The Slider is the seventh studio album by glam rock act T. Rex, released on 21 July 1972. Technically, it is the third album under the name T. Rex - their first four albums were released under the Tyrannosaurus Rex moniker. Two singles, "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru", were released to promote the album, the latter famously regarded by Morrissey as pop perfection. The Slider received acclaim from critics, and reached #4 in the UK charts and #17 in the US.
This classic album released on the back of three chart-topping T.Rex LPs provides a perfect snapshot of the era the press dubbed T. Rextasy and is proof of Bolan's extraordinary and enduring appeal across the generations.
Packaged as a double-LP gatefold with printed inner sleeves on 180g heavyweight black vinyl. LP 1 is the classic album and the second LP is Rabbit Fighter: The Alternate Slider. Rabbit Fighter is an alternate version of the original album made up of alternate takes, demos and b-sides. A must have for any fan.
