Powered by five potent 15W RGBW LEDs, the Penta Pix from American DJ is a flexible and distinctive effect that’s perfect for both mobile and installed applications. The fixture’s bright LEDs are mounted behind advanced collimator lenses to create razor-sharp 6° beams. An unusually shaped fixture, the Penta Pix has a slim central unit with the five lens assemblies attached to the front in a fixed fan pattern. Not only does this make setup a breeze—since the lenses are already perfectly spaced and positioned in an arc—it makes for a dynamic result with sharp, intense beams fanning outward onto the stage or the audience.

If you’ve ever setup a fan of conventional ACLs or pinspots you’ll know how much time it can take to get their spacing exactly even. But with the Penta Pix, the beams will be positioned in a perfect fan shape as soon as you hang it. Each of the five individual lenses can then be angled on its X-axis, adding further versatility to the Penta Pix effect. It’s easy to set each lens in a central position, to create a straightforward flat fan pattern, but it’s also possible to create other effects.

For example – by tilting the first two lenses up and the last two lenses down – a sloping fan effect can be generated, perfect for if two Penta Pix units are used to flank a stage setup. Alternatively, the lenses could all be set at different angles to create a random beam effect. Thanks to its efficient LED light sources, the Penta Pix runs extremely cool, which means that it can be used constantly for as long as needed. Its efficient LEDs result in a maximum power draw of just 77W, making it ideal for use in situations where an impactful effect is required but the power supply is limited.

Featuring 63 color macros and pixel zone control, the Penta Pix offers DMX operation for full control of all its performance parameters. If simplicity is more your style, the fixture also boasts 15 dynamic built-in automatic program modes.
