The Dark roast, Kisii Blend, pays homage to the town of Kisii where our founder was born and the location of our main coffee farm. The soil is exceptionally fertile and coffee grows freely without need for chemicals. This dark roast is strong, bold and flavorful.

Kahawa 1893 is a specialty coffee company founded and run by a third generation coffee farmer from Kenya. The founder grew up on a coffee farm in Africa and she is passionate about the journey of coffee from seed to cup. In Africa, women provide over 90% of the labor in coffee. Inspired by the role of women in coffee, she founded Kahawa (coffee) 1893 with a mission to empower them and share their delicious coffee with the world.
