EarthQuaker Devices The Depths V2 Optical Vibe Effects Pedal
Ahoy! Welcome to your new Depths V2 Optical Vibe Machine! The Depths is EarthQuaker Devices take on the classic optical vibe circuit. Now you can swab the decks with the same lush, pulsating, three-dimensional swirling sound you know and love, with some modern accouterments for all you land-lubbers out there. The Depths is optimized for use with all kinds of instruments, pickups, and to play well with dirt, so nobody’s left waiting on shore. If it’s got a 1/4” output, plug it in and get deep! In addition to the classic vibe controls, the Depths features unique controls for “Voice” and “Throb.” The “Voice” control adjusts the midrange focus of the Depths, which is perfect for tailoring the effect to your particular instrument. Clockwise, you’ll hear a fuller sound with a low-end focus. Counter-clockwise, you’ll hear a thinner, spikier sound with a forward upper-midrange bite. The “Throb” knob adds a hefty subharmonic low-end pulse to the vibrato signal, which is especially useful on synthesizers and the bass guitar. It sounds great with a little bit of dirt on the neck pickup of a guitar, too! This works best with the “Voice” turned counter-clockwise for a warmer tone. The Depths’ “Intensity” and “Rate” controls are dialed in to give you the classic optical vibe sound at more modest settings, but dive in deeper and you’ll find anything from a smooth ultra-slow warble to sharp, speedy bursts! Also, the “Level” control has tons of output above unity on tap to combat the perceived volume loss of most vibe pedals, so your tone is always above water. And, if 9v isn’t enough to keep you afloat, the Depths may be powered at 18v for a stiffer tone with more headroom and sparkle. The Depths is true-bypass, uses rusty all-analog circuitry, and is built one-at-a-time aboard the wreckage of the SS Minnow, currently dry-docked in Akron, Ohio, USA.ControlsVoice: Dials in the overall sound. Turn it clockwise for a fuller sound with more lows, bring it back for a thinner, more midrange focused tone.Throb: This controls the low end pulse. It may not be immediately evident on the bridge pickup, but switch to the neck or add some dirt and it comes alive. All the way up for more throb, dial it back for less. Works best when the “Voice” is set to a warmer tone.Intensity: This controls how subtle or intense the overall effect is. Counter clockwise from noon are the more subtle, classic sounds. Clockwise from noon are the more drastic and intense sounds.Rate: Controls the speed of the effect. Counterclockwise for slow, clockwise for fast.Level: Controls the volume of the effect. Unity is around 1 O’clock, everything above that is boost.
earthquaker devices swiss things guitar effects pedalboard reconciler
Swiss Things is an all-in-one pedalboard reconciliation solution designed to really tie your rig together without resorting to some confusing loop-switching contraption bigger than a meatball party sub that eats up the entire bottom row of your board and kind-of-but-not-quite does what you need it to do.
Swiss Things combines two true-bypass Flexi-Switch enabled effects loops, a Flexi-Switch AB-Y box with transformer isolation between outputs, a buffered tuner output, 20dB of clean boost, an expression pedal output for volume control and a quiet, high headroom output buffer into a compact pedalboard-friendly signal routing junction box that lives at the top-right corner of your pedalboard and really ties your rig together without any signal loss.
This is what you can do with it:
Use as many pedals as you’d like without tone-suck
Quickly and easily bypass all your pedals with one click
Use Flexi-Switch™ Technology with every pedal in your setup
Eliminate volume pedal tone-suck by using any expression pedal to control volume
Use multiple amps without phase issues, ground loops, or extra noise
Tidy up your rig, shorten cable runs, and reduce tone loss by keeping all inputs and outputs in one location
Here’s what the footswitches do:
Loop 1: Press this to engage Loop 1. It features Flexi-Switch™ Technology and is unbuffered for use with all distortion, overdrive, and fuzz pedals, or anything else that doesn’t like being buffered.
Loop 2: Press this to engage Loop 2. It also features Flexi-Switch™ Technology and is buffered for use with time-based effects (delay, reverb, modulation, etc.).
Note: when nothing is plugged into Loop 2, it functions as a mute.
Boost: press this to activate the boost. It is Flexi-Switch™ Technology enabled and provides up to 20dB of clean boost post-effects loops and is intended for use as an output booster.
