Furnace Room Lullaby is the second album by Neko Case, originally released in 2000. Cases vocals are superb from front to back, as smooth and fiery as good brandy, and her revolving circle of musicians (including Ron Sexsmith and Kelly Hogan on backing vocals) are subtle and beautifully evocative, balancing sorrow and good times with an easy grace.
Neko Case's Furnace Room Lullaby was dubbed a "deceptively effortless shot at high art, each tune alternately smoky and barbed-wire taut with more than a taste of rainforest melancholy" by Interview.
Furnace Room Lullaby, released February 2000, features the title track which is also included on the soundtrack to Sam Raimi's supernatural thriller film The Gift starring Cate Blanchett, Keanu Reeves, Hilary Swank, Katie Holmes, and Greg Kinnear.
