Constructed of Shorea tropical hardwood - heavy, dense, and resistant to rot and infestation. Easy assembly using solid wood dowels. Slotted table tops allow water to pass through which prevents ponding. Table leg joinery is wood-to-wood for solid union. Mortise and tenon joint construction adds strength and longevity. Left untreated, shorea will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. Will last for years in all weather conditions. Untreated, wood weathers to a warm gray, or treat with teak oil to maintain color.
