Kenny Burrell Special Requests (And Other Favorites) 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Burrell Captured Live at Catalina's on 180g Vinyl! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Kenny Burrell has appeared on so many essential jazz recordings that jazz history and his biography seem irretrievably intertwined. Billie Holiday's valedictory rumination Lady Sings the Blues, Jimmy Smith's epochal funk throwdown Back at the Chicken Shack, Tony Bennett's Carnegie Hall debut--Kenny Burrell played guitar for them all. Even Jimi Hendrix once remarked, & lt;b & gt; & quot;Kenny Burrell--that's the sound I'm looking for. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Here is Burrell captured live at the West Coast jazz mecca, Catalina's, in an easy-going program of some of his most requested tunes along with a few of his personal favorites thrown in. Jazz tunes by Benny Golson, Freddie Hubbard, the Duke and others are here all given the ever tasteful Burrell treatment. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Fans of Burrell's early sessions for Blue Note should be aware that the guitarist was in fine form in 2012, and listeners will definitely find some pleasant moments here. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Al Campbell, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Kenny Burrell, guitar & lt;br & gt; Justo Almario, tenor sax & lt;br & gt; Tom Rainer, piano & lt;br & gt; Tony Dumas, bass & lt;br & gt; Clayton Cameron, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Eric Alexander Chicago Fire 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g Vinyl LP Release! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; There's an old saying that a great jazz musician never plays a song the same way once. That could certainly be said of Eric Alexander. One of the busiest players in jazz yet his playing is as imaginative as ever, with the ideas pouring out of his horn. His harmonic inventiveness is exceptional and he'll run the changes at such length at times that you wonder if he'll resolve everything in time and end up back on the beat — but he always does. He has a big, full, sound, and a ferocious technique, with access to the full range of his instrument, all under super-human control. Both the Bird and the Sonny Rollins legacies have been thoroughly internalized but here Eric explores the repertoire of another school of tenor playing — the Chicagoans. With long-time collaborators Harold Mabern, John Webber and Joe Farnsworth, Eric gives the nod to some Windy City players who helped shape the sound of jazz for decades, Eddie Harris, Von Freeman and others. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Eric Alexander, tenor saxophone & lt;br & gt; Jeremy Pelt, trumpet & lt;br & gt; Harold Mabern, piano & lt;br & gt; John Webber, bass & lt;br & gt; Joe Farnsworth, drums & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
