Julianna is able to produce mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato and everywhere in between. The familiar controls like Lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato Blend, and selectable LFO wave shapes are all still here but Julianna employs some new tricks. Secondary LFO speed, modulation drift, tap/expression control and momentary features will have commanding all new kinds of sounds not found in traditional chorus pedals. Unlike most other chorus pedals, the Julianna and Julia have a special feature called Lag control. The Lag knob lets set the center delay time that the LFO modulates. The Carl Martin EchoTone pedal's Echo knob lets mix between dry and wet; the Feedback knob lets choose the amount of echo want; and the Tone knob lets adjust the voicing on the repeats, from dark position in full counterclockwise to light in full clockwise. The tone will only affect the repeats, not the overall sound from the guitar. With the delay pedal's Loop can insert an external effect device, like a chorus, phase, overdrive pedal, or EQ. With this can either color or modulate the echo in a multitude of different ways with really cool results. Once again, the sounds produced in the loop only work on the repeats, not on the overall tone coming from the guitar. Inserting a modulation effect into the loop requires to regulate the echo and feedback to lesser settings, as the feedback can go into oscillation if left in the same setting without modulation. The delay pedal's Trail switch lets guitarists choose whether want trails on or off when in bypass mode. Trails are the echo ringing out when bypass the effect pedal, in off position the effect stops immediately when bypassed. As with all the Danish built Carl Martin effects, the Echotone delay pedal comes in a low-profile housing, coated in a stunning off-white color, with a built-in 12v (+/-) regulated power supply. When it came time to mix the record, the band blended the two signals together in different ratios to match the vibe of each track.The MXR Dookie Drive Pedal captures the sound of both the amps used on that record in a single pedal so that can dial in own variations of the famous Dookie sound. The designers borrowed the amps themselves so that the MXR team could carefully analyze all the sonic qualities that make them sound so darn good. After much analysis and A/B testing, the engineers rebuilt the amps from scratch in pedal circuit form and fit them into a single housing. The High Gain and Crunch Gain sections each have their own controls, while the Blend control allows to mix them together just like Green Day did in the studio.
