Ween Chocolate & Cheese 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
Ween's fourth album, originally released in 1994, is perhaps their finest moment, a brilliant mix of twisted humor and pure pop genius. Ween draw influence from smooth '70s soul, psych, soft rock, spaghetti westerns, country, funk, indierock and more to the point where each song is a spot-on take on a different genre with their silliness being the uniting element. An outsider-pop classic reissued on 180 gram vinyl. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Ween 12 Golden Country Greats 180g LP (Vinyl)
Ween's fifth album, originally released in 1996, sees the group actually limiting themselves to one musical genre. Seeking to recreate the sound of golden-age country music, the group brought in some seasoned Nashville musicians, including pianist Bobby Ogdin, fiddle and mandolin player Buddy Spicher and the Jordanaires. This lead to a very successful outcome. As for the title, even though there are only 10 songs included on the album, the group had actually recorded 12 tunes during the sessions. The title also could be referring to the dozen veteran musicians who were instrumental in the success of the country sound Ween was searching for. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Songs like & quot;Piss Up a Rope & quot; mix the country sound with the classic Ween sound for a one of a kind treat! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. WEEN THE MOLLUSK 180g LP (Vinyl)
The Mollusk, Ween's sixth full-length, was originally released in 1997. The concept album features mostly songs containing nautical themes. The album incorporates many musical genres bound by a heavy prog rock influence with some psychedelia thrown in for good measure. The Mollusk is one of the band's favorite albums - and the critics agree. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Now this title is Issued for the first time ever on vinyl with a double sided insert. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...one of the strongest albums of his career to date...the tone of these sessions is at once relaxed and committed, sounding like a back porch guitar pull with a seriously talented guy handling the lead vocals and calling out the tunes. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;-Mark Deming, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Featuring some of Nashville’s greatest session musicians (including & quot;Pig & quot; Robbins, Charlie McCoy, and the Jordanaires), this is one of Ween’s finest records to date, with that classic Ween sense of humor filtered through a distinct countrypolitan sound. It was the first Ween album to eschew the crude four-track home recordings of their first three albums and utilize a professional recording studio. However, most of the instruments were still played by Dean and Gene Ween, including their drum machine. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Ween's fourth album is perhaps their finest moment, a brilliant mix of twisted humor and pure pop genius. Teenage Fanclub Grand Prix 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Blissful, Melodic Pop Masterpiece On 180g Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1995 Power Pop/Britpop classic from Scotland greats Teenage Fanclub. Released at the height of Britpop mania it shows the maturation of songwriters Norman Blake, Gerry Love and Raymond McGinley and is the high watermark for the band. Ranked #72 on Q Magazine’s 100 greatest British albums and #36 on Pitchfork’s Top 50 Britpop albums. A blissful, melodic pop masterpiece reissued on 180 gram vinyl. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot; For all of the brilliance of records like Bandwagonesque and the underrated Thirteen, at times Teenage Fanclub seemed little more than a showcase for the laconic melodic genius of Norman Blake -- fairly or not, the songwriting contributions of bandmates Gerard Love and Raymond McGinley suffered mightily by comparison, mere filler when stacked alongside Blake-penned marvels like 'The Concept' and 'Norman 3.' That said, the superb Grand Prix is perhaps the truest group effort in the Fannies' catalog -- more than ever before, their democratic approach truly bears fruit, and it's indicative of the disc's uniform excellence that the first Blake composition, the lovely 'Mellow Doubt,' doesn't even surface until track three, by which time McGinley's 'About You' and Love's harmony-rich 'Sparky's Dream' have already firmly established the set's ragged-but-right tenor. While new drummer Paul Quinn fails to recreate the buoyantly reckless abandon of the sacked Brendan O'Hare, Grand Prix otherwise captures complete creative synergy -- in particular, 'Don't Look Back' is Love's watershed moment, a gorgeously wistful love song highlighted by wittily lovelorn lyrics like 'I'd steal a car to drive you home,' as good a pick-up line as anything in the annals of rock & amp; roll. Not everything works (McGinley's 'Verisimilitude' goes nowhere fast) and Blake's contributions are still the highlights ('Neil Jung' and 'I'll Make It Clear' are simply perfect pop songs), but Grand Prix is ultimately the product of a band at the peak of its collective powers, not as much a landmark as Bandwagonesque but every bit as good on its own terms. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Jason Ankeny, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
