The album cover and package created after months of graphic work and processes by hand enhanced its excellence and to ensure the record’s superb sound quality, the German MMP, who undertook the record production of EMI Germany and Universal, utilized a heavy weight 180g vinyl LP to contain the sound. Khiov who was in charge of the planning and production of many LP miniature series took charge of the album cover production spending 6 months to create a masterpiece. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This project was highly scrutinized passing rigid testing at the factory in Germany. Even the performers themselves had not been able to put their hands on the LP version of their own albums as their home country had not produced them. & amp;nbsp; The LPs produced by this project certainly have become must-have items by LP lovers all around the world. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In the age where faster and more convenient is thought to be better, the increase in demand for the retro vinyl LP worldwide is clearly attributed to the satisfaction from the sound offered by analog products impossible to be replicated by CD and digital products and the delight of touching, feeling, and possessing this masterpiece-like large artwork. Furthermore, LP records have both rarity and history that increase their value over time and serve as an attractive factor for collectors. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; John McLaughlin's 1995 album was originally released on CD only on Verve Records. The cover features a Magic-Eye graphic that contains a hidden image. McLaughlin is joined by artists such as Jeff Beck, Al Di Meola, Michael Brecker and more! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Originally issued in 1996 when he was 54, the Promise offers a summation of all the places John McLaughlin has been in his career, and points directly toward his future. Featuring a wide range of musicians including appearances by the Free Spirits, the Guitar Trio, and an electric version of Shakti, the Promise is easily the most wide-ranging and diverse offering of McLaughlin's long career. Its contents encompass everything from straight post-bop and swinging soul-jazz to fusion to modern takes on East Indian music as it meets the West. As if this weren't enough, there are even moments with spoken word laced throughout, such as a verse of Dante read by Stefania Bombi toward the end of his scorching, funky, soul-jazz number & quot;Thelonius Melodius & quot; with B-3 organist Joey DeFrancesco and drummer Dennis Chambers. The set kicks off with one of its finest moments, a guitar-to-guitar reading of John Lewis' & quot;Django & quot; with Jeff Beck (bassist Pino Palladino, drummer Mark Mondesir, and drummer Tony Hymas round it out). Beck's solo is first; it is expansive as it moves from a gorgeous restating of the melody through slinky harmonic extrapolations. McLaughlin's answer is ambitious and intuitive. They then move toward one another and the melody, complementing each other perfectly. & quot;El Ciego & quot; is a complex, flamenco-tinged jazz number with McLaughlin trading knotty lines and soulful solos with Al di Meola and Paco de Lucia. & quot;Jazz Jungle & quot; is late 20th century fusion at its blazing best with Michael Brecker, Chambers, Don Alias, James Genus, and Jim Beard beginning almost nebulously before ratcheting the tempo and idea palettes to dizzying heights (Brecker is particularly brilliant). & quot;The Wish, & quot; with Zakir Hussein, Nishat Khan, and Trilok Gurtu, looks deeply into Indian classical music balanced by a European gaze. McLaughlin's engagement with Khan's sitar creates nearly rapturous expression, all the while contained inside a texture that is as atmospheric as it is exotic. & quot;Shin Jin Rui & quot; employs the same band as & quot;Jazz Jungle, & quot; with the exception of the saxophone, played by David Sanborn. His playing is riskier than on his own records, his alto juxtaposed with McLaughlin's guitar, a study in funky, electric jazz modernism. The set closes with a lovely all-acoustic reading of Jimmy Rowles' & quot;The Peacocks & quot; with guitarist Phillipe Loi and bassist Yan Maresz, and a verse by Lorca read by Susana Beatrix as an end cap. Ultimately, the Promise stands as one of McLaughlin's towering achievements as a guitarist and leader. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;br & gt; • 180g heavyweight vinyl pressed by MMP & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 8-page booklet & lt;br & gt; • Black poly-lined inner sleeves & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket with magic-eye graphic & lt;br & gt; • Project designed & amp; sleeve made by Khiov & lt;br & gt; • Originally released in 1995 on CD only & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; John McLaughlin, guitars, keyboards & lt;br & gt; Don Alias, percussion & lt;br & gt; Jim Beard, keyboards & lt;br & gt; Jeff Beck, guitar & lt;br & gt; Michael Brecker, saxophone & lt;br & gt; Dennis Chambers, drums & lt;br & gt; Vinnie Colaiuta, drums & lt;br & gt; Joey DeFrancesco, organ, trumpet & lt;br & gt; Paco De Lucia, guitar & lt;br & gt; Al Di Meola, guitar & lt;br & gt; Zakir Hussain, tabla & lt;br & gt; Nishat Khna, sitar, vocals & lt;br & gt; David Sanborn, saxophone & lt;br & gt; Sting, bass & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola & John McLaughlin The Guitar Trio 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Never Before on VINYL!!! & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl Pressed in Germany with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Guitar Trio is a reunion album by celebrated acoustic guitar virtuosos Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin, released in 1996 after 13 years without playing together. This 1996 release has three originals a piece from McLaughlin and Di Meola, two by de Lucia and a McLaughlin-Di Meola deut on & quot;Manha de Carnaval. & quot; The recording of this album was followed by a triumphant world tour. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Paco de Lucia was a spanish flamenco guitarist, composer and producer. A leading proponent of the New Flamenco style, he helped legitimize flamenco among the establishment in Spain, and was one of the first flamenco guitarists to have successfully crossed over into other genres of music such as classical and jazz. De Lucia was noted for his fast and fluent fingerstyle runs. His collaborations with guitarists John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola saw him gain wider popularity outside his native Spain. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Al Di Meola is an acclaimed jazz fusion and Latin jazz guitarist, composer, and record producer. With a musical career that has spanned more than three decades, he has become respected as one of the most influential guitarists in jazz to date. Albums such as Friday Night In San Francisco have earned him both artistic and commercial success with a solid fan base throughout the world. A prolific composer and prodigious six-string talent, Di Meola has amassed over 20 albums as a leader while collaborating on a dozen or so others. