With Thelonious Monk and three quarters of the Modern Jazz Quartet (Jackson, Heath, and Clarke) as his accomplices, Miles Davis blends sophisticated harmonic knowledge with raw, spontaneous invention to produce extraordinary music.

This is a strong addition to any jazz collection. Music here is performed by a veritable group of jazz greats, hence the title. Davis is joined by John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Milt Jackson, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Percy Heath, Philly Joe Jones, and Kenny Clarke.