A/B selects between Output A and Output B.
Note: Output B is transformer-isolated and includes a Phase switch for use with pedals and/or amplifiers which invert phase.
Both activates Output A and Output B at the same time and features Flexi-Switch™ Technology.
Here’s what the input, output, send, return, and expression jacks are for:
Input: plug your instrument in here.
If you have any “always-on” pedals (compressors, preamps, EQs, etc.) place them before Swiss Things’ input.
Loop 1 Send: Plug this into the input of the first pedal in the overdrive/distortion/fuzz section of your board.
Loop 1 Return: Plug the output of the last pedal of the overdrive/distortion/fuzz section into this jack.
Loop 2 Send: Plug this into the input of the first pedal in the modulation section of your board.
Loop 2 Return: Plug the output of the last pedal of your modulation section into this jack.
Tuner Output: Connect this to the input of your tuner.
To avoid extra noise, your tuner must always be turned on when connected to Swiss Things.
Volume EXP: Connect any expression pedal to this output to control volume.
Most volume pedals create “tone-suck” by loading the signal down and have limited travel. This solves that problem with a buffered output and allows you to use any expression pedal with the same results. The expression jack is placed after the “dirt” effects loop (Loop 1) which allows you to change volume levels without affecting gain.
Output A: connect this to the input of your amplifier.
Output B: connect this to the input of a separate amplifier to use multiple amps and/or to play in stereo.
Note: to use Swiss Things with stereo effects, they should be placed after Outputs A & B and both outputs must be selected using the Both switch.
Note: Output B is transformer-isolated and includes a Phase switch for use with pedals and/or amplifiers which invert phase.
To use stereo effects after Swiss Things, do not have the
EarthQuaker Devices Data Corrupter Modulated Monophonic Harmonizing PLL
The EarthQuaker Devices Data Corrupter Modulated Monophonic Harmonizing PLL is a wild, yet repeatable three-voice modulated monophonic PLL harmonizer that takes your input signal and brutally amplifies it into a crushing square wave fuzz tone that is then multiplied, divided and modulated to create a harmonically complex, expressive and touch-responsive analog synth tone up to three octaves below (or above) the original, plus additional harmonies. The central nervous system at the heart of the Data Corrupter’s hive mind is the Master Oscillator. The Master Oscillator’s “Root” (the octave of which is selectable via a three-position rotary switch) adjusts the frequency range and tracking response of the input signal, which is then synthesized and harmonized by one of eight Master Oscillator programs, adjustable by an eight-way rotary switch. From there, the Frequency Modulator applies pitch-bend modulation to the Master Oscillator. In Glide mode, you’ll hear a smooth portamento as each note slides into the next. In Vibrato mode the pitch modulates up and down for a retro sci-fi laser effect. The Subharmonic assimilates the input signal into one of eight lower octave programs between one and three octaves below the original. For a more stable lower octave, set the Subharmonic’s Root switch to the Unison position, which divides the Square Wave input signal, and removes the Frequency Modulator from the Subharmonic signal path. To unleash the cracked machine lurking within the Data Corrupter mainframe, set the Subharmonic Root switch to Oscillator and try not to look away as the sonic malware you just installed mangles your input signal into the sum and difference of both the Master Oscillator and Subharmonic with the Frequency Modulator applied to the upper and lower octaves.

EarthQuaker Devices Ghost Echo Reverb V3 Guitar Effects Pedal
You hear that EVP, bud? It’s the updated, extra spook-tacular, Ghost Echo calling out from beyond the void! The Ghost Echo is EarthQuaker Devices spooky take on the haunted amp-top spring reverberation units of yesteryear. This creepy analog/digital spring reverb emulation machine boasts a terrifying 30ms – 150ms of pre-delay, controllable via the “Attack” knob, for everything from a quick rockabilly slapback, to viscous pools of ectoplasmic reverberations. When playing staccato, you’ll hear the tortured trails of the reverb, resulting in more of a slapback, or echo sound. Legato playing will reveal a massive ambient “depth” that fattens up the sound. The “Dwell” control sets the length and thickness of the decay, which is to say that it controls how long the disembodied spirits of notes no longer with us float through the ether. At the maximum setting it will descend into an infinite loop of self-oscillation. The “Depth” sets the intensity of the reverb, which you probably know as the wet/dry mix, but EarthQuaker likes to think of it more as how scary the overall effect is. The Ghost Echo is true bypass and built one at a time by a team of friendly ghosts in the never-ending hall of funhouse mirrors that is Akron, Ohio, USA.

