14th Studio Album On Limited Edition Cherry Red Vinyl LP!
The Album's First Pressing On Color Vinyl!

This is a first time color vinyl pressing of the 2011 follow-up to Steve Earle's Grammy® Award-winning 2009 release, Townes. The 11-track set was produced by T-Bone Burnett and was Earle's first collection of original material since his 2007 Grammy® Award-winning album, Washington Square Serenade. The album includes the celebrated song "This City", written for the HBO Original Series, TREMÉ, which Earle also appeared in as an actor. "This City" features horn arrangements by Allen Toussaint and has garnered a Grammy® Award Nomination in the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media Category. Other highlights include the ballad "Every Part Of Me" and the ode to those who make their living on The Gulf Of Mexico.

"They are all, as far as I can tell, about mortality in one way or the other; death as a mystery rather than a punctuation mark or at least, a comma rather than a period," Earle comments on the songs in the album liner notes.

The title of the album is taken from the 1952 Hank Williams song of the same name, which was the last single released during Williams' lifetime.

I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive is among Earle's strongest albums. His vocals are emotionally powerful, and with its richly drawn lyrics and intricate arrangements it's an album you can come back to often and uncover new pleasures each visit.
