I'm writing this book continue what my friend Lyle started; a warning cry against self abuse, the encouragement to those who struggle with the same deep, dark fears this seemingly invincible, unstoppable man did. No man is too big or powerful to have doubts, fears, pain, and sorrows. Time has passed since his death. Stories that may have been embarrassing to him or others can now be told, no holds barred. So pad up keep your helmet on - this is quite a story. His childhood was straight out of a script written for a horror movie. He dated so many beautiful women he could have given Wilt Chamberlain a run for his money, but when it came to love, he was plagued with bad decisions. He was an example of physical perfection whom later wasted away to practically nothing. He was generous to a fault and full of life buut had an empty hole inside him. He swore he never used drugs in man, typical spectacular headline - making style, admitted he'd lied. What a great, GREAT read! from page 1 till the end it is a nonstop page turner and such a terrific story of lies - truth - heart ache - friendship - struggles and most of all LOVE. Seriously if you're not into football or don't even know who the great Darth Raider Lyle Alzado Is ( shame on you;) give this a read because it is a wonderfully written book. The author knows how to tell a story and was surprised to find myself just as interested in his life as I was with Mr. Alzado.

We loved the Lyle Alzado story "Nobody's Invincible" Book by James Duffner. It is such a great read. Steve and Cindy- Vizzo.

What a fantastic story as told by Lyle's friend. You feel like you're there with Lyle and Jim as he shares his stories of the adventurers of these two. You can feel the friendship of these two men in the brotherly love. Perhaps not part of the review but I am so glad that Jim shared with Lyle about his faith in Jesus and that Lyle accepted Christ into his life. While it is sad not having warrior with us anymore it is good be at such a great friend and great that he shared with us, the Lyle Alzado's fans. Thanks Jim outstanding book. This book was incredible. It was hard to put down. Jim did a great job writing about the story of Lyle, the ups and downs of playing pro ball, their brotherhood/friendship and pages and pages of great memories they shared together with their teammates and friends. I suggest this book to the fullest. I have not finished the book in a few years and finish this one in less than two days. Lori Minear five stars Amazon.

My husband truly enjoyed reading this book. He said it is a really good insight into the behind-the-scenes life of Lyle and how hard NFL players have to work. It was hard to put down, and I wished I could have devoted my entire day to finishing it.
