This is not LP’s first pandeiro but it is the first truly authentic Brazilian folkloric model. For those unacquainted, the pandeiro is a Brazilian version of the ubiquitous tambourine, though dryer and more contained. Accordingly, the Rio Pandeiro features a 10” head with shallow 1¾” deep shell. The shell is lightweight to reduce hand fatigue and foster the intricate, sustained rhythms required of this typical samba instrument. Also promoting comfort is a special smoothing of the interior shell. Heads are attractive black synthetics, offset nicely by chrome hardware. Seven tuning screws are well-spaced to accommodate various hand sizes and to fix head tension securely.
Six sets of melodious, dry jingles produce the signature Brazilian Pandeiro tone. A carry bag is also included.