earthquaker devices park vintage germanium fuzz tone guitar effects pedal
EarthQuaker Devices and the newly resurrected Park Amplifiers have joined forces to deliver a reissue of the vintage Park Fuzz Sound! The Park Fuzz Sound is a germanium fuzz from the Tone Bender family that produces a brighter, almost distortion-like tone compared to its Fuzz Face counterpart. The new Park Fuzz Sound remains faithful to the original in topology and tone but adds some additional functionality for the modern player. We increased the fuzz range, lowered the noise floor, hand match all the transistors for optimal performance, internally regulated the power and added a DC power jack to allow for use on all modern 9v power supplies, added an LED, crammed it all into a smaller enclosure and made it readily available for a small fraction of the cost of the nearly impossible to obtain original. EarthQuaker Devices Rainbow Machine V2 Polyphonic Pitch Shifter Effects Pedal and Octoskull T-Shirt Large Black
Welcome to the Rainbow Machine, in all its synthetic glory! This one is for experimenters, adventurists, and noisemakers. Totally not for purists and/or tone hounds. There are no “natural sounds” that come from this box. It takes modern DSP and uses it as a tool of future past to create real-time pitch shifting using digital oscillators. Stop? Okay, fine, but what if I told you the Rainbow Machine has been completely re-imagineered from the pixie dust-covered ground up to be more versatile, twice as loud as the original, with an extended delay time, deeper chorus tones, silent Flexi-Switch™ foot switches on both the Activate and Magic functions, and most of all, has more Magic? The Rainbow Machine is built around a DSP pitch warping engine that’s designed to be slightly imperfect; colored with digital remnants of the cosmic dust picked up across the multiverse. That is to say it’s a cold digital beast made to pretend it has feelings. The Pitch control adjusts the frequency of the polyphonic pitch-warped harmony from a fourth below your input, to a third above, and every atonal pitch in-between. Noon is the unison position. Use the Primary function control to adjust the volume of the polyphonic harmony. You may add in an accompanying octave or thicken the modulation by bringing up the Secondary function control. The Tracking control adjusts the lag time between the wet and dry signals, and the Tone control rolls off some treble for a darker, “vintage” sound. Clockwise is bright, counterclockwise is dark. [Pro Tip: The Rainbow Machine’s pitch warping behavior is entirely dependent upon the Pitch knob’s position relative to noon. Set above noon, echoes, pixie trails, and other effects will ascend in pitch as they sustain. With the Pitch control below noon, any lingering effects will descend in pitch. This becomes extremely important when using the Magic function. ]The Secondary control adds an octave of the Primary harmony. When the Pitch control is above noon, Secondary adds an octave above the harmony. When the Pitch control is below noon, the Secondary control will add one octave below the harmony. With the Pitch set to noon, the Secondary control adds an additional chorus voice for modulated, triple-tracked tones. Use this control to blend in faux-shimmer sounds or a low-frequency rumble. It’s up to you. From there, it’s only a matter of how weird you wanna get. And you can choose how weird you wanna get with the Magic control. This is a regeneration control that creates aliasing (among other things) by feeding the Primary and Secondary signals back on themselves and each other, and a bunch of other stuff no one understands. With the Magic engaged and the control set low, you can squeeze a few extra repeats out of whatever setting you happen to be using. As you increase the Magic control, you’ll start noticing increased ambiance, resonant, edge-of-oscillation pitch-shifting delays, chorus, metallic digi-flanging, ascending (or descending) pixie trails, controllable self-oscillation, squalls of synthetic noise, whale song, and finally, distortion. It’ll take you way beyond and open up your third eye. In conjunction with the Tracking control, the Magic creates wild pitch take offs and descends, chaos chorusing, shrieks, groans, gurgles, briggles, bruggles, bridals, wizard-blessed wizardry, signal transformation, imminent destruction, and other general mayhem. Each and every Rainbow Machine is harvested by hand in the (pixie) dusty Rainbonium mines of sunshiny Akron, Ohio, USA.