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; John McLaughlin is an English guitarist, bandleader and composer. His music includes many genres of jazz and rock, which he coupled with an interest in Indian classical music to become one of the pioneering figures in fusion. In 2010, guitarist Jeff Beck called him & quot;the best guitarist alive. & quot; In 2003, McLaughlin was ranked 49th in Rolling Stone's & quot;100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. & quot; After contributing to several key British groups of the early sixties and making his first solo record, he moved to the US where he played with Tony Williams' group Lifetime and then with Miles Davis on his landmark electric-jazz fusion albums: In A Silent Way, Bitches Brew, A Tribute To Jack Johnson and On The Corner. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Guitar Trio is an excellent collaborative effort from three of the finest jazz guitarists of the post-rock & amp; roll era: Paco de Lucía, John McLaughlin, and Al di Meola. Throughout the record, the trio doesn't just showcase their instrumental skills; they demonstrate their musicality. This is sympathetic, emotional musicianship, where each musician complements each other instead of trying to out-do the other. For jazz guitar fans, it rarely gets more exciting than Guitar Trio. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Leo Stanley, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Paco De Lucia, Al Di Meola, and John McLaughlin once again demonstrate extraordinary virtuosity, accelerated runs tumbling over one another until identities blur. Repeated listening, however, starts to focus on the subtle differences in nuance, especially in the compositions. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Adam Rains, amazon.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The “Play 33 1/3 LP Series” features masterpiece albums released in the '90s converted for the first time world-wide to analog Long Playing record. Marc Johnson The Sound Of Summer Running 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Never Before on VINYL!!! & lt;br & gt; 180g Double Vinyl Pressed in Germany with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; With The Sound of Summer Running, bassist Marc Johnson has assembled a landmark quartet of such magnitude as to rival his legendary Bass Desires group of the mid 80s. Returning from that group is crafty guitar pioneer Bill Frisell. The two new additions are contemporary jazz guitar master Pat Metheny and the always adventurous percussionist Joey Baron. This list of musicians constitutes a & quot;dream band & quot; if there ever was one. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For this album, his sixth recording as a leader, Johnson wanted to continue the idea of a two-guitarist alignment. & lt;b & gt; & quot;Those guys are so diverse and their ranges are so large…they can play with authority anything from free improvisation to Country & amp; Western, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; Johnson said of Frisell and Metheny. & lt;b & gt; & quot;Both of them are master musicians, and I knew they were going to play well together. But I didn't realize how well until I was in the studio with them. They floored me on every take. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The album takes its name from a story by Ray Bradbury, and has a distinctive American Midwestern feel. Johnson wanted to write music that spoke clearly and simply to the heart. Once he decided that he wanted to do a & quot;heartland & quot; album, the writing started to flow freely. Johnson shared composition responsibilities with Metheny, who contributed one piece, and Frisell, who wrote two pieces. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Hearing Frisell and Metheny--arguably the two most original and identifiable guitar stylists in modern music--establish their relaxed, playful dialogue would be reason enough for this meeting, but Johnson's focal role as composer with an unforced lyricism along with Baron's consistently superb percussion make this a sound for all seasons. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;-Sam Sutherland & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Marc Johnson has created sounds so gentle, wholesome, even magical, they evoke a country summer childhood... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Entertainment Weekly & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;This date is a surprisingly mellow and melodic affair, particularly when one considers the personnel (bassist Marc Johnson, both Bill Frisell and Pat Metheny on guitars and drummer Joey Baron). Much of the music is comprised of unclassifiable, folkish melodies filled with lyrical guitar solos. Frisell is quite restrained throughout (adding a country feel to many of the songs) and Metheny is less distinctive than usual, alternating between his electric and acoustic guitars, as well as his 42-string pikasso guitar. The quartet performs seven Johnson originals (most memorable is & quot;Union Pacific & quot;), two by Frisell and one from Metheny. The overall results are pleasing and relaxed music... & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound and protected by premium vinyl outer sleeve. Charlie Haden & Hank Jones Steal Away Spirituals, Hymns And Folk Songs 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Never Before on VINYL!!! & lt;br & gt; 180g Double Vinyl Pressed in Germany with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; From the outset of his career with Ornette Coleman, through his work with pianist Keith Jarrett, his own Liberation Music Orchestra and collaborations with the likes of Paul Motian, Hampton Hawes, Chet Baker, Carlos Paredes and Ginger Baker, bassist Charlie Haden has always given the spiritual component of music greater importance than its technical considerations. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Haden's finest work has always focused on the most intimate, humanistic principles: freedom, justice, quality. In pianist Hank Jones, Haden encounters a collaborator and fellow traveler whose musical instincts are every inch as elegant and refined as his own. And in the rich public domain of materials which make up Steal Away, Haden and Jones take on an oral (and moral) tradition of music that has been inspiring listeners since before the time of the underground railroad. For the most part, Haden and Jones downplay their jazz stylings-- & quot;We Shall Overcome & quot; being a joyous exception--in favor of simple expressive declamations, imparting a timeless feel to each performance. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; These solemn hymns, spirituals and folk songs performed by bassist Charlie Haden and pianist Hank Jones were recorded at Radio Canada Studio B in Montreal, Canada June 29 & amp; 30, 1994. Steal Away was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Peformance, Individual or Group. & quot;Go Down, Moses & quot; was nominated for a Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Solo. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...Bassist Charlie Haden and pianist Hank Jones perform a variety of spirituals, hymns and folk songs as duets. The traditional music (which includes such tunes as & quot;Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, & quot; & quot;Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, & quot; & quot;Sometimes I Feel like a Motherless Child & quot; and & quot;We Shall Overcome & quot;) are all performed respectfully and with reverence. With this (her seventh album), she's already made it big in the rest of Northern Europe, and in the proud words of the Norwegian Embassy - now she wants to conquer Britain. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Silje's voice is as childlike as Lisa Ekdahl's, and as if that wasn't enough she has a baby on backing vocals! Her songwriting, though, is mature. She can write an expansive melody that's well structured but isn't straitjacketed by chorus and verse. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot; & quot;Be Still My Heart & quot; comes from the Sting school of navel-gazing, with its falling cadences, rich bass, and Till Bronner's haunting, Chris Botti-esque trumpet. This, and the quietly beautiful & quot;There's Always A First Time & quot;, both start with simple melody and instrumentation and grow in complexity. Silje's polished-silver vocals mix with sax and strings to form a precious but strong amalgam, while Magnus Lindgren's sax solo unravels the melody and plays with the loose ends. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Although Silje writes her music at a distance from lyricist Mike McGurk, the produce of their relationship sounds organic as if words and music developed together. In fact, Silje sees the nature of Scandinavian jazz in the need to try to let the melody breathe and it's this sense of space that her voice demands if it's to be at its most individual and expressive... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - bbc.co.uk & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The “Play 33 1/3 LP Series” features masterpiece albums released in the '90s converted for the first time world-wide to analog Long Playing record. George Benson Irreplaceable 180g LP (Vinyl)

It's fun to see him trying to stay in the post-millennial urban groove hip with some of the younger generation's top songwriter/producers like Joshua Thompson (who's produced for O-Town, Aretha Franklin, and Babyface) and Joe. Those who wish he'd remember his prowess as a jazz guitarist have to content themselves with its general background capacity behind pleasant romantic vocal textures and easy grooving hip-hop shuffle grooves. Fortunately, Benson's in particularly fine voice, and most of the hooks are catchy from the get go. Conceptually, the best tunes are & quot;Six Play & quot; (which we soon realize is a love song to his six-string) and & quot;Cell Phone, & quot; which postulates the idea that God and our late loved ones are accessible by wireless. There are a few stylistic deviations from the basic cool formula here, most notably the gospel-tinged & quot;Whole Man, & quot; and the lush, gently exotic, flamenco-flavored soul tune & quot;Strings of Love. & quot; The hope is that Benson's collaborations with the hipsters will expose his legendary talents to the kids who might otherwise shy away from the charms of an elder statesman. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The 'Play 33 1/3 LP Series' is a 1st LP issue project of the masterpiece albums which have never been released on vinyl LP. Ritenour's subsequent album, 2010's 6 String Theory, is just that, a varied celebration on the many styles and players who have utilized the guitar. The result is an expansive, ambitious, but never belabored album that touches on jazz, blues, funk, and rock and expands beyond the usual Ritenour approach while remaining true to his unique six-string sound. To these ends, Ritenour duets with such artists as contemporary bluesman Keb' Mo', fusion/post-bop legend Pat Martino, and blues icon B.B. King, as well as George Benson, Slash, Mike Stern, and others. To say this is an all-star affair is an understatement and fortunately, it delivers on Ritenour's promise of a guitar celebration. Edda Magnason Monica Z Soundtrack 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g LP with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;br & gt; From the Original Master of Universal Music! & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;br & gt; Never Before on Vinyl! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; As a child in rural Fyledalen in southern Sweden, Magnason would compose songs on the piano and dreamed of being a concert pianist. She broke off her composition studies at the Gotland Composition School in 2004 in order to learn by doing, and has developed a strong, personal voice: jazz/pop music with classical elements, and whimsical lyrics. Woman Travels Alone follows her début album Edda Magnason (2010, Caprice) and Goods (2011, Adrian Recordings). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Her dedication evidently made an impression on Per Fly, the director of Waltz for Monica, the movie that changed her life. She started working on the album right after leaving the set almost two years ago, and her sudden fame has given her own career a significant boost. Without the success, she acknowledges humbly, she wouldn't have had access to the resources - the top-level professionals - which she has now. The same goes for the audience. Waltz for Monica became the most viewed Swedish film in 2013, also scoring a Guldbagge (the Swedish equivalent of the Oscar statuette) for best actress. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Why did it take so long to finish the album? Well, the media hype got in the way: a media hype nearly unprecedented for someone of her youth. This included being chosen as a Shooting Star at the Berlin Film Festival, which resulted in a contract with a Hollywood agency. Suffice it to say, there was very little time left to just be Edda Magnason, the singer-songwriter, during this time. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Even more so while shooting the film. & quot;I had no relationship to Monica Zetterlund's music before the film, & quot; Magnason says. Strangely enough, her mother gave her a CD of Zetterlund shortly before she was offered the role, accompanied by the words & quot;I think you should listen to this. & quot; And so she did, soon spending all her time trying to imitate the legendary star. