Buddy Guys legendary electric guitar licks and passionate vocals are on display in this influential, 1968 album, where the celebrated musician bridges Chicago blues with R&B. Remastered from the original analog tapes, this 50th anniversary edition of the album is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in an old-school-style, tip-on jacket.
"The Original Blues Brothers," as Rolling Stone dubbed them (Buddy Guy and Junior Wells), were frequent studio and stage collaborators throughout the 60s and 70s, producing some of their finest recorded work together. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary for both Buddy Guys A Man and the Blues and Junior Wells Coming at You, seminal albums from the Vanguard Records archives that were among the first to capture Chicagos signature electric blues sound. Both titles are reissued on 180-gram vinyl cut from the original analog masters by Capitol Masterings Ron McMaster.
