"I became inspired to record an album of musical experiences with the legacy artists who inspired me to want to be a great songwriter, musician, and producer," explains Crow. "It is a celebration with them, and a tribute to them. Just as importantly, I wanted to work with younger artists on this record, who I believe will pick up the torch and continue to light the way for humanity with their stories and their songs for many years to come. Their music inspires me every day."

Over a 30-year career, Sheryl Crow has built a reputation as a talented songwriter, jam session partner, and frequent collaborator with some of the finest musicians out there. She stitches all those experiences together on Threads, a rollicking release with not a single dud among its 17 songs, 13 of which were written or co-written by Crow... Uncannily, every song manages to sound both like a Sheryl Crow song but also shares DNA with the collaborator; the endlessly jam-able 'Still the Good Old Days' with Joe Walsh, for instance, would be equally at hom on an album by either... Sheryl Crow has stated that Threads willl be her final album. I can't imagine a better way to kick ass, take names, and saunter off into the sunset. Some collaboration albums simply come across as corporate product. Threads, on the other hand, serves as an affirmation of Crow's talents as well as an opportunity for some fellow musicians to show some love.