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For those unfamiliar with Monica Zetterlund, this blonde, svelte jazz singer is associated with the Swedish artistic blossoming of the 1960s and 1970s. Zetterlund performed with American and European jazz greats such as Thad Jones and the Bill Evans Trio, as well as acting in cabarets and films with comedian team HasseåTage, controversial director Vilgot Sjöman and others. A string of love affairs and the difficulties of being a single mother weighed her down, and an intense career came to a halt when the singer became addicted to alcohol. The last days of her career Zetterlund performed sitting in a wheel chair, until in 2005 she succumbed to the flames of a fire in her apartment caused by a cigarette. Michael Brecker Nearness of You: The Ballad Book 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;2001 Album Reissued On 180g Double Vinyl! & lt;br & gt; First Vinyl Release - Pressed At Pallas in Germany! & lt;br & gt; Features Guest Vocals By James Taylor! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The seven-time Grammy award-winning tenor saxophonist, Michael Brecker brings an all-star band together on this first ever ballad project titled & quot;Nearness Of You - The Ballad Book & quot;. Accompanied by Herbie Hancock on piano, Pat Metheny on guitars, Charlie Haden on bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums, and a special guest appearance by James Taylor, singing his sensational hit & quot;Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight & quot; and Hoagy Carmichael's & quot;The Nearness of You & quot;, the tenor saxophonist creates rich resonant statements on 11 songs collected in two chapters and their epilogue. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Brecker has updated these great songs with the addition of Pat Metheny's excellent production prowess on such great ballads as Joe Zawinul's & quot;Midnight Mood & quot; and the Kurt Weill-Ira Gershwin standard & quot;My Ship & quot;. & quot;Midnight Mood & quot; is sensual and seductive, complete with a blithe piano solo by Herbie Hancock in the middle section. Hancock fills in the beauty of Brecker's saxophone lines on this arrangement that is partially based on guitarist Wes Montgomery's version. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; James Taylor sings one of the best renditions of his & quot;Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight & quot;, and it's clearly due to the excellent musicians on this LP. Pat Metheny excels as a serious jazz artist with his well thought out treatment of & quot;Nascente & quot;, which was inspired by Gil Evans' classic 1948 arrangement for Miles Davis on & quot;Miles Ahead & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Michael Brecker has clearly maintained his status as one of the best tenor saxophonists on the jazz scene, and this, his eighth album as a leader, is well within the musical excellence previously recorded. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded December 2000 at Right Track Recording, New York, by James Farber & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;In the age where faster and more convenient is thought to be better, the increase in demand for the retro vinyl LP worldwide is clearly attributed to the satisfaction from the sound offered by analog products impossible to be replicated by CD and digital products and the delight of touching, feeling, and possessing this masterpiece-like large artwork. Madeleine PeyrouxThe Blue Room 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;180g LP with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;br & gt; From the Original Master of Universal Music! & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;br & gt; Never Before on Vinyl! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Vocalist Madeleine Peyroux and producer Larry Klein remake songs by Ray Charles, Buddy Holly's & quot;Changing All Those Changes & quot;, Randy Newman's & quot;Guilty & quot;, as well as & quot;Gentle on My Mind & quot; made popular by Glen Campbell. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;On The Blue Room, her second Decca recording, Madeleine Peyroux and producer Larry Klein re-examine the influence of Ray Charles' revolutionary 1962 date, Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music. They don't try to re-create the album, but remake some of its songs and include others by composers whose work would benefit from the genre-blurring treatment Charles pioneered. Bassist David Pilch, drummer Jay Bellerose, guitarist Dean Parks, and pianist/organist Larry Goldings are the perfect collaborators. Most of these ten tracks feature string arrangements by Vince Mendoza. Five tunes here are reinterpretations of Charles' from MSICAWM. & quot;Take These Chains & quot; commences as a sultry jazz tune, and in Peyroux's vocal, there is no supplication -- only a demand. Parks' pedal steel moves between sounding like itself and a clarinet. Goldings' alternating B-3 and Rhodes piano offer wonderful color contrast and make it swing. Her take on & quot;Bye Bye Love & quot; feels as if it's being narrated to a confidante, and juxtaposes early Western swing with a bluesy stroll. A rock guitar introduces & quot;I Can't Stop Loving You, & quot; but Peyroux's phrasing has more country-blues in it than we've heard from her before. The use of a trumpet in & quot;Born to Lose & quot; and & quot;You Don't Know Me, & quot; with Mendoza's dreamy strings, allow for Peyroux to deliver her most stylized jazz performances on the set. Buddy Holly's & quot;Changing All the Changes & quot; contains the same happy bump as the original, but there isn't any ache in Peyroux's vocal; it's all declaration. The simmering, busted blues in Randy Newman's & quot;Guilty & quot; reveals he could have written the tune for Little Willie John or Patsy Cline. Both singer and producer prove that John Hartford's & quot;Gentle on My Mind & quot; can be as much a jazz-pop tune as a country song. The shuffling train motion in Glen Campbell's iconic version has been traded for a less hurried pace. Peyroux employs her Billie Holiday-influenced phrasing to excellent effect. Mendoza's restrained strings color the tune from a simple, directly conveyed love song to an intimate reverie offered over time and distance; Goldings' shimmering piano and Parks' ringing guitar make it nearly elastic. Warren Zevon's & quot;Desperadoes Under the Eaves & quot; illustrates better than any selection here that Charles' approach to country to transcend genre and tell universal stories was indeed genius. Peyroux, her band, and Mendoza's strings offer a nearly cinematic legend of old Hollywood envisioned through the eyes of one of its most seasoned and heartbroken denizens. The singer leans out of the arrangements and into the depths of her heart, conveying loss and loneliness to the listener directly. The Blue Room is a brave experiment, but one that pays off handsomely. For anyone who hasn't spent time with Charles' classic country recordings, it doesn't matter, because what's here stands confidently on its own; for those who have, that experience will provide an additional reward. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com, Thom Jurek & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The ‘Play 33 1/3 LP Series’ is a 1st LP issue project of the masterpiece albums which have never been released on vinyl LP. In six years, it could be assumed that an artist would undergo a number of different phases, exploring several different musical genres and textures. Johnson didn't spend his six years exploring -- he spent them refining. Venus Isle reveals no new insights about the guitarist, it only offers a new spin on the territory Ah! Via Musicom covered... Johnson is a consummate guitarist, pulling out tones and licks from his instrument that no other musician can quite match. It is a joy to hear him play... & lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;180g Double LP with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;br & gt; From the Original Master of Universal Music! & lt;br & gt; Re-Issue Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;In the age where faster and more convenient is thought to be better, the increase in demand for the retro vinyl LP worldwide is clearly attributed to the satisfaction from the sound offered by analog products impossible to be replicated by CD and digital products and the delight of touching, feeling, and possessing this masterpiece-like large artwork. Furthermore, LP records have both rarity and history that increase their value over time and serve as an attractive factor for collectors. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt; & quot;On first glance this record would not seem to have much promise from a jazz standpoint. Herbie Hancock performs a set of tunes which include numbers from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Paul Simon, Prince, the Beatles ( & quot;Norwegian Wood & quot;) and Kurt Cobain. However by adding vamps, reharmonizing the chord structures, sometimes quickly discarding the melodies and utilizing an all-star band, Hancock was able to transform the potentially unrewarding music into creative jazz. Hancock, who sticks to acoustic piano, shows that he is still in prime form, taking quite a few fiery solos. With Michael Brecker on tenor and surprisingly effective soprano, guitarist John Scofield, bassist Dave Holland, drummer Jack DeJohnette and percussionist Don Alias (along with an occasional horn or string section that was dubbed in later), the results are often quite hard-swinging and certainly never predictable. Although it is doubtful that any of these songs will ever become a jazz standard, Herbie Hancock has successfully created a memorable set of & quot;new & quot; music. The album cover and package created after months of graphic work and processes by hand enhanced its excellence and to ensure the record’s superb sound quality, the German MMP, who undertook the record production of EMI Germany and Universal, utilized a heavy weight 180g vinyl LP to contain the sound. Khiov who was in charge of the planning and production of many LP miniature series took charge of the album cover production spending 6 months to create a masterpiece. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This project was highly scrutinized passing rigid testing at the factory in Germany. Furthermore, LP records have both rarity and history that increase their value over time and serve as an attractive factor for collectors. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians Charlie Haden & amp; Pat Metheny seem to be drawn to each other due to the similar childhood growing up in small towns in Missouri. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny have been good friends since the 1970s, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that Beyond the Missouri Sky should be their first duet album together. Both musicians are from small towns in Missouri, which leads Metheny to speculate in the liner notes if this similarity of childhood ambience might have something to do with the two players' obvious love and affinity for each other. Whatever the answer, the result of this logical pairing is a rather somber and moody one. Metheny has a dark tone on his electric guitar, and on Beyond the Missouri Sky, where he plays acoustic, his sound is similarly deep and rounded. Metheny has called Haden one of the greatest improvisers of all time, and although this may be hyperbolic exaggeration from a longtime friend, Haden has at least earned the right to defend the claim. On Beyond the Missouri Sky, his playing is as sensitive and beautiful as always... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;br & gt; • 180g heavyweight vinyl pressed by MMP & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 6-page booklet & lt;br & gt; • Black poly-lined inner sleeves & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; • Project designed & amp; sleeve made by Khiov & lt;br & gt; • Originally released in 1997 on CD only & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Charlie Haden, bass & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny, acoustic guitars, all other instruments & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Special guests include tenor saxophonists Joe Lovano and David Sanchez, violinist Federico Britos Ruiz, and guitarist Pat Metheny (one track only). Rubalcaba contributes orchestrations on two cuts, both of which omit drums and percussion. Haden's intention is to explore the bolero, a distinctive Latin dance rhythm that Ignacio Berroa accents with a soft, subtle snare drum roll, played with brushes, beginning on the & quot;and & quot; of the first beat of the bar and ending on the second. This rhythm is perfect for a slow dance, and indeed, the entire album is highly romantic, with bittersweet melodies and lilting cadences... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;br & gt; • 180g heavyweight vinyl pressed by MMP & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 8-page booklet & lt;br & gt; • Black poly-lined inner sleeves & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; • Project designed & amp; sleeve made by Khiov & lt;br & gt; • Originally released in 2001 on CD only & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Charlie Haden, bass & lt;br & gt; Gonzalo Rubalcaba, piano & lt;br & gt; Ignacio Berroa, drum, percussion & lt;br & gt; Joe Lovano, tenor saxophone & lt;br & gt; David Sanchez, tenor saxophone & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny, acoustic guitar & lt;br & gt; Federico Britos Ruiz, violin & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Furthermore, LP records have both rarity and history that increase their value over time and serve as an attractive factor for collectors. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Brecker's fourth album as a leader was recorded at the Power Station in New York City and was originally released in 1996 on CD only. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Michael Brecker, a major influence on today's young saxophonists, shows off his own influences a bit throughout this fine modern straight-ahead set. Brecker sounds surprisingly like Stanley Turrentine on parts of & quot;Midnight Voyage, & quot; and otherwise displays his roots in Ernie Watts and John Coltrane. With the exception of Don Grolnick's & quot;Willie T., & quot; the music on the CD is comprised of group originals (five by the leader) and falls into the 1990s mainstream of jazz. While the tenor saxophonist has plenty of blowing space (really letting loose on the exciting closer, & quot;Cabin Fever & quot;), Pat Metheny is mostly pretty restrained (in a Jim Hall bag) except for his wild solo on guitar synth during & quot;Song for Bilbao. & quot; Pianist Joey Calderazzo starts out sounding a bit like McCoy Tyner on & quot;Slings and Arrows & quot; before his own musical personality is revealed. When Tyner himself plays on & quot;Song for Bilbao & quot; (one of two guest appearances), one can certainly tell the difference between master and pupil. All of Michael Brecker's recordings as a leader (as opposed to his cameos as a sideman on pop records) are easily recommended and show why he is considered a giant by many listeners. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;br & gt; • 180g heavyweight vinyl pressed by MMP & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • 6-Page booklet & lt;br & gt; • Black poly-lined inner sleeves & lt;br & gt; • Gatefold jacket & lt;br & gt; • Project designed & amp; sleeve made by Khiov & lt;br & gt; • Originally released in 1996 on CD only & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Michael Brecker, tenor saxophone & lt;br & gt; Pat Metheny, guitars, synth guitar & lt;br & gt; Jack DeJohnette, drums & lt;br & gt; Dave Holland, bass & lt;br & gt; Joey Calderazzo, piano & lt;br & gt; McCoy Tyner, piano & lt;br & gt; Don Alias, percussion & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The albums are released by Universal Music Korea and the heavyweight vinyl LP is pressed in Germany. Khiov designs the project, reforms the original artworks for the LP size and produces the sleeves precisely by handmade. You will have a chance to experience great analogue sounds and to enjoy splendid artworks through the series. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Lee Ritenour, a superior studio guitarist, has recorded very few jazz albums throughout his career, preferring to play melodic pop and light funk. On the rare occasions when he has had an urge to perform jazz, Ritenour has been more than happy to show off the influence of Wes Montgomery; therefore, this tribute is a logical move... Ritenour mostly plays pieces from the later (and more commercial) half of Montgomery's career, along with four of his own originals that are sort of in the tradition. He also hedges his bet a little by throwing in a Bob Marley reggae tune. For jazz listeners who wish to sample some Lee Ritenour, this is one of his better recordings... & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Scott Yanow & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; 180g Heavyweight Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; From Original Master of Universal Music & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Single jacket & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Obi strip & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Insert & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Lacquer cut at SST (Schallplatten Schneid Technik) Bruggemann Germany & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Remastered by Paul Blakemore at CMG Mastering & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Cover sleeve printed by Khiov in Korea & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Lee Ritenour, guitar, electronic percussion & lt;br & gt; Bob James, piano, keyboards & lt;br & gt; Melvin Davis, bass & lt;br & gt; Harvey Mason, drums, percussion & lt;br & gt; Dave Witham, B-3 organ & lt;br & gt; Ronnie Foster, B-3 organ & lt;br & gt; Gary Novak, drums & lt;br & gt; Steve Gadd, drums & lt;br & gt; Cassio Duarte, percussion & lt;br & gt; Aaron Smith, rhythm track & lt;br & gt; Phil Perry, background vocals & lt;br & gt; Kate Markowitz, background vocals & lt;br & gt; Carmen Twillie, background vocals & lt;br & gt; Maxi Priest, vocal & lt;br & gt; Alan Broadbent, piano & lt;br & gt; John Beasley, keyboards & lt;br & gt; John Patitucci, bass, acoustic bass & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Ritenour and the former Doobie Brothers vocalist transform the song into an adult contemporary/quiet storm ballad. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; The 'Play 33 1/3 LP Series' is a 1st LP issue project of the masterpiece albums which have never been released on vinyl LP. The albums are released by Universal Music Korea and the heavyweight vinyl LP is pressed in Germany. Khiov designs the project, reforms the original artworks for the LP size and produces the sleeves precisely by handmade. You will have a chance to experience great analogue sounds and to enjoy splendid artworks through the series. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt; & quot;Creatively, Lee Ritenour has had his ups and downs over the years. Many of the guitarist's commercial pop-jazz efforts have wasted his skills as an improviser; when Ritenour is catering to NAC/smooth jazz radio, improvisation is the usually the first thing to go. But when Ritenour does have a chance to stretch out, he can be an appealing improviser. Although quite accessible, Rit's House is among his more memorable and substantial efforts. This 2002 release has a soul-jazz/post-bop outlook that often recalls the late '60s and early '70s; for the most part, it is the sort of album that guitarist Grant Green would have been comfortable recording during that era. But Ritenour's guitar playing owes a lot more to Wes Montgomery, who is obviously his primary influence on Gabor Szabo's & quot;Mizrab, & quot; as well as original tunes like & quot;78th & amp; 3rd & quot; (which features organist Joey DeFrancesco) and the dusky & quot;Olinda. & quot; One of the album's best tracks has nothing to do with jazz: & quot;Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic. & quot; Featuring former Doobie Brothers vocalist Michael McDonald, this interesting remake of the Police's 1981 hit is not only a departure from the rest of the album -- it is also a big departure from the original version. While the Police's version was up-tempo pop/rock, Ritenour and McDonald transform & quot;Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic & quot; into an adult contemporary/quiet storm ballad. That track is the album's only vocal offering; the rest of Rit's House is instrumental. Arguably, 1992's Wes Bound is still Ritenour's best studio album -- certainly from a jazz perspective. But this album is also respectable, and those who enjoyed hearing the guitarist stretching out on that mostly straightahead disc will also find a lot to enjoy about Rit's House. