, sometimes, true remorse penetrates the devastating cycle. The hope, of course, springs from the notion that the possibility of change is born in our most harrowing moments. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Record Industry & lt;br & gt; Direct to Board Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The 180g Vinyl Triple LP contains music on five sides with the sixth side featuring etched artwork. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Crazy Horse guitarist Frank & quot;Poncho & quot; Sampedro told Rolling Stone & lt;b & gt; & quot;It's us jamming and having lots of fun... I think that [former Crazy Horse producer] David Briggs would be proud of it... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...Right around the time of Americana was finished, I started writing again, so I just kept on going. Pretty soon I had enough songs for a second album. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Neil Young as told to Uncut magazine & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;..The pill, really, is a metaphor for flashbacks. Driftin Back, in particular, is concerned with what may be the substance of Youngs forthcoming Waging Heavy Peace, and the writing of that autobiography. It begins with a brilliant trick which I wont spoil just yet and soon locks into a languorous and beautiful series of solos, erratically punctuated by random Young pensées on the subjects of MP3s, hip-hop haircuts, Picasso wallpaper and so on. Its not related to the Horse Back jam, but it has that same deep-pile pleasure. If you believe, not unreasonably, that Young simply playing the shit out of an electric guitar is about as good as music gets, I think youll like it... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - John Mulvey, Uncut.co.UK/blog & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;This sublimely recorded AAA production produced the opposite effect. I sat through all five sides in one sitting, volume cranked to almost stupid levels and there before me was Neil, his voice so transparent, so believably there. Behind him was Ralph Molina, each beat played with meaning, and just in front of him was bassist Billy Talbot hitting depth charged notes, each of which had clearly defined string transients and textural and harmonic details, making each note an event. To either side were Neil's and Frank Sampedro's gloriously gnarly three-dimensionally placed guitars. Connecting all of the parts was a sensuous wash of three-dimensional reverberant energy. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Michael Fremer, www.analogplanet.com, 9/10 Music, 11/10 Sound! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; 3LP & lt;br & gt; Cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Studio & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas & lt;br & gt; Triple-pocket M-pak jacket at Dorado & lt;br & gt; Sixth side contains etched art - no music & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;br & gt; Side A & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Quentin Tarantino Inglourious Basterds Soundtrack LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;Motion Picture Soundtrack for Grammy-Nominated Film by Quentin Tarantino! & lt;br & gt; Includes Tracks from Ennio Morricone, David Bowie, Billy Preston, Lalo Schifrin & amp; More! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Long believed to be a remake of the 1977 Italian war movie Quel Maledetto Treno Blindato aka Inglorious Bastards by Enzo Castellari, the project turned out to be 100% Tarantino cinephilia. An exciting story set during WW2, but it is not a movie & quot;about WW2 & quot; (Brad Pitt). It is partly a homage to the 1977 film (eg. the title similarity) and various other American and Italian & quot;men on a mission & quot; World War II movies like The Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, The Dirty Dozen and Five For Hell. It is also heavily influenced by French New Wave cinema, Spaghetti Westerns and pre-war German cinema. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as & quot;The Basterds, & quot; Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;About The Music: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Since 1960, Ennio Morricone has scored over 400 films working with many Italian and international directors (among whom Sergio Leone, Gillo Pontecorvo, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bernardo Bertolucci, and Roland Joffè). His most famous films include: The Battle Of Algiers; Sacco and Vanzetti; Cinema Paradiso; The Legend Of 1900, Malena; The Untouchables, Once Upon A Time In America; The Mission and U-Turn. His absolute music production includes over 100 pieces composed since 1946 to this day. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In the recording field, Morricone has received 27 Golden Records, 7 Platinum Records, 3 Golden Plates and the Critica discografica award for the music of the film Il Prato. The soundtrack from the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly has been included in the list of inductees for the Grammy Hall of Fame 2009. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...[E]very cut here is interesting, sometimes wonderful -- the Morricone is vivid, as are the obscure soundtrack selections from Charles Bernstein and the Film Studio Orchestra -- and once you've dialed into QT's wavelength, this soundtrack does provide plenty of pleasure. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Ennio Morricone & lt;br & gt; David Bowie & lt;br & gt; Billy Preston & lt;br & gt; Charles Bernstein & lt;br & gt; Nick Perito & lt;br & gt; Zarah Leander & lt;br & gt; Samantha Shelton & lt;br & gt; Michael Andrew & lt;br & gt; Lilian Harvey & lt;br & gt; Willy Fritsch & lt;br & gt; Jacques Loussier & lt;br & gt; Lalo Schifrin & lt;br & gt; The Film Studio Orchestra & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Paramore Paramore 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Includes & quot;Now & quot; + & quot;Still Into You & quot;! A Punk-Rock Set Focusing on the Best and Worst Parts of Love! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;2015 Grammy Award Winner for Best Rock Song - & quot;Aint It Fun & quot;! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Beck and Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen produced Paramore's self-titled fourth album released on the Fueled By Ramen label! Paramore is the first album without founding members Josh and Zac Farro. The first single from the album is & quot;Now & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Album Announcement - December 6, 2012: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;The time has come Paramore fans, friends, and family... And for that matter, the time has come for the rest of you as well. We are ready to spill the beans about what we've been doing over the last *coughYEARcough*. With the most pride and passion we could ever possibly express, we would like to announce that this album, our fourth freaking album... Will be self-titled, 'Paramore'. It has been self-titled through nearly the entire process. In fact, what usually takes us weeks on end to sum up and put a label on only took us a five minute conversation this time around. The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends. It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;The first single off the album is called & quot;Now & quot;. Not really sure what else to say except for we love this song. It just feels like the perfect way to start this new journey we are embarking on not only as a band but as a movement. To show people that you can lose battles but come back and win full on wars. You can rise from ashes. You can make something out of even less than nothing. The only thing you have to do is keep moving forward! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Thanks to our fans for believing in the three of us before we ever even did. And to our producer, JMJ, for seeing a brand new band in us. We are prouder than ever and more excited now than ever to be Paramore. