About the Book
This is book one is a 15-book series which introduces children to the nations of the world through "character letters". It is designed to break down stereotypes and break down barriers between cultures/races/religions.
I Am Proud of Who I Am explores the hopes and dreams of these fictional pre-teens and teenagers from across the globe and invites you to explore their home with them. This book is intended to break down barriers and remove stereotypes; to demonstrate that no matter where we are from in the world, we all have hopes and dreams, as well as something about our country for which we are proud
"Wow, a great educational book for children, that teaches something but not in a overwhelming fashion, so it doesn't seem like work. A nice way to introduce your child to how other cultures live, through hearing stories from children who live there. It also suggests a variety of future career choices a child might find interesting, stepping past the same old doctor, lawyer, astronaut, etc... and into fields they may have never thought of, so opening their minds to more opportunities. I would have loved this book as a child and even found it entertaining as an adult. For a parent who wants to help their child appreciate that even though people may come from different cultures and have different life stories, we all have things that are the same, such as the dreams we aspire to. It's unifying while appreciating diversity." - L.A. Sinatra