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; - Alex Henderson & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Heavyweight Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;From Original Master of Universal Music & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gatefold jacket & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Obi strip & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Insert & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lacquer cut at SST (Schallplatten Schneid Technik) Bruggemann GmbH in Germany & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Pallas in Germany & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cover sleeve printed by Khiov in Korea & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Musicians: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;LEE RITENOUR: guitar & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;GEORGE DUKE, JOHN BEASLEY: Fender Rhodes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;MARCUS MILLER, MELVIN DAVIS: bass & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;DAVE CARPENTER: acoustic bass & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;MITCH HOLDER: acoustic guitar & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;JOEY DEFRANCESCO, MARK STEPHENS: B-3 organ & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;JOHN BEASLEY, ALAN PASQUA: B-3 organ, piano & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;VINNIE COLAIUTA, WILL KENNEDY, BYRON LANDHAM, PETER ERSKINE: drums & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;PAULINHO DA COSTA: percussion & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;ERNIE WATTS: tenor saxophone & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;JERRY HEY: flugelhorn, trumpets & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;GARY GRANT: trumpets & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;DAN HIGGINS: flute, tenor saxophone, alto flute, Indian flutes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;BILL REICHENBACH: trombone & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;JOCHEM VAN DER SAAG: sound design, loops, percussion, keyboards, synthesizers & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;RANDY KERBER: synthesizer, strings & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;MICHAEL McDONALD: lead and background vocals (Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic) & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 1: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Module 105 & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt; & quot;13 & quot; & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt; Mizrab & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 2: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;78th & amp; 3rd & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt; Rit's House & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt; A Little Dolphin Dreamin' & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 3: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Condor & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Olinda & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 4: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Night Owl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Party Time & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Just Listen & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

Charlie Haden The Montreal Tapes: Tribute To Joe Henderson 180g 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;180g Vinyl Double LP Pressed at Pallas in Germany! & lt;br & gt; First Release On Vinyl! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;Produced for Societe Radio-Canada, the album was recorded live on June 30, 1989 (the opening night) at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal in Quebec, Canada. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt; & quot;...This (session) is special because it features Haden in a trio of players not usually associated with him: drummer Al Foster -- fresh from Miles Davis' band, and the late tenor giant Joe Henderson. In fact, Haden has subtitled the set, & quot;Tribute to Joe Henderson. & quot; There are four extended tunes on the set, the shortest of which is the opener, a gorgeous, wide open rendering of Thelonious Monk's & quot;'Round Midnight, & quot; on which Henderson begins to display some of the same modal soloing traits he employed on his Blue Note recordings Mode for Joe, and Inner Urge. As if this weren't enough, the trio ranges from the lyrically and harmonically sublime reinvention of Jerome Kern's & quot;All the Things You Are, & quot; to a wildly adventurous free jazz ride on Haden's & quot;In the Moment & quot; -- which begins like a classic bop tune and then forgoes all changes and time signatures in favor of pure improvisation -- to a 20-minute blastoff take on Charlie Parker's & quot;Passport & quot; to close the set. There is no lack of intensity or concentration, no mere going-through-the-motions here. This set is a powerful testament to the inherent musical communication of swing between three fine principals, and one of the best live trio dates issued in years. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt;- Thom Jurek & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; The 'Play 33 1/3 LP Series' is a 1st LP issue project of the masterpiece albums which have never been released on vinyl LP. John Scofield A Go Go 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Never Before on VINYL!!! & lt;br & gt; 180g Vinyl Pressed in Germany with Deluxe Packaging! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A trailblazer of jazz in the '80s, a perennial poll winner, bandleader, master improviser, composer and major player in the music arena; John Scofield brings groove music to its knees on his second Verve recording, A Go Go. Accompanying the guitar great on this syncopated summit meeting are the premiere groovemeisters of the neo-funk scene, Medeski, Martin & amp; Wood. Together they've fashioned a collective groove that drives shake-that-thing funk to the core without sacrificing an ounce of satisfaction for the brain. An organic session that hangs together on a mutual love of groove-oriented music, A Go Go stands as Scofield's beat manifesto. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;The nasty factor is a special thing that the guitar can do and it's something that I enjoy doing too, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; Scofield acknowledged. From the cosmic-earthy title track, through the infectious groover & quot;Chank, & quot; the bent-string bite of & quot;Hottentot & quot; and & quot;Boozer & quot; and the heated slinkiness of & quot;Southern Pacific & quot; and & quot;Chicken Dog, & quot; that nasty quality comes across no-holds-barred throughout A Go Go. Still firmly within the funk and groove genre, Scofield puncuates the passion with auditory rest stops; the eerie soundscapes & quot;Kubrick & quot; and & quot;Deadzy, & quot; the subtle and subdued & quot;Green Tea & quot; and the bright, joyous & quot;Jeep On 35. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; From the sublime to the gritty, Scofield forays into the funk and groove genre with electrifying results. & lt;b & gt; & quot;I'm bringing some of the elements of my playing back into the foreground with a new '90s attitude, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; said Scofield. & lt;b & gt; & quot;I loved making this record. Each member of MMW is a stellar musician on his own but together, they're unbeatable. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;John Scofield owes a great deal to Medeski, Martin & amp; Wood for the success of A Go Go. The piano/organ, bass, and drum playing trio adds a world of bouncing vibes to Scofield's inquisitive, happy guitar work here. A Go Go is an album of mostly breezy, sometimes tense, jam-based grooves. The album's charm is in its & quot;city meets the tropics & quot; feel. The four players create such a warm, vibrant sound that resisting the urge to tap one's feet along with the beat becomes a near impossibility. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The “Play 33 1/3 LP Series” features masterpiece albums released in the '90s converted for the first time world-wide to analog Long Playing record. The arrangements, vocalizations, and compositions, as well as the performances of the musicians, have a refreshing sense of cultural innocence and curiosity in their tales. With the exception of “Windows,” a Chick Corea composition, reinterpreted here in historical fashion by McFerrin, the rest of the oeuvre was penned by him. Having Corea playing in this recording was a prudent decision as he has an authentic and imaginative record of accomplishment in various musical worlds. The same is true of most of the rest of the crew that gave rise to the beautiful blessing that is Beyond Words... & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - allaboutjazz.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded on 180g heavy-weight vinyl to ensure quality sound, packaged in gatefold cover, and covered by premium protective vinyl outer sleeve. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The “Play 33 1/3 LP Series” features masterpiece albums released in the '90s converted for the first time world-wide to analog Long Playing record. James and Neve pull out heavy hitters from the repertoire, 'Autumn in New York,' the Gershwins' 'Embraceable You,' 'Body and Soul,' and Duke Ellington's 'Just Squeeze Me' among them. James - who studied and played with jazz greats Chico Hamilton and Junior Mance - is not overly reverent, but he is disciplined as well as innovative. Neve's pianism pushes that envelope a little further still. His light touch, elegant harmonics, and subtly innovative fills and solos give James all the support and room he needs... The duo’s reading of 'When I Fall in Love' is downright moving. It holds no trace of the nostalgia usually associated with its many interpretations. James is able to express the deep yearning in the lyric and melody without over-emoting. For jazz fans who’ve not heard him, this album is a very new turn on some well-worn music by a major talent. For James' fans - who all knew he could sing like this - For All We Know adds a different kind of depth and dimension to his established recorded oeuvre thus far. & lt;footer & gt; -AllMusic & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Play 33 1/3 Series & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Vinyl Pressing & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;From the original master of Universal music & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lacquer cutting by SST Bruggemann GmbH in Germany & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Pallas GmbH in Germany & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Project designed & amp; sleeve made by KHIOV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Obi & lt;/li & gt; & lt;!--More features go here in & lt;li & gt; tags-- & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Jose James & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;vocals & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Jef Neve & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;piano & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;!--More musician rows go here-- & gt; & lt;/table & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 1: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Autumn In New York & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Embraceable You & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gee Baby, Ain't I Good To You & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Body And Soul & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;When I Fall In Love & lt;/li & gt; & lt;!--More tracks go here in & lt;li & gt; tags-- & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 2: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol start= & quot;6 & quot; & gt; & lt;li & gt;Tenderly & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Just Squeeze Me & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lush Life & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;For All We Know & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

You will have a chance to experience great analogue sounds and to enjoy splendid artworks through the series. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...As on Footprints Live, Shorter revisits some old tunes from his relative youth, but not nearly in the same way. In & quot;Orbits, & quot; which was given a racetrack post-bop run by the Miles Davis Quintet, Shorter slows it way, way down, virtually deconstructing the tune, backed by a quizzical chart for winds and brass...With a wild soprano wail, Shorter leads off the album with his new, absorbing boogaloo & quot;Sacajawea, & quot; one that soon morphs into searching, nearly free jazz, with a magisterial solo from the composer. At last, someone in jazz chose to deal with both tunes from Leroy Anderson's Spanish-flavored light classical masterpiece & quot;Serenata & quot; rather than just the lush second subject -- and Shorter decorates them with a complex featherweight orchestration. Though Acuna's bongos pop away in the foreground, Shorter does maintain the melancholy feeling of the familiar aria from Villa-Lobos' & quot;Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 & quot; ... As he approached his 70th birthday, this disc seemed to confirm a long-awaited creative Indian summer for Wayne Shorter. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Richard s.