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;As usual, it's a punk-rock set focusing on the best and worst parts of love, the angst that comes along with the uncertainty of the future, and being totally against whoever suggests they conform to, well, anything... [T]heir chops on both guitars and drums have been upped several notches. So has their ability to blend genres: songs swirl with hints of R & amp;B, country, and hard rock on their latest effort, but it's still as accessible as any of their other albums. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Brad Wete, Billboard & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Hayley Williams, lead vocals & lt;br & gt; Jeremy Davis, bass guitar & lt;br & gt; Taylor York, lead guitar, drums & lt;br & gt; Ilan Rubin, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Dan Auerbach Keep It Hid LP & CD (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;Cut Direct-to-Copper at Abbey Road - Plated and Pressed at Pallas! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;Featured in Michael Fremer's Heavy Rotation in the May 2009 Issue of Stereophile! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On his solo debut, Black Keys singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach takes a simple approach: & lt;b & gt; & quot;I just wanted to do the things I loved. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; For Auerbach, that means combining elements of bluegrass a la the Stanley Brothers, mournful country balladry, Memphis-style R & amp;B, fuzzed-out psychedelic rock and low-down blues on this collection of 14 original tunes, which Auerbach self-produced and recorded with friends an family at his newly built studio, Akron Analog. & lt;b & gt; & quot;It's all just soul music, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; he says, and Keep It Hid is soulful indeed. As a songwriter, Auerbach likes to prowl the dark end of the street: his gritty, impassioned vocals lend dramatic heft to these tales of romantic betrayal and suspicious minds. For this Akron, Ohio native, his state has always been blue. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Auerbach, like a more roots-oriented version of Tom Waits, mixes black humor with genuine poignancy in his lyrics and concocts some artfully oddball arrangements. He likes to crank it up on tracks like & quot;I Want Some More & quot; and the Bo Diddley beat-driven & quot;Street Walkin' & quot;. But he isn't afraid to keep things gentler, more intimate on songs like the aching, acoustic-blues opener, & quot;Trouble Weighs a Ton & quot;, and the unabashedly sweet & quot;When the Night Comes & quot;, a duet with protégé Jessica Lea Mayfield, possessed of a voice as full of character as Auerbach's own. & quot;My Last Mistake & quot;, despite its morose words, has the happy pop swing of a classic Sir Douglas Quintet track, with just the rollicking organ missing. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Black Keys are revered for their & quot;two-man stomp & quot;, as Auerbach calls it. On his solo disc, though, Auerbach goes in a more expansive direction working with a full band and tackling a wide variety of instruments himself. With engineer Mark Neill, he employed analog gear to record and mix. In fact, Whispered Words, & quot; which Auerbach co-wrote with his dad, was cut in mono. Vintage effects, however, are a means, not an end, to helping Auerbach get down on tape the remarkable sounds mixing it up in his head 24/7. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; Includes Bonus CD of complete album & lt;br & gt; Gatefold jacket with single disk CD in slipcase inserted in pocket & lt;br & gt; Cut Direct-to-Copper at Abbey Road & lt;br & gt; Plated and Pressed at Pallas in Diepolz, Germany & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Pat Metheny Unity Group Kin 2LP & CD (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;2LP Set with Bonus CD! Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Last year, for the first time since 1980, guitarist Pat Metheny recorded with a band that highlighted tenor saxophone. Unity Band, which went on to win Metheny his 20th Grammy Award, featured Christ Potter on sax and bass clarinet, longtime collaborator Antonio Sanchez on drums, and Ben Williams on bass. Now, Metheny has added another musician, multi-instrumentalist Giulio Carmassi, and christened the ensemble Pat Metheny Unity Group. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Metheny says of this new group, & lt;b & gt;The core quartet of Chris, Ben, Antonio, and me played more than 100 concerts over the year that followed the release of our Unity Band record. Over the course of that period, the band became one of those rare combinations of players where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts; it gelled in every way, and that just seemed to beg for expansion and further research. & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; He continues, & lt;b & gt; & quot;Simultaneously, I had been itching to write using more of a lush and orchestrated kind of concept that went beyond the sonic limits of what a straight-ahead quartet might invoke. But I really didnt want to lose the energy, focus, and intensity of what this band had developed. I wanted to take it further. If the first Unity Band record was a thoughtful, black and white documentary of four musicians in a recording studio playing, this record is more like the Technicolor, IMAX version of what a band like this could bebut with that hardcore thing still sitting right in the middle of it all. & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Over the course of more than three decades, guitarist Pat Metheny has set himself apart from the jazz mainstream, expanding and blurring boundaries and musical styles. His record-setting body of work includes 20 Grammy Awards in 12 separate categories; a series of influential trio recordings; award-winning solo albums; scores for hit Hollywood motion pictures; and collaborations and duets with major artists such as Ornette Coleman, Steve Reich, Charlie Haden, Brad Mehldau, and many others. His band the Pat Metheny Group, founded in 1977, is the only ensemble in history to win Grammys for seven consecutive releases. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 2LP Set & lt;br & gt; Includes Bonus CD of the album & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny, electric and acoustic guitars, guitar synth, electronics, orchestrionics, synths & lt;br & gt; Chris Potter, tenor sax, bass clarinet, soprano sax, clarinet, alto flute, bass flute & lt;br & gt; Antonio Sanchez, drums, cajon & lt;br & gt; Ben Williams, acoustic and electric basses & lt;br & gt; Guilio Carmassi, piano, trumpet, trombone, french horn, cello, vibes, clarinet, flute, alto sax, wurlitzer, vocals & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 - Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. It is their first album since Meteora not to be produced with Rick Rubin. The title of the album is a metaphor for the group searching to bring back the energy and soul of rock. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album finds a departure from their recent electronic rock sound from the last two albums. It is simply & quot;a rock record & quot; as described by Shinoda and serves as a statement by the band against contemporary mainstream bands accused by him as & quot;trying to be other bands and playing it safe & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and hip-hop artist Rakim are among the few guest artists to appear on the album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Hunting Party has produced five singles including & quot;Guilty All the Same & quot;, Until It's Gone & quot;, & quot;Wastelands & quot;, & quot;Rebellion & quot;, and & quot;Final Masquerade & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;More than a decade ago, Linkin Park sold a couple zillion records by making better-than-Bizkit rap metal and collaborating with Jay Z. They've since wandered the emo wilderness, and singer Chester Bennington is now also fronting Stone Temple Pilots. But on Album Six they're back with a retro-neo-aggro sound that would've been too intense for modern-rock radio in 1999. Tom Morello guests on guitar; the mook-punk yowler & quot;Guilty All the Same & quot; features oldschool rap god Rakim. Even pushing 40, these dudes can still bring it like backward-ball-cap warriors hopped up on Mountain Dew and Dad's fourth divorce. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - rollingstone.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;There's a war going down on the new Linkin Park album, the band's first since 2003 not produced by Rick Rubin. Without the guidance of their bearded generalissimo, these Cali rap-rock commandos go rogue, flinging missiles in all directions. They attack record companies, politicians, rule makers, exes, and anyone else in sight, all the while rediscovering the savage fun of super-loud guitars. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;The band has described & quot;The Hunting Party & quot; as a prequel to & quot;Hybrid Theory, & quot; their mega-selling 2000 debut, and while the members work in plenty of the pretty synths and electro bits they've explored over the last decade, they spend much of this record pummeling away like back in the day. The aggressive sound fits with the defensive lyrics, and the group arrives reinvigorated, ready for a fight. Mike Shinoda apparently ditched early demos that would have sent Linkin Park further into electronic territory, and given the ferocity of this music, his band mates seem thrilled by that decision. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - billboard.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;//www.youtube.com/embed/cEaEdLQbAFM?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Etched D-side & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Pressed at RTI! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Classic Dream Theater Album on Vinyl For the First Time! Over 75 Minutes of Music on 2 LPs! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Octavarium is the eighth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater. Originally released on June 7, 2005, it was the band's final release with Atlantic Records. Recorded between September 2004 and February 2005, the album holds the distinction of being the last album ever recorded at The Hit Factory in New York City. With Octavarium, the band decided to create & lt;b & gt; & quot;a classic Dream Theater album & quot; & lt;/b & gt;, drawing upon their various stylistic influences while trying to make the music less complex. It was the first Dream Theater album to feature an orchestra. The album's structure was based around the concept of the musical octave. Fitting title and concept since the octave covers a span of 8 notes and this was the group's 8th album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Progressive metal band Dream Theater formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remained together along with James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess until September 8, 2010, when Mike Portnoy left the band. In October 2010, the band held auditions for a new drummer, and added Mike Mangini to its roster. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Dream Theaters tenth studio album, Black Clouds & amp; Silver Linings (Roadrunner Records), was released on June 23, 2009. It entered the U.S. Billboard 200 at #6 and Eurochart Hot 100 at #1, marking their highest entry on either chart. Black Clouds & amp; Silver Linings - a highlight of their 25-year career - was praised by Mojo magazines Paul Elliott: & lt;b & gt;
their lofty ideals remain intact. By modern criteria, Black Clouds & amp; Silver Linings is as highbrow as The Mars Volta, as grandiose as Muse and as heavy as Metallica. & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Pressed at RTI & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side 1: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;1. The Black Keys Magic Potion LP (Vinyl)
Magic Potion, the Black Keys' fourth album, is a spectacularly stripped-down set of sneakily melodic blues-besotted rock concocted in the Akron, Ohio basement studio of drummer Patrick Carney. Guitarist-singer Dan Auedback is possessed of a compelling, hurt-beyond-his-years voice and an approach to lead guitar that is both wildly expressive and utterly succinct. The self-taught Carney, who anchors these tracks, may force writers to return & quot;heavy & quot; to the rock-critic lexicon as a seriously praiseworthy term. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Black Keys maintain a punk terseness to their adamantly do-it-yourself sound; they're as single-minded in their idiosyncratic evocation of the electric Mississippi blues as artists like the late Junior Kimbrough and R. L. Burnside as the Ramones were about early sixties rock and roll. However, there is nothing high-concept or ironically distanced about their style; it's all sweat, sincerity and as much swagger as Carney's basement allows. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Just Got To Be & lt;br & gt; 2. Your Touch & lt;br & gt; 3. You're The One & lt;br & gt; 4. Just A Little Heat & lt;br & gt; 5. Give Your Heart Away & lt;br & gt; 6. Strange Desire & lt;br & gt; 7. Led Zeppelin Coda Deluxe Edition 180g 3LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Deluxe Edition Features Original LP Album on 180g Vinyl PLUS Two Companion LPs on 180g Vinyl! & lt;br & gt; Newly Remastered by Jimmy Page from the Original Master Tapes! Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The appropriately titled Coda was Led Zeppelin's final album of studio recordings. Released in 1982, it was comprised of eight unreleased tracks recorded between 1970 and 1978. It peaked at #6 on the album charts and has been certified platinum in the U.S. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The reissue campaign ends with a double-barrel blast of Led. Coda will be the only Led Zeppelin deluxe edition to include two companion discs, featuring 15 tracks recorded between 1968 and 1974. The oldest song in the collection is also perhaps the most interesting. The frenetic blues jam & quot;Sugar Mama & quot; was recorded in 1968 at Olympic Studios during sessions for the band's eponymous debut. The song was completed but never officially released until now. & quot;Baby Come On Home & quot; from the same session is also included in the set. Also included is the previously unreleased & quot;St. Tristan's Sword, & quot; a rollicking instrumental recorded during the Led Zeppelin III sessions in 1970. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 1972, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page took a fabled trip to India to perform with the Bombay Orchestra and now, for the first time, recordings from these sessions will be officially released with dynamic takes on & quot;Friends & quot; and & quot;Four Hands & quot; ( & quot;Four Sticks & quot; from Led Zeppelin IV). Among the many other highlights featured here is an early version of & quot;When The Levee Breaks & quot; from 1970 titled & quot;If It Keeps On Raining & quot;; rough mixes of & quot;The Wanton Song & quot; and & quot;In The Light, & quot; from the Physical Graffiti sessions at Headley Grange, the latter a different alternate version than the one included in the Physical Graffiti deluxe edition; and an instrumental mix of & quot;Poor Tom & quot; from 1970. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A collection assembled after John Bonham's death, Coda includes the ringing folk stomp of & quot;Poor Tom, & quot; the jacked-up '50s rock & amp; roll of & quot;Ozone Baby, & quot; and their response to punk rock, the savage & quot;Wearing and Tearing. & quot; There is some stellar playing, especially on the early blues-rock blitzkrieg & quot;I Can't Quit You Baby & quot; and & quot;We're Gonna Groove. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Original remastered LP, plus 2 LPs of companion audio on 180 gram vinyl in a tri-fold sleeve with three pockets. Includes two 12 & quot; x 12 & quot; LP inserts. Original album is remastered on first LP; second and third LPs include previously-unreleased companion audio with 15 tracks recorded between 1968 and 1974. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Deluxe Edition features original LP album on 180g vinyl PLUS Two Companion LPs on 180g vinyl & lt;br & gt; Newly remastered by Jimmy Page from the Original Master Tapes & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; Packaged in a Tri-fold Sleeve with three pockets & lt;br & gt; Includes two 12 & quot; x 12 & quot; LP inserts & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1: Original Album & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Rock Is Back. After 22 million records sold in the US and a three year hiatus, Kid Rock is back with the brand new album 'Rock N Roll Jesus'. Kid Rock hustled in the Detroit underground for over ten years before he burst into the mainstream in 1999 with the timeless rock anthem & quot;Bawitdaba. & quot; Other hits like & quot;Cowboy & quot; and & quot;American Bad A** & quot; followed while ballads like his & quot;Picture & quot; duet with Sheryl Crow and & quot;Only God Knows Why & quot; helped to propel him forward as one of the greatest artists of our time. His latest offering Rock N Roll Jesus is no exception, running the gamut from hard rock to hip-hop to country and soul. Of the album, which Rock co-produced with Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, My Chemical Romance), he says: & quot;I am proud of every single song on this record. It works from start to finish. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 2LP & amp; Bonus CD & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Green Day Dookie 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 193/500! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; If anything worthwhile rose out of the ashes of Woodstock's 1994 rehash, it was the explosion of this trio. Billie Jo, Mike and Tre carry on as America's Olympic champion punk provocateurs, undaunted in the new millennium. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The third studio album for Green Day, originally released in 1994, became a worldwide commercial success reaching number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 and charting in seven countries. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Thanks to the initial single, & quot;Longview & quot;, Dookie became a major hit. The album continued to gain momentum throughout the summer, with the second single, & quot;Basket Case & quot;, spending five weeks on the top of the American modern rock charts. At the end of the summer, the band stole the show at Woodstock '94, which boosted the sales of Dookie. By the time the fourth single, & quot;When I Come Around & quot;, began its seven week stay at number one on the modern-rock charts in early 1995, Dookie had sold over five million copies in the U.S. alone; it would eventually top eight million in America, selling over ten million copies internationally (the coveted Diamond Award). Dookie also won the 1994 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The album that jump-started the Nineties punk-pop revival. The California trio Green Day sold plenty of tickets and indie records on their own, but nothing they did before or since had the impact of their major-label debut. The skittish Dookie was recorded in little more than three weeks, and singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong blazed through all the vocals in two days. & quot;Right from getting the drum sound, everything seemed to click, & quot; their A & amp;R man Rob Cavallo marveled. Nowhere did it click better than on the infectious smash & quot;Longview & quot; (which Armstrong described as & quot;cheap self-therapy from watching too much TV & quot;). & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - www.rollingstone.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas & lt;br & gt; Mastered at Bernie Grundman Studios & lt;br & gt; Single-pocket Stoughton Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Brian Eno & David Byrne My Life In the Bush of Ghosts 2LP (Vinyl)
With its found vocals, cut-and-paste arrangements, funked-up rhythms and embrace of influences from all around the globe, the duos controversial work anticipated the creative cross-pollination and technological innovation of contemporary electronic dance music, world music, hip hop and alternative rock. You can hear echoes of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts in the anthems Moby built around vintage vocal samples, in the outrageously exotic beats of Missy Elliot and Timbaland, in the Middle Eastern-accented chill-out tracks of Thievery Corporation or Bjorks otherworldly soundscapes. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Upon initial release critics were divided and audiences were, well, confused. Eno and Byrne themselves didnt know quite what they were looking for at first. They shared an enthusiasm for African music, especially the hypnotic grooves of Nigerian Fela Kuti, and a desire to free themselves from the constraints of conventional songwriting. They embarked on a nomadic journey through studios in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The players who accompanied them on these sessions included drummers Chris Frantz (Talking Heads) and Prairie Prince (The Tubes), bassist Bill Laswell (Material) and Tim Wright (DNA), avant-garde percussionist Dave Van Teighem and conga player Steve Scales, part of the Remain In Light live band. The result of their labors was an album that married West African and American R & amp;B rhythms with the impassioned voices of talk-show hosts and evangelists taped off the radio or the evocative sound of prayerful singers culled from Middle Eastern field recordings. Byrne recalls their entire & lt;br & gt; adventure in fascinating liner notes that detail the recording process and address the resulting critical furor. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was cut between Talking Heads Fear of Music (1979) and Remain In Light (1980), but sample clearance issues, an almost unheard-of-problem in the analog era, kept it on hold until 1981. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This updated, 180 gram, double LP edition is fully remastered, includes seven unreleased tracks from the original recording session and six multi track selections. The bonus material includes tracks that had been considered for but never made it to the original LP and a smart, informative historical /critical essay by author-musicologist-recording artist David Toop. Built to Spill There is no Enemy 2LP + CD (Vinyl)
Built to Spill is one of modern rock's most endearing and enduring iconic rock groups. When making the album There Is No Enemy, Doug literally lived in the studio working all day and night. He spent hours and hours laying down guitar tracks he realized he couldn't use since the first live takes had the best tone and feel. He had to undigitally remix the record. It has the sound and feel of the album that every Built To Spill fan has been anxiously awaiting. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For over 20 years, Doug Martsch has been writing and recording music. Built To Spill members Brett Nelson (bass), Scott Plouf (drums), Jim Roth (guitar), and Brett Netson (guitar), have all been musicians for two decades. That adds up to more than a century. Doug's strong aesthetic combines with the band member's mix of approaches to create an aural & lt;br & gt; topography. Doug sets course and navigates. Each member of Built To Spill comes to the music with a different set of expectations and ideals. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Guest artists include Sam Coomes, ex-Treepeople co-guitarist/vocalist Scott Schmaljohn, Paul Leary, Roger Manning, etc. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Includes bonus CD & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. It was one of the most anticipated and controversial albums of the year in 2004 when it was originally released. Scathing yet self-effacing as it tells the tale of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, American Idiot is a punk rock epic. Armstrong summed up the album: & quot;Rock n' Roll can be dangerous and fun at the same time. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A bold, polished punk opera. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Entertainment Weekly & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;They're the biggest, most successful, punk band the world has ever seen. What's more, Green Day's next album may well be their masterpiece. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Kerrang! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Green Day took home a Grammy for Best Rock Album at the 2005 Grammy Awards for American Idiot. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;No song captured the rancid zeitgeist of the Bush era like this Clash-style rave-up, which bashed the USA's 'redneck agenda.' The starting point for Green Day's punk opera, later a Broadway musical, 'Idiot' signaled the band's evolution into righteously angry political rockers. 'We did everything we could to piss people off,' said Billie Joe Armstrong, who often performed the song in a George W. Bush mask. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Double 180g LP & lt;br & gt; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; Parental advisory explicit content & lt;br & gt; Includes poster & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Red Hot Chili Peppers One Hot Minute LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Black Vinyl LP! & lt;br & gt;Features & quot;Warped & quot;, & quot;My Friends & quot; and & quot;Aeroplane & quot;. & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; One Hot Minute follows up the band's 1991 masterpiece Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro takes the place of the recently departed John Frusciante and is the only album in which Navarro played with the Peppers. One of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including & quot;Best Rock Album & quot; for Stadium Arcadium, & quot;Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group & quot; for & quot;Dani California, & quot;Best Rock Song & quot; for & quot;Scar Tissue, & quot; and & quot;Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal & quot; for & quot;Give It Away. & quot; The band holds the record for the most No. 1 singles of all time at Alternative radio, a total of 11, and a combined 81 weeks at No. 1. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;At the time of its release, One Hot Minute was viewed as the beginning of a new direction for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Guitarist John Frusciante had departed and former Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro joined the ranks after some false starts with short-lived replacements. Band chemistry here isn't quite up to past standards. Navarro stretches out throughout the album, imbuing tunes with a heavy dose of hard rock and psychedelia and providing a stark contrast from Frusciante's dexterous noodling. Tracks such as & quot;Warped & quot; and & quot;Aeroplane & quot; display a band prone to exploring a less frenetic hard rock, while & quot;Shallow Be Thy Game & quot; sounds like the old band. Frusciante eventually returned to the fold, so this 1995 collection now stands as a curious intermission for the Peppers. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Amazon.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album produced three hit singles, Warped, My Friends, and Aeroplane, while the album itself reached # 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Black Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Anthony Kiedis, lead vocals & lt;br & gt; Flea, bass, vocals & lt;br & gt; Dave Navarro, guitars, backing vocals & lt;br & gt; Chad Smith, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Dead Weather Horehound 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
The Dead Weather are a rock outfit consisting of Dean Fertita, Jack Lawrence, Alison Mosshart and Jack White. The impetus for the band came when Mossharts band The Kills opened on a few US tour dates for The Raconteurs. Recognizing immediately the musical synergy between Mosshart, White and Lawrence, the trio devised a plot to record together during some down time in Whites own Third Man Recording Studio in Nashville where White enlisted the addition of erstwhile Raconteurs touring accomplice and Queens Of The Stone Age collaborator Dean Fertita. What was initially imagined as a one-off collaboration for a 7 single release turned into a full blown album project once the quartet switched on the recording tape. The Dead Weathers menacing sounds were so electrifying that they couldnt help but keep the tape rolling. In three weeks they had recorded a full length album, Horehound produced by Jack White. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;br & gt; Alison Mosshart, vocals & lt;br & gt; Dean Fertita, guitar & lt;br & gt; Jack Lawrence, bass & lt;br & gt; Jack White, drums, vocals & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; Recorded & amp; mixed at Third Man Studio & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. 60 Feet Tall & lt;br & gt; 2. Includes Limited Time Free Download of Entire Album! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Rush's Clockwork Angels is the renowned trios first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The recording of Clockwork Angels began in April 2010 with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007s Snakes & amp; Arrows. Rush co-produced both records. The first two songs, Caravan and BU2B, were completed during that first session at Nashvilles Blackbird studios and performed nightly during the wildly successful Time Machine Tour, which ran from June 2010 to June 2011. Work on Clockwork Angels resumed in the fall of 2011 at Revolution Recording in Toronto after the tours finale, with additional strings (arranged by David Campbell) recorded at Hollywoods Ocean Way Studios in early 2012. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Lyrically, Clockwork Angels chronicles a young mans quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of Clockwork Angels is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Rush - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recently, a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature praised the band for its continuing artistic vitality, noting that & quot;It's true that Rush doesn't mean today what it did in '76 or even '96. It may mean more. & quot; Rush's enduring pop culture relevance is perhaps best evidenced by a pair of high profile appearances - a rare national television performance and interview on Comedy Central's & quot;The Colbert Report & quot; in 2008 (the band's first TV appearance since 1975), and a pivotal role in the storyline of the 2009 hit comedy, I Love You, Man, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal, where the band also made a memorable cameo in the film. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Beginning with their self-titled debut album in 1974, their extraordinary body of work - which includes such formidable works as 1976's 2112, 1981's Moving Pictures, 1996's Test for Echo, 2002's Vapor Trails and the latest studio album & quot;Snakes & amp; Arrows, & quot; made a triumphant debut on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release in 2007, entering the chart in the #3 spot. The album's success marked Rush's highest chart debut since 1993, as well as the group's eleventh top ten album in the U.S. Rush has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the RIAA, Rush's sales statistics place RUSH third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; Includes Limited Time Free Download of Entire Album & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Ministry KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;First Time Available on Vinyl in the U.S! 180g Vinyl! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The common title for the fifth studio album by industrial metal band Ministry, released in 1992 on Sire Records. The actual title of the album refers to a Greek word meaning & quot;head, & quot; and the number 69 in Greek numerals, though Psalm 69 is used for simplicity's sake. The album led Ministry into a more mainstream audience, with the track & quot;Jesus Built My Hotrod & quot; receiving major airplay on MTV and various other music stations. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Ministry is an American industrial metal band founded by frontman Al Jourgensen in 1981. Originally a synthpop outfit, Ministry changed its style to industrial metal in the late 1980s. Ministry found mainstream success in the early 1990s with its most successful album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs (1992) and touring as part of the Lollapalooza festival. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Like Metallica in overdrive...Wonderfully obnoxious, and therefore nearly perfect. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Dave DiMartino, Entertainment Weekly & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;These perverts claim they're not industrial, which is true only in the sense that Led Zeppelin wasn't metal: they may be too good for the category, but that doesn't mean they're not of it. And like Led Zep, they're cold bastards who are worth your time even if you think you don't like what they do, which is toning up your cardiovascular system by running you over with a tank. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Robert Christgau & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g vinyl & lt;br & gt; First time available on vinyl in the U.S. & lt;br & gt; All original replica packaging, including printed inner sleeve & lt;br & gt; LP cut by Chris Bellman & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The Mountain Goats Heretic Pride LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt;TAS Rated 4/5 Music, 4/5 Sonics in the March 2008 Issue of The Absolute Sound! & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Since signing to 4AD in 2001, the Mountain Goats have recorded four fine albums which have established them as a genuine cult phenomenon and confirmed John Darnielle's status as one of the finest lyricists of his - or any other - generation. And although the first of those albums - Tallahassee - was a song-cycle about an entirely fictional relationship, subsequent records saw Darnielle slowly but surely introducing autobiographical elements into his songs. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Long-time fans may well welcome the news that, for his new album, Darnielle has once more retreated into his imagination to conjure a suite of songs about mythical creatures, imaginary cults, slasher films and pulp fiction novelists. He's also come up with some of the most anthemic, impassioned and downright catchy songs of his career. & quot;Sax Rohmer & quot;, & quot;Autoclave & quot; and & quot;Lovecraft in Brooklyn & quot; join a long line of joyous Mountain Goats shouters and they will doubtless have audiences raising the roof at venues around the world in the coming months. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Heretic Pride was produced by Scott Solter and John Vanderslice, and they also contributed some additional percussion and some synth. The album was recorded by Solter along with Aaron Prellwitz at Prairie Sun and was also mixed by Solter. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians include old associates like Peter Hughes (bass) and Franklin Bruno (piano). Jon Wurster provides drums and the incredible Erik Friedlander plays cello. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats has earned a place among the greatest songwriters of his generation. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Harp & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;It's rare to come across such specific and purposeful prose in modern pop. But, alongside Bright Eyes' Conor Oberts and the Decemberists' Colin Meloy, John Darnielle is helping bring fine lyric writing back to life. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Daily News & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The Mountain Goats' John Darnielle has been one of the best songwriters of the '00s: He turns out mostly acoustic, remarkably consistent albums full of engaging, heart-rendering and often fully songs about things like failed marriages and speed freaks and liquor-store employees shooting burglars in the face. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;America's best non-hip-hop lyricist. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - The New Yorker & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;A cinematic songwriter, whose folk-rock tunes often center around common albeit uncomfortable situations and self-doubting characters, Darnielle has evolved from lo-fi ironist into one of today's most creative, concise lyricists... Sonically, Darnielle's nasally voice is front and center. Percussion, acoustic instruments, and piano are all exceptional on an uncluttered soundstage. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Bob Gendron, & lt;i & gt;The Absolute Sound & lt;/i & gt;, March 2008 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Free MP3 download of entire album & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. I was completely blown away by the Amazing Sound Quality! Highly Recommended! & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Bob Bantz, president Elusive Disc & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; With five number one singles, fourteen Top 40 hits, and four number one albums, the Eagles were among the most successful recording artists of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of those albums -- Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) and Hotel California -- ranked among the ten best-selling albums ever. Though most of its members came from outside California, the group was closely identified with a country and folk-tinged sound that initially found favor in Los Angeles during the late '60s, as championed by such bands as the Flying Burrito Brothers and Poco (both of which contributed members to the Eagles). But the band also drew upon traditional rock & amp; roll styles and, in their later work, helped define the broadly popular rock sound that became known as classic rock. As a result, the Eagles achieved a perennial appeal among generations of music fans who continued to buy their records many years after they had split up, which helped inspire the Eagles' reunion in the mid-'90s. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In September 1971, Frey, Henley, Leadon, and Meisner signed with manager David Geffen, agreeing to record for his soon-to-be-launched label, Asylum Records; soon after, they adopted the name the Eagles. In February 1972, they flew to England and spent two weeks recording their debut album, Eagles, with producer Glyn Johns. It was released in June, reaching the Top 20 and going gold in a little over a year and a half on the strength of two Top Ten hits -- & quot;Take It Easy & quot; and & quot;Witchy Woman & quot; -- and one Top 20 hit, & quot;Peaceful Easy Feeling. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Self-Titled & quot;Eagles & quot; Album includes the Original Fold-Out Gatefold Design. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Record Industry & lt;br & gt; Replicates the original album packaging & lt;br & gt; Sleeve reissued as band originally intended - with no glue flaps... cover folds out into a poster & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Devendra Banhart Mala LP & 7" Vinyl
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;LP + 7 & quot; Vinyl! & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Devendra Banhart releases his Nonesuch debut album, Mala. The singer/songwriter co-produced the record with his longtime bandmate, guitarist Noah Georgeson. Banhart's eighth studio album, Mala was recorded in his then-home in Los Angeles. (He now resides in New York City.) He and Georgeson played most of the instruments themselves, using borrowed equipment and a vintage Tascam recorder they'd found in a pawn shop. & lt;b & gt; & quot;A lot of early hip-hop had been made on [the Tascam], & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Banhart. & lt;b & gt; & quot;And knowing my songs are not hip-hop whatsoever, we thought it would be interesting to see how these kinds of songs would sound on equipment that was used to record our favorite rap. Let's see how this technology would work for us. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;It was a new approach for the pair. & lt;b & gt; & quot;In the past we were more like, let's use the oldest equipment we could find. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Banhart also notes how his voice has developed over the years: & quot;I don't really take care of my voice, but, just like with playing guitar, you get more familiar with it, and you get better at it. I've always said that Im very good at not knowing how to play the guitar but, really, it's just that I'm very comfortable with the utter uncertainty of my approach. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Banhart's previous release, 2009's What Will We Be, received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone calling it & quot;the best he's ever made. & quot; The Los Angeles Times said the record & quot;found him making comfortable, laid-back folk that didn't sound like a compromise - more like an artist growing into his own. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Banhart has created the cover art for most of his records, including Mala, and in 2010 his artwork and packaging for What Will We Be was nominated for a Grammy. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Rather than bray, he soothes. Rather than try on a bunch of eclectic genres, he maintains a slinky, low-key mood throughout. Rather than come on too strong, he subtly woos. Again, Banhart works with longtime drummer and producer Noah Georgeson, but finally the folk timbres have been embellished with some subtle electronics via synth washes and dusty drum machines... Lyrically, he still shades toward the surreal... primarily, love and its loss resonates through Mala... The best moment comes when Banhart sings about love as tenderly as he ever has on the penultimate & quot;Won't You Come Home. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Andy Beta, SPIN, 7 out of 10 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; LP + 7 & quot; Vinyl & lt;br & gt; 160 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Mixed by Noah Georgeson & amp; Devendra Banhart at the Maid's Room & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound & lt;br & gt; Two Bonus Tracks (on 7 & quot; vinyl) & lt;br & gt; Exclusive poster & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Devendra Banhart & lt;br & gt; Josiah Steinbrick & lt;br & gt; Bram Inscore & lt;br & gt; Greg Rogoue & lt;br & gt; Noah Georgeson & lt;br & gt; Todd Dahlhoff & lt;br & gt; Rodrigo Amarante & lt;br & gt; Ana Kras & lt;br & gt; Bernardo Risquez & lt;br & gt; Devendra Risquez & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Includes Bonus CD! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; There's You, the citizen, running in circles like a headless chicken. And there they are, there they all are, herding you faster and faster through the circle maze of lies and distraction. Who can you believe, who will throw out the life line? & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; You need simple tools, and that's what these songs are all about. Learn how John Lee Hooker will fix the supreme court if elected. Learn a stirring new war-without-end Christmas sing along. Study the report on the new-time Jim Crow Heaven Bill #1070. What does the outlaw Jesse James have in mind for Goldman Sachs? Why does God hate television? And there's more... & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Every song a revelation, a beacon of light in the endless tunnel of modern life, and it can be yours! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; As recently noted in the Nonesuch Journal, Ry Cooder premiered & quot;No Banker Left Behind & quot; on Truthdig Radio. On the program, Truthdig's Editor-in-Chief Robert Scheer said of the album: & lt;b & gt; & quot;It's right up there with John Lennon's Working Class Hero, which I think trumps just about anything else as far as taking serious, political observations and putting them to music ... It's just a great album. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On his fourth solo effort for Nonesuch/Perro Verde Records, the globe-trotting composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist leaves behind the fantastical yarn-spinning, the magical realism, and allegorical tunes of his acclaimed, Grammy Award-nominated California trilogy-Chavez Ravine (2005), My Name Is Buddy (2007), and I, Flathead (2008), all Grammy-nominated discs-for the most forthright album of his career. The 14 songs on Pull Up Some Dust and Sit Down are, by turns, angry, outraged, bitterly funny, and deeply poignant. With brilliant, Woody Guthrie-like directness and a healthy dollop of satire, Cooder's lyrics address the often-sorry state of our domestic affairs: the bank bailout, the anti-immigration movement, the ever-growing gap between rich and poor, and the never-ending war in the Middle East and its devastating physical and emotional toll on young soldiers. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; While his words are excoriating, the music is as exhilarating as anything Cooder has ever recorded, incorporating folk, blues, gospel, Tin Pan Alley, and Mexican-American norteno. As a critic for London's Guardian put it while reviewing My Name Is Buddy, & quot;Cooder demonstrates how he has brought home the lessons he learned producing the Buena Vista Social Club in Cuba, reminding himself that the most authentic music is always just around the corner. & quot; Contemporary affairs blend with rich musical history: The deceptively cheerful arrangement of & quot;No Banker Left Behind & quot; is informed by the legacy of country music pioneer and early 20th century vaudeville star Uncle Dave Macon; & quot;John Lee Hooker for President & quot; channels the electric guitar sound and growling vocal inflections of the blues legend. On tracks like & quot;John Lee Hooker... & quot; and the quietly mournful & quot;Baby Joined the Army, & quot; Cooder, who also produced the album, works alone in stripped-down voice-and-guitar settings. He's accompanied elsewhere by frequent collaborators such as drummer Joachim Cooder, accordionist Flaco Jimenez, and backing vocalist Juliette Commagere. Old friend Jim Keltner also makes a guest appearance on drums. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On Pull Up Some Dust and Sit Down, Cooder looks past the flow of facile news that distinguishes our disinformation age and humanizes the headlines. The Depression Era imagery he frequently employs is startlingly apt in these outspoken songs about up-to-the-minute issues. With its blunt protest numbers, its sly send-ups, and its plainspoken laments, Pull up Some Dust and Sit Down showcases the indefatigable Cooder at his most passionate and inspired. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Double 150g LP & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Bernie Grundman at Grundman Mastering & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas & lt;br & gt; Stoughton single-pocket jacket with insert & lt;br & gt; Bonus CD & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;br & gt; Ry Cooder, vocals, guitar, mandola, banjo, bass & lt;br & gt; Robert Francis, bass & lt;br & gt; Rene Camacho, bass & lt;br & gt; Joachim Cooder, drums & lt;br & gt; Jim Keltner, drums & lt;br & gt; Flaco Jimenez, accordian & lt;br & gt; Arturo Gallardo, clarinet, sax & lt;br & gt; Erasto Robles, trombone & lt;br & gt; Carlos Gonzales, trumpet & lt;br & gt; Pablo Molina, sousaphone, alto horn & lt;br & gt; Edgar Castro, percussion, timbale, snare, bass drum & lt;br & gt; Jesus Guzman, Raul Cuellar, Jimmy Cuellar, Ismael Hernandez, violins & lt;br & gt; Juliette Commagere, Terry Evans, Arnold McCuller, Willie Green, background vocals & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side A: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; 1. Eric Clapton Clapton 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Double LP Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Studios! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Co-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, Clapton features an all star cast of musical collaborations started with the legendary JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks, and keyboardist Walt Richmond-and the sessions later added guests including Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks. Clapton created a collection that touches on everything from century-old traditional brass bands to little-known country blues to brand-new originals. The result is both relaxed and revelatory, and unlike anything the guitarist has done in his legendary career. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;This album wasn't what it was intended to be at all, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Eric Clapton. & lt;b & gt; & quot;It's actually better than it was meant to be because, in a way, I just let it happen. It's an eclectic collection of songs that weren't really on the map-and I like it so much because if it's a surprise to the fans, that's only because it's a surprise to me, as well. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Clapton has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo performer and as a member of the bands Yardbirds and Cream. He is the only person ever to be inducted three times. In his 40-year-plus career, Eric Clapton has received a total of 18 Grammys. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Double LP & lt;br & gt; Stoughton gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Cale and three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, 16-time Grammy® winner Eric Clapton teamed up for the first time to create an original album together, The Road To Escondido. The resulting hybrid sound defies being labeled, but instead finds influence across the spectrum of blues, rock, country and folk. The songs are warm and rich, with deep flowing rhythms, yet use an economy of words to express much. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In a true collaboration, Cale (whose songs After Midnight and Cocaine Clapton had previously covered) and Clapton jointly produced and recorded the album, each playing and singing on the tracks. Cale wrote 11 of the songs, Clapton wrote Three Little Girls, John Mayer wrote Hard To Thrill and the duo cover the blues classic Sporting Life Blues. Among the numerous guest artists are Mayer, Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, and the late Billy Preston, who donated his classic keyboard talents throughout the album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album The Road To Escondido is the first-time collaboration from two guitar greats on one album, featuring & quot;Ride The River & quot; and & quot;Danger & quot;. Wilco Being There 180g 2LP & CD (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Cut from Original Masters and Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Wilco's second album, released October 1996, met with better reception than their debut. The self-produced album contains more introspective writing due in part to many life changes for Jeff Tweedy, including the birth of his first child. In an attempt to boost sales, Tweedy struck a deal with Reprise to sell the double LP at a single LP price in exchange for a decrease in royalties. This idea was ingenious and paid off in spades! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Don't miss out on your chance to get your hands on this high-performance 180g double vinyl re-issue of Wilco's highly-successful & quot;Being There & quot; which includes a bonus CD of the entire album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...Being There is the group's great leap forward, a masterful, wildly eclectic collection shot through with ambitions and ideas. Although a few songs remain rooted in their signature sound, here Jeff Tweedy and band are as fascinated by their music's possibilities as its origins, and they push the songs which make up this sprawling two-disc set down consistently surprising paths and byways. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Jason Ankeny, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; Double 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; Cut from original masters & lt;br & gt; Bonus CD of the entire album & lt;br & gt; Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Muse Absolution 2LP (Vinyl)
With Absolution, Muse continues to expand on their unique rock sound with complex guitars, transition-laden rock anthems with melodic harmonics described in All Music Guide as & quot;.. the emotional intensity and style of Radiohead, a rock thunder descended from Black Sabbath, and the baroque drama of Queen... & quot; Muse switched gears with new producer Rich Costey, creating a smoother more polished sound. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album had plenty of punch to satisfy their hard core fans, while the musicianship of Absolution garnered critical praise and a new legion of fans who couldn't get enough of the powerful anthemic rock and the mind-blowing live shows that set Muse apart from the pack. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Following seven years of near solid touring, Muse escalated from being the biggest band in Teignmouth in 1997 to one of the biggest bands in Europe by 2004. With each successive album, they pushed the musical envelope with a fusion of progressive rock, electronica, and Radiohead-influenced experimentation, creating an emotive, passionate sound. Muse's reputation as one of the best live rock bands in the world is well deserved with their exhilarating live performances drawing critical acclaim and a loyal and rabid fan base. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;4 out of 5 stars & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Q Magazine & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Great car and iPod stuff, but on double vinyl it works well at home too! & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Michael Fremer, www.musicangle.com, Music 8/10, Sound 8/10 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; 150g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Double LP & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The band wrote and recorded nearly all of Led Zeppelin II while touring relentlessly to support its debut album. Incredibly, the album was released just seven months after Led Zeppelin in October of 1969. Led Zeppelin II features some of the band's most beloved tracks including & quot;Ramble On & quot; and & quot;Heartbreaker & quot; as well as & quot;Whole Lotta Love, & quot; considered by many to be one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songs of all time. The album is certified diamond by the RIAA with sales of over 12 million copies. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Led Zeppelin II companion audio gives fans the first peek into the band's recording sessions, with alternate mixes of five songs from the album, backing tracks to & quot;Thank You & quot; and & quot;Living Loving Maid (She's Just A Woman), & quot; and the previously unreleased track & quot;La La. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In 1968, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant formed Led Zeppelin, one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups in modern music. The band has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide with a celebrated catalog including such landmark songs as & quot;Whole Lotta Love, & quot; & quot;Kashmir, & quot; & quot;Rock And Roll, & quot; & quot;When The Levee Breaks & quot; and & quot;Stairway To Heaven. & quot; The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Page brought in Plant, Bonham and Jones to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest rock band in the world. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Led Zeppelin continues to be honored for its pivotal role in music history. The band was inducted into the Rock & amp; Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and a year later was awarded with the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm. Founding members Jones, Page and Plant - along with Jason Bonham, the son of John Bonham - took the stage at London's O2 Arena in 2007 to headline a tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun, a dear friend and Atlantic Records' founder. The band was honored for its lifetime contribution to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. In January of 2014, the band won their first ever Grammy award as Celebration Day, which captured their live performance at the Ertegun tribute concert, was named Best Rock Album. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Deluxe Edition Features Original Album On 180g Vinyl PLUS Companion LP On 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; Newly Remastered by Jimmy Page from the Original Master Tapes & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; Housed in tri-fold sleeve with original artwork and newly created negative artwork for companion audio & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
